Windows will not burn to a disc.

When I go to burn my ISO of windows 7 Home premium on it, but for some strange reason, it does not work.

No matter what type of disk it is? IV tried to write about the speed the more low and all that simply, it does not for some reason any. Any help is appreciated. I have a disc that allows to work. When I put in it would load windows and lead me to an installation window. When I click on install it would lead me to a page and says I was missing some drivers. I guess it's because my old drive is scratched a lot.

Try to create a bootable copy on a USB key:

Once we have the .iso file, they may want to use the Microsoft .iso to USB/DVD tool to create a DVD or bootable USB (requires a blank DVD or USB flash to at least 4 GB key).

Follow the instructions:

    Hey Tashina_Jean,

Here are a few things to try:

    1. make sure that the disc is clean.

    2. Select a recording speed (write) more slow for the CD burner (recorder).

    3. try a different brand of blank discs.

    4. stop all other programs that are running.

5 disable any programs that could activate themselves, while burning is in progress, such as screensavers or anti-virus programs.

    6. defragment your hard drive.

  • Try to burn a CD. The system will not recognize the blank disc or let me burn__

Try to burn a CD. The system will not recognize the blank disc or let me burn... says there is no disc inserted

    Hello

Have you tried to close all programs and then insert the disc? Restart the 1st and then try it.

    If no joy:

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

  • Optical drive will not burn

I saw that there are many other positions on this, and although I found others who had descriptions which were similar to mine, the patch did not work.

    My specs:

    Windows 7 64-bit SP1

    H8 HP desktop PC - 1360t

    My optical drive: DH16ACSHR

My driver for the optical drive is the cdrom.sys, the version of the file: 6.1.7601.17514, date 21/06/2006 driver

When I bought my computer, I did a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit. A ran all updates at once and drive perfectly serious. A few weeks later, it will not burn. I use Windows to burn simply .pdf files, and it gets to the point where it says 'burn', but after I click on burn the dialog box disappears. The drive makes noise and rotates the disk and writes data to it, but the dialog box never pops up or check the disk. It shows no more burn % completeness. If I try to remove the disc, the drive does not open. If I open with a paper clip, because the disk rotates, it sure is beating sounds and jams. When I open the drive and the drive, the drive clearly has written data to, but it cannot be read by other readers. It just says: the disc is no longer a Virgin, but I cannot see what is on it.

    I HAVE ALREADY TRIED:

    Remove/uninstall the driver

Checking the registry entry for the upper and lower entrances, THERE ARE NONE

Being run/scannow - Windows comes up saying that it could not find any problems, all right.

Update driver - he says I have the latest driver

Roll back the driver - he says that there is no driver installed previously

I had a HP Office before a different model and exactly the same thing happened then. When I first came to this other, it burns very well, so I thought that maybe it was a problem with the previous machine... but then after a few weeks it started doing the same thing.

I'm confused because when I look at the release date for the driver, it's super old, and he says it's the latest version... but Microsoft lists 50 updates to it at least between then and now, some of them as recently as June. I can't seem to find a way to download this driver common windows by itself and install it this way or the other.

I refuse to do a complete reinstall because I do not think that it will solve the problem more than temporarily. Within the company, it is the fourth total office with what has happened, and whenever we do a clean install, it works at first but then goes back to the same problem again.

Hoping someone has an idea where I can get a newer than 2006 for this device driver.

    Hello

    Hope the following patch helps:

    Good luck.

  • I can not burn an Audio disc with Media Player 11

My system = XP (SP3), 3 GB of RAM, Intel CPU G620

Media Player 11 will not burn a playlist.

I dragged a list of MP3 files to a playlist for burning.  However, when I click on the button burn, WMP11 starts to burn apparently the first track on the list but then stops at 96%. I tried at different speeds, the media and even a CD - RW and the same thing happens.
Curiously, that WMP11 is burning track 1, the progress bar indicates "finalize disc". This would seem a strange message because it is just the first piece of 10 and so has not yet reached the end of the list.
    After the burn hangs at 96% for a few seconds, I get the error message;
"Windows media player cannot burn the files to the CD. Check that the disc is clean and not damaged. If necessary, select a slower recording speed or try a different brand of blank discs.
HOWEVER, I also have NERO 7 and I have absolutely no problems burning the same Audio disc.
It's extremely frustrating and I would appreciate some advice on this.

I decided to go back to WMP 9 and then reinstalling WMP11

Now, everything works as it should!
However, I found an absolutely terrible navigation in WMP11 - sometimes I don't know where to go for a task. Nero - although his gripes - is a breeze in comparison.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

I have a Toshiba Satellite P10 and have just received some photos software, burning

I tried to burn it with Nero, but even if I burn OK on any CD discs with this software it will not work on DVD discs. It's really annoying because when the burning process it fails so that it makes the DVD - RW disc seem curupt and then my drive has problems mounting the disc to try a deletion once more.

I have the Nero log file failed

    A big thank you Michael.

    Hello

What about different DVD media? Have you tested the media DVD-R or DVD + R common?
Have you tried different brands of DVD?
I can't give you a properly answer why the drive can't burn your DVD - RW, but to my knowledge not every media is supported by the player.
So I think you should check different DVDs.

When you try to burn a CD and have a blank CD - R into the DVD player, I get 'Windows cannot read the disk in drive D ". I tried other discs and DVD, but it seems that Windows does not recognize a blank disc. I have another DVD drive and the same is true here as well.  I tried to update the drivers and deactivation and reactivation of readers but nothing is done. However, CDs or DVDs with the content are recognized.

I had the same problem on Windows 7 32-bit (suspect this fix as well under Vista). After trying everything under the Sun entered Services (search for programs and files, type 'Services') and looked "Shell Hardware Detection. Found that it was disabled (not sure how he got that way). Right-click on it to get the properties. Change startup type to "Automatic", press apply then OK. Problem solved without even having to restart!
