Windows error install on HP Pavillion with Vista

MY laptop is a HP Pavilion dv5 1223TX, I had problems I did a factory reset via the Recovery Manager, I have installed all updates to Windows because it helped, I am trying to download the software I was using before resetting, as iTunes, Java etc. but I get an error message ' could not access the windows Service install. This can occur if Windows Installer is not correctly installed "I tried various downloads to remedy this, but nothing helped. Any suggestions please?

Hello Cam,

    Hi tdigiannurio,

Thanks for posting your questions to answers.microsoft.com

Here is some information that should help you with this error.

If you receive the 8007000 b error when you try to install Windows Vista updates, the Windows file system transaction log is damaged. The transaction log is used by the Windows file system to recover when a file error occurs. To correct this error of update, you clear the log. Here's how:

To clear the file system transaction log

    1.

Click the Start button. In the Search box, type command prompt, and then, in the list of results, right-click command promptand then click run as administrator.

    2.

In the command prompt window, type fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\. (This assumes that C: is the drive on which Windows Vista is installed. If Windows is installed on another drive, change the drive accordingly letter.)

    3.

    Restart your computer.

    4.

Download and install the update again.

If the problem persists after you follow the steps above, go to the Center of Support Windows Update website to try to find more information about the error code or to request support by e mail.

  • Windows error install 1601

windows package install error 1601. Can anyone help? I tried everything to fix this. Thank you

    Hello

This is probably an easy fix. Mistakes in installation and in particular the error 1601 windows install package often occur the firewall or virus scanner blocking the installation package. Go ahead and try to disable antivirus and firewall, try to install it and see if that fixes the problem. Worth and probably it will fix. Hope this helps,

  • Video card driver displays an error message after reformatting computer with Vista

I reformatted my computer using windows vista and I kept getting an answer that the used copy was an illegal copy of windows. In the meantime my computer was working fine. I called Microsoft and they verified that it was not an illegal copy and gave me an additional code to activate windows. After activation, my image of the screen became smaller with a border of 1 inch black around the screen (I have a widescreen monitor). I tried to correct this problem and have discovered that my video card driver has an error message saying that windows has stopped this device because it has reported a problem. I tried to reinstall the latest version of the driver, update to windows vista and tried all the suggestions that have been proposed on the microsoft Web site, and it still doesn't work. I reinstalled everything again with the same problem. Can you please help me solve this problem. Thank you.
