Windows Vista: Windows error install

My windows installer stop working during a download of an update from HP.  Now I get a message from interactive services saying that "a program cannot display a message on your desktop.

Title of the message: the Setup program
Program path: C:\Windows| System 32\MsiExec.exe

Have you tried the system restore to go back before the update has failed?

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

You can manually launch the HP update executable and run it by clicking right on it and selecting the run as Administrator option?

Type 'Services' in the search box on the Start Menu, click Services when it appears at the top of the results.  In Services there is a service called "Interactive Services Detection", right-click on this question and see if the Service is disabled, it must be set to Manual.

This will show you how reregister the msiexec.exe, http://www.dasblonde.net/2007/07/08/Error1719OnVista.aspx

  • Windows error install 1601

windows package install error 1601. Can anyone help? I tried everything to fix this. Thank you

    Hello

This is probably an easy fix. Mistakes in installation and in particular the error 1601 windows install package often occur the firewall or virus scanner blocking the installation package. Go ahead and try to disable antivirus and firewall, try to install it and see if that fixes the problem. Worth and probably it will fix. Hope this helps,
