http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/2d96561c-0a7a-492a-b48f-8317cf4f1fde1033.mspx

Indicates a previous update failed to install and additional facilities prevent the updates. Only affects the Windows updates.

Open Windows Update and review your history.

Locate the update/s that have failed to install (you can see more information on the update/s failed by double-clicking the update)

If the information reveals 800f0826 move on the following, until you get the update that displays a different error code of 800f0826.

Once you have located the update that failed and caused the problem, so that must be fixed before you can install other updates. -Taurian, MVP-

Do I need to install the System Update Readiness Tool KB 947821?

Probably not: I had a lot of doubt that SP2 is installed if KB947821 has not already been installed.

Given that this problem is after a fairly recent install of SP2...

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for Windows Vista, but only for Service Pack 2 (SP2). This support, initially planned to end on November 26, 2009, has been postponed until February 26, 2010, so move on! Availability of support chat or messaging differs depending on your location. Some questions may require that more support for which he is advanced a charge.  Go to http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?prid=13014&gprid=582034 & select appropriate category (i.e., download problem;) Installation problem; Problems after installing a service pack <=pick this=""> ).

In the case opposite & whereas KB971644 is NOT a security update, you can simply hide the "thing":

    1. stop the automatic updates service:

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator > services.msc (type) > [OK]
Double-click automatic updates > click stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2 remove the contents of the download folder:

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator >
    (type or copy/paste) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > [OK]
Open the download folder and delete its content
    Close the window.

3 start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step). Windows Update |  View the updates available (or Select the updates installed): right click on the (platform) update for Windows Vista (KB971644) | Click hide update | Confirm the prompt UAC (User Account Control), if any, & OK your way out.

    4. start the automatic updates service:

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator > services.msc (type) > [OK]
Double-click automatic updates > click Start
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

    =====================================
To restore/show updates for Vista: Start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step) | Windows Update | Restore hidden updates: Find and select the update you want to install. Click restore. You can now select once again it and install through the normal process.

NB: If KB971644 were available for download/installation manual (and is not), I would have you try it.

  • Windows do not install display error c1900101-30018

    Original title: windows 10

Why windows do not install display error c1900101-30018

The phase "Installation drivers and features" is the most delicate part of the upgrade. If you see a c1900101 x300xx failure, it means that we have failed in this phase. The most common failure is x 30018, which usually means a driver crashed when we there for the first time. Any driver can cause failure, but he can't block 100% of the time. If you try again, it may work only.

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

  • Problems to install a downloaded version of Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 on my mac through VMWARE FUSION

    Hi all

I hope you can help as I'm going crazy! It's my first MAC if im a complete noob.

Me being lazy has decided to download Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 from https://emea.microsoftstore.com/UK/DesktopDefault.aspx/tabid-2/ site

It contains 3 files which I had to download separately:

    Vista_HomeBasic_SP1_32bit_English_Download_Part1_66G - 02017.exe

    Boot.wim

    install.wim

Once I had downloaded these. I pulled the top of VMWARE AU12EME 2 but could not detect anything. If I then wacked out on a memory stick and ran the .exe on my windows pc. This integrated then all the files I downloaded a good big folder of Vista.

So once again I pulled up to VMWARE fusion 2.0 but still nothing. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I heard people talking that I need an ISO file? But I searched all files that I downloaded and installed, and there is nothing similar. The only thing I can think is that I need to burn the VISTA folder I extracted from my pc to DVD and try running disk on my Mac. But that would make a difference that I tried to run from my DESKTOP MAC key and memory? In addition, there is no ISO files.

Please HELP I'm worried that I just lost my money!

I did a little research, and it was one of the best hits on How to make Vista DVD bootable with WIM downloaded files that I think sums up your situation.

Because I had the file oscdimg.exe since Install Kit automated (Windows AIK) I gave it a try and it worked.  In other words, by using the folder of Vista and its content that has been created by you run the files you downloaded you should be able to create a Bootable ISO Image, which you can then use to create a DVD, if you have the right software to burn an ISO Image on DVD.  (Maybe you could do this on the Mac) Although if you want to you have even burn the ISO Image to DVD just copy it on the Mac and assign it to the CD/DVD in the settings of Virtual Machines.

Other documents you may find useful: Microsoft TechNet > TechNet Library > Windows > Windows Vista > Windows Vista technical library Roadmap > Windows Vista: deployment > Kit to install Windows Automated (Windows AIK) > Deployment Tools Technical Reference > Command - line Tools Technical Reference > Oscdimg command-line Options

Just to let you know that it took me about 20 minutes to do a search on Google and create the ISO Image and the test that I could start a VM in the Fusion and if you need to download and install the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) to get the oscdimg.exe file it obviously will take you a little longer, but it is doable and the solution vs safer trying to get the file oscdimg.exe or cdimage.exe from a link sent illegally into the file.

In any case the information presented here can solve your problem of creating a Bootable Image DVD/ISO.
