  If you go to programs and features, and then on the left side you should see a link for "Daily display installed."  Which would then show the list of updates with the State which will show you if it failed or not.

  I had a problem in the past where the system was performed at Trend Micro Internet Security and Web content filtering (I think that's what it was called) was preventing attachments from download.

  I am currently using a Toshiba Satellite a305-s6916 with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I had some problems with the computer so I decided to reinstall my OS and have a fresh start. I made the discs by the creator of recovery on the computer disk.

  I reinstalled my OS, got all my files and programs on the computer, then started updates. When I installed Windows Vista Service Pack 2, my computer rebooted, went to the "Configuring updates 2/3 0% ' screen and stayed there." The circle of "loading" froze, I let it sit for an hour and finally started strong.
