Windows Vista iso download
Hello
I had to replace the hard drive in the laptop to my sister because she died. Again, I would like to install windows Vista because it's what came with it. However, I can't find a Vista Home Basic ISO file. She has a Toshiba Satellite so I searched on the Toshiba site, but I found nothing.
Hello
Toshiba does not have a download available.
There are several methods to reinstall Vista.
This can help you:
The download worked in this link; then stopped. Posters have reported success from time to time with them.

You can contact Toshiba and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:
You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

Download Windows Vista .iso
I have a computer that has the Windows Vista Home Basic (key) sticker on this subject. The HD has been re-partitioned and reformatted. I don't have the CD of Windows Vista. Is it possible to get a .iso file so I can install a legal OS? States of owner that it came with a Vista CD, the software was pre-installed and has now been removed as a result of the re-partition and formatting. I don't think that it is necessary to buy an OS twice!
Hi James,
Your computer has been installed with a so-called OEM System. This means that your system has been pre-installed with the computer at buildtime.
You can get new media by looking at the following ms kb:

I hope this helps, if not Windows 7 is great and well worth the money ;)

Relocation of preinstalled Windows 8 ISO downloaded using the preinstalled OS product key
My Toshiba Satellite M840, pre-installed with windows 8, will not reinstall/refresh using the built-in refresh / reset. I need to reinstall because when I updated from windows back 8.1 for windows 8, my BONES may have not installed properly and its always blocked. I tried to search several times, but it seems that the only solution is to reinstall. Even the store won't work. Also, I can't install Microsoft Office 2013. Can I reinstall windows 8 since an ISO downloaded without losing all my personal files? I was also able to extract my product key so I can use it to reinstall windows 8. Are they possible?
The retail trade. ISO file does not work with the pre-installed key. Your best option would be to contact Toshiba for recovery media:

Someone has a good and updated link for Vista ISO? I got Home 32 bit.
Hello
Legal ISO of Vista links are no longer available.
Contact the manufacturer of your computer/laptop for recovery media.
If Vista is preinstalled, you'll have a recovery partition to reinstall from.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
