Windows Vista 32 bit - what caused the white diagonal dashes on a blue background

My laptop no longer works. Yesterday, at about 16:00 so I was working, the display turned blue and had white diagonal dashes filling from the top to the bottom left on blue background. I disconnected the power, removed the battery and pressed the start 30 seconds button like I usually do when strange things happen, but now when I turn on, just the lights above the keyboard, not the fan turns, not become sound discs to work. I left off during the night and tried to start with a zero the device response. It of kaput or not? What can I do?

If you get absolutely nothing on the screen at startup, including the Logo of the manufacturer, it really looks like a hardware problem.
If, according to contact manufacturer's warranty.
If it is under warranty, contact a computer repairman, premises and ask them to check it for you.

My windows crashes constantly everytime I try to watch a video or go to a page with java, if I try to install the new version of Adobe, it stops it's self down and do not restart, just it becomes black and stops. I pay for membership to netflix and I can't even watch a movie. I go on youtube it crashes, I'm trying to play farmville on facebook, he crshes... in a blue screen and this is what I get when I start it again:

They know there is a problem and they don't even try to find a solution for this. In this economy, they force people to buy new computers, they will just leave people blocked company becase NOBODY takes the phone, if you do not have email, people don't keep in touch, if you are not on a social network or business networking nobody will know your business, you won't make any money nobody reads the ACTUAL newspapers these days, everybody reads the news on the internet. They only hurt people, they are forcing anyone to buy a new computer, people just can't afford it. Hundreds of thousands of people can barely keep their utilities on. In doing so I wish they will reconsider. I am disabled I will definitely cut if my computer goes down for good.Can we do any smell that?
There are also a lot that I need to run startup until the restoration. Windows restarts after the crash of the blue screen, I reinstalled windows twice, it works fine until I have start to install all updates. I have only installed MSE and it still happens. I lost all my music I paid a lot of money for, my paintings for children, important documents, all because I had to reinstall windows twice now. I may have to reinstall them once more and I do NOT wish to install the updates again. He really never stops until I installed updates to windows. I thought that if I use the programs from Microsoft that it will work, because after all, it's all done by the same company, but no, nothing works. I am so in the sincere real despair. If I can afford a new computer at any time, I think I will try Apple, I lost my trust in Windows. Could be heat related - try using a small fan to blow into the air intakes to see if that helps.
It is just like it loses power or stop it in the normal way? Heat associated
does not necessarily mean excessive heat, it could be something is too sensitive to the same
normal levels of heat. Also a computer will produce more heat as is pointed out how adding
software or updates, among other measures, causes it. Of course those actions should not
cause enough stress or heat to shut down the computer.For a laptop on everything that you can do is reinstall the memory and clean the ventilation openings (still may try to add

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 causes the message "Windows install will not be accessible".
I am running Windows Vista with all the updates installed but Service Pack 2. I uninstalled Service Pack 2 because it was causing problems with the windows installation service. I was unable to install microsoft office update because the windows installer could not be accessed, and Adobe Acrobat Reader could not be repaired or updated for the same reason.
With installed Service Pack 2, I traveled all troubleshooting for the windows service install. I have a click with the right button on my computer, manage, service and open the properties of windows install. I have activated the service, but still couldn't install the updates Microsoft office or Adobe Acrobat Reader update/repair. I also tried to configure windows install automatic rather than manual when the computer starts.
I had the problem "Windows install is not be available" for nearly a year. After trying to do a repair Vista boot without result, I uninstalled all updates. The problem disappeared. I decided to install the updates one by one. After you have installed Service Pack 2, the problem with windows install returned. The Service Pack installs completely and then open my computer properties indicates that Vista runs with Service Pack 2 installed.
Uninstall Service Pack 2 and blocking automatic updates will not install it was my only solution to the issue of "Windows install is not be accessible". I fear that it may cause a security flaw in my computer, however.
If someone has encountered this problem, and if so, is there a solution to install Service Pack 2 for my windows service install still works correctly?
Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are known to not uninstall (or upgraded) themselves. Composition of such problems, Geek Squad is also infamous for having failed to download/run the Norton removal tool before installing another AV app or security suite! The 'leftovers' Norton may have caused your post-SP2 installation problem.
1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).
3. click right on the file saved in #1 above, and then select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.
4. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run it in DEFAULT and modes difficulty then AGGRESSIVE. [1]
5. restart & test (i.e. display SP2 & install it again). [2]
TIP: Temporarily disable Sunbelt Vipre Antivirus before installing SP2. If you still encounter problems after installing SP2 again, open a free support by my previous response incident.

It is a gateway M6866 laptop running Windows Vista 64-bit.
The computer does not start up--gives "BOOTMRG is missing" error at startup. I'm trying to boot from the 64-bit of Windows Vista recovery disc. I clicked on the "repair your computer" option, and it shows the computer loading files. Then the "System Recovery Options" box appears and asks me to select the operating system to fix it. The problem is that nothing has listed. It is said that if your OS is not listed click Load Drivers. I did, but it is said to insert the device installation media, and then click OK to select the driver. I clicked on OK and then opens a browser window to select the file.
I don't know which file I'm supposed to select here. I searched online for an answer, and someone told him to go to the computer manufacturer's website and download the driver for RAID controller. I tried to go to the site of the bridge to find it, but it doesn't seem to be one for Vista 64-bit.
Please please help! I have to at least be able to extract the files to the hard drive before reinstalling windows.

