Windows Vista (32 bit) stops responding after installing the program...

Hello.

Recently, my Dell XPS M1530 (Windows Vista 32-bit) has been extinguished during the execution of the system updates (we had a power outage during the night and I didn't) and would only start in safe mode. I moved all my documents on a portable HARD drive and reinstalled the operating system to try to save the computer.

After I did that and reinstalled the drivers (downloaded from the Dell site via my system identification label), I started to load my programs on it (Adobe, Microsoft Office, etc.). After I install a program and exit the installation window, Vista stops responding. I can't click on the Start button (the mouse will go over it, but it does not allow me to select) or one of the other button I have in my toolbar. I can't click anything in the Dock of Dell at the top of my screen, either.

The only way to turn off the computer must press and hold the Power button until the laptop turns off. I HATE doing this, but there is no other way to turn it off once a program has been installed.

Any thoughts on what is happening here? I hope this is just some kind of error on my part - I can't afford to get a new machine. I wanted to upgrade to Windows 7 (my machine can handle), but I don't want the same problem occurs.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hello

As you re-installed Windows and the problem persists the rules well enough software. The power
failure should be accompanied by a power surge or other that has caused a problem in the computer.

Makes it sound like there are hardware problems that can probably be repaired. Have you looked at the system
by a real computer store (not the leeks and the glances at a Best Buy or other stores) or Support of Dell.

  • Windows Vista is not starting right after installing the game on Steam

I had problems with my computer... I recently got a game on Steam, my computer asked me to allow a program. When I welcomed this program it restarted my computer. Now I can't open files or anything either, but Google Chrome works, steam is running. I'm puzzled about what is going on. I don't know if it's a virus or something much worse. Since I welcomed this program I have not been able to start my computer correctly, I have done analyses and a recovery disk to start problems.

I tried to install each 4 updates individually, but still they will not be installed. Can someone help me out here. I also tried dealing with the regisgtry through my Norton application. My computer works fine but I would like to install updates. I've tried now about 2 dozen times

    christopher_nievol,
You must download the updates and install them manually.  You can go to the Microsoft Download Center and search the KB # and then save the file to your desktop.  I would recommend performing a clean boot your PC and then, by running your office updates.

    Hey Gary

You could try to clean boot your device, to see if a service is the cause if it is, the error must occur is no longer after it is initialized to clean. A guide to clean the boot can be found here

I also read some people removed some tweaker pc utilities pc or pc performance enhancing software to their computer and that seems to work as well.

I would like to now if the error persists after a clean boot

  • HP G70-111EM - Windows Vista 32-bit (Trying to set at the factory and keep getting error 1002)

    Dear HP support and users,

    Model: HP G70-111EM

I've had this laptop since December 26, 2008.  Last week something was wrong on the laptop, I think managed to install the Vista program 2011 Anti Spyware of viruses on the laptop by mistake and I was not able to remove it with anti-spyware or anti-malware.  So decided to return the computer as long as factory setting by using the HP RESTORE DVD that I created in the past of the laptop.

Then inserted the DVD and the beginning of the process until I got error 1002.  Now I can't do anything.  The hard drive seems to have been formatted so all the information was deleted, but I start the process of reinstalling VISTA.

I am really lost do - what I need to do to solve this problem.  I have a laptop £450.00, which has an operating system that is hidden in a partition, but how can I reinstall it when the DVD of RESTORATION HP continues giving error 1002.

Thank you all for your support but no luck.  I decided to buy windows 7 32 bit and install on the laptop.  I had some problem with wifi work only not with Windows 7 32 bit.  But guys on the forum helped me with that.

So no more Windows Vista for me.

Thanks to all and no thank you HP, as it cost me £150 for the copy of Windows 7.

    Hello

-Did you change your computer, after which the question began?

If it starts on the desktop in safemode, I suspect involvement of conflict of software of third party causing the problem to occur. I would like you to put your computer in a clean boot State. Clean boot helps eliminate conflicts of third party software.

Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual.

  • After reinstall Window Vista 32 bit, I can't move the slider to increase the resolution of the screen, how do I solve this problem

My Dell Inspiron 530 sudenlly crashed, I could not start it. I called for the support of a group that I paid for. Technicians helped me start the PC, but they could not fix the screen resolution: in the display settings window, the cursor is on the left end of the bar, the low position and could not be moved. The technician finally asked me to save the folders files and reinstall Windows Vista. After the relocation, the screen resolution problem persisted. Technicians then reformat the HD, then reinstall Windows Vista again, the result was the same. We cannot change the resolution. Help, please.