· Have you Configure RAID on the system?
If you have not configured then RAID on the system, I suggest you to disable the RAID/eSATA (SATA improved) in the BIOS. Once you turn off the RAID/eSATA on the system that your basic hard disk should be recognized by the system because it doesn't require any drivers, it will act as an IDE. Once you have disabled the RAID/eSATA then booting into the recovery environment and build the Bootrec and check if the problem is resolved. I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below to rebuild the bootrec.
Rebuild the BCD store by using the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment. To do this, follow these steps:
a. get the Vista installation DVD and pop in your drive.
b. then restart your computer.
c. press a key when you are prompted.
d. Select a language, a time, a currency, and a keyboard or another input method, and then hitNext
e. click on repair your computer
f. click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next
g. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt
h. type bootrec /rebuildbcd and then press the Enter"" key.
· If Bootrec runs successfully, it will present you with the installation of a Windows directory path. To add the entry in the BCD store, type Yes. A confirmation message appears that indicates the entry has been added successfully.
· If Bootrec cannot findany lack of facilities of Windows, you must remove the BCD store, and then you must re-create it. To do this, type the following commands in the order shown below: (remember to press ENTER after each command)
bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup
Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old
Bootrec /rebuildbcdi. restart the computer.

Windows Mail receives by e-mail at the start of the program, but when I press send/receive it does nothing more.

I hope someone can help me. I am unable to boot into windows vista 32-bit, so I downloaded the vista recovery disk and get an oxo error code what it means (thanks in advance)?You don't give any info on what was the original problem with the computer.
You have set the Bios Setup to boot from the CD/DVD drive?
At startup, it will say press F2 or delete key to go into Bios/Setup, or maybe F12 to go to the Start Menu.
And have you tried also to tap F8 at startup and choose Safe Mode from the list of Boot Options?
Use up arrow key to do this, press on enter.
Browse your Hard Drive manufacturer's website, download software from here and test your hard drive for errors.

While 64-bit Vista is not listed on there, the latest version of Flash Player, 18.0.0.160, will always install on it.
What does "does not average"? It installs correctly, but the Flash content is not displayed? Using the browser Internet Explorer 32-bit or 64-bit?

Recently, my Dell XPS M1530 (Windows Vista 32-bit) has been extinguished during the execution of the system updates (we had a power outage during the night and I didn't) and would only start in safe mode. I moved all my documents on a portable HARD drive and reinstalled the operating system to try to save the computer.
After I did that and reinstalled the drivers (downloaded from the Dell site via my system identification label), I started to load my programs on it (Adobe, Microsoft Office, etc.). After I install a program and exit the installation window, Vista stops responding. I can't click on the Start button (the mouse will go over it, but it does not allow me to select) or one of the other button I have in my toolbar. I can't click anything in the Dock of Dell at the top of my screen, either.
The only way to turn off the computer must press and hold the Power button until the laptop turns off. I HATE doing this, but there is no other way to turn it off once a program has been installed.
Any thoughts on what is happening here? I hope this is just some kind of error on my part - I can't afford to get a new machine. I wanted to upgrade to Windows 7 (my machine can handle), but I don't want the same problem occurs.

failure should be accompanied by a power surge or other that has caused a problem in the computer.Makes it sound like there are hardware problems that can probably be repaired. Have you looked at the system
by a real computer store (not the leeks and the glances at a Best Buy or other stores) or Support of Dell.Dell support

HP HDX Windows Vista 64 bit laptop with error 1002 of the recovery process

I have laptop HP HDX which had a sound problem with message of error "Could not play the test tone", tried in several ways by online suggestions and ended to reinstall the new copy with recovery disk. As part of the recovery with a reovery of HP drive, I tried to get it back and it formatted boot partiion and got this error message "error 1002 if the problem persists, please contact HP support. My laptop is out of warranty now. I talked to HP support and they ask me to buy new drives recovery and someone in this forum mentioned that recovery disk will lift the same mistake and we would need to purchase technical support and even that has not worked for soembody after paying $ 200 to support. I am struck with recovery of the laptop now. I also tried the recovery partition revovering and gave rise to no luck. I'm now out of warranty.
I am really fedup with bearing on my this laptop windows vista 64 bit HP HDX laptop problems. What is your best suggestion for me to recover my windows vista now?

I ordered the drive to restore HP for $ 16 and I have no problem in my OS with this disk recovery. Recovery partition that came with my laptop had this error 1002 and he really tortured than me. It is recovered successfully with this new disc of recovery with on all issues.
I would have saved a lot of time, would not have had any stress and restore ($16) if HP disks price had built the free bug recovery partition.
I'll be very careful in buying HP products in the future.

I use Windows Vista 64 bit or 32 bit for the games?
I want to use a configuration set. Should I go with Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. I heard that the 32 bit is more compatible with most of the games. However, some say that 64-bit will give you a better gaming experience. Is this true?

You will have a better gaming experience with 64-bit is dependent on whether the game has a 64-bit exe and some do. The max ram limit increased the 64-bit version is also available. I played all my games on the version 64 no problem what so ever. Some of the game seem better to work on 64-bit, but I don't have a real data hard to back this up. I have a large collection of games that plays very well on Vista 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit including Demon Stone, which is very old (Win 2000 / XP) all this without having to use compatibility mode. So, you should be fine with the 64-bit since manufacturers of video cards offer very good 64-bit drivers. I have a simple philosophy: just assume everyone is a piece of _ and then be pleasantly surprised if you find someone who is not.
