Windows will not start and repair failed. Can I upgrade to Windows 7 from this situation and get Windows 7 to begin?

Any help will be apprecdiated.

Normally, you do an upgrade from the inside of the race and activated the operating system.

Restore point:

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
See you soon.
  • Vista Service Pack 1 update fails - computer will not start and cannot be repaired
    The computer which is an Acer desktop computer, running Windows Vista Premium.  In the last 6 months updated Vista tried Service Pack 1 update to install Vista about 8 times and failed every time a reason any.  Just before this latest incident, a facility was "cancelled" in the Middle for some reason any.  I restarted the computer and almost immediately was advised that there is an update, which turned out be SP-1.
    I started the update, and some time later I received a message that the update was successful, and that he had to be restarted the computer.  I clicked on the button restart and the Installation continues during the shutdown.
    When the computer tried to restart initialization failed and I ended up after several lines of information that looked as if it might be checking drivers and then information began to look as if she might be reading the register lines.  Each line has 2 numbers separated by a slash (/), who scored on a single line at the top of the screen, (white letters on black background) after a certain time the count to stop with the line of text of flickering on the same entry.
    It is the line that goes to the screen when the information keeps changing.
    !! 0xc01a001d!  37636/92292 (\Registry\Machine\components\winners\x86...)
    Since the failure of the Windows Vista SP1 update, when the system begins to start, after a short while, he starts playing what seems like lines in the registry, and after a few moments he always stops with the same accurate information just flicker.  At this point, it seems that this scenario will continue forever.  The hard drive is accessible, as if trying to read something, over and above.  The hard drive light flashes, instead of being on regularly, but only for a while.  After that, even the flickering stops.
    I have tried to start mode without failure, then after loading some files and after some time (5 or 10 seconds) the displayed files always end with the same file at the bottom of the list and what seems to be a status extend the message please know...  Shortly after the screen is empty, the fails to start and the computer is restarted.
    Usually what will happen is that the computer will begin to start up again, but because the previous boot failed, it asks if you want to go to startup repair, which, at first, seems to work fine, but after a little time it brings up a dialog box asking if you want to restore to the previous good Restore Point.  The display will then return to the same routine he had previously, and she runs to always if not interrupted.
    If you click the Cancel button, a message appears indicating that you cannot interrupt the current process, so the only way that you can try something else is to Shut Off the Power in now the switch down, permanently.
    [Note: the notes above have not all accurate messages, Word for Word, exceot for the Hex error line.]
  • Windows Vista will not start or repair.
    Greetings!
    I'm having a problem with my computer. About 2 weeks, my Windows Vista out of nowhere began to fail in the market with the infamous and hated "cannot start Windows, a recent hardware or software may have... "and the options of start that none who work. I tried to fix it several times, but Windows would only start for an hour or two, and then the screen would go black. When I tried to start up, he would go back to the Windows cannot start message. I then completely reinstall windows, but every time I try the black screen comes back and the windows do not message starts again. I then tried to boot from an Ubuntu disc and install it, in vain the same black screen and message windows after that reload will appear. Now, the computer will only start with the windows form has failed every other power-up, otherwise the black screen appears. I looked inside my computer and everything is plugged tight, and I just checked my drive for errors of law before the failure, so I don't know what could be the cause of this.
    Help, please!
    Thank you very much!
    Brandon
    Hi noblesb,
    First disconnect the external devices connected to the computer except the mouse and keyboard.
    I suggest that you try the startup repair using the windows vista installation disc.
    1. Insert the installation disc.
    2. restart your computer.
    3. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the lock button, and then click restart.
    4. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
    Note If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.
    5. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    6. click on repair your computer.
    7. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    8. in the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair.
    Check out the link for more information below.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/how-do-I-fix-a-boot-startup-problem
    If the previous step fails then check if the computer is able to boot into the advanced boot options.
    Steps to start in safe mode
    1 restart your computer if it is running.
    2. tap on the F8 key after your initially on powers computer.
    3. Once you see the menu Advanced Boot Options, you can stop tapping.
    4. use the up/down arrows to select your selection.
    5. Select Safe Mode and press enter.
    6. you should see loading drivers and wait please.
    7. you should then be on the Welcome screen.
    8. connect to your computer using an account with administrator privileges.
    If you are unable to boot into safe mode, then try any other fashion among early startup options, check out the link for more information below.
  • Windows 8 will not start, automatic repair does not solve anything.
    If the installation of Windows 8 FINALLY worked, thanks to technical support. However, he would not read my CD driver NVidia GPU, so I rebooted the PC. Now it does not start even upward. He tries and fails twice before saying that auto repair failed. And I still can't get.
    so, it comes to my account, but somehow I can't log in. I solved in refreshing.
  • Windows Vista will not start and cannot recover
    I have a desktop PC HP Compaq Presario, which has about 2 years. The problem started when Windows Vista was not able to start. It would load up on the "COMPAQ" screen and then it would just go to a slider black white screen with a flashing white light on the top left. Now that I've seen a lot of discussions with this similar problem, but it seems that people would rather not reformat in order to lose any important data. But in my situation, I have some important data on my computer so reformatting would be fine, except...
    -Recovery system won't work. I insert the 1 system recovery disk, all files loading correctly, it allows me to choose if I want to reset the computer to factory settings, I click Yes and it finishes the reformatting step. But then the problem comes when I insert disc 2, original content relocation step. It fills up to 10-16% and then I get a blue screen of death STOP: 0 x 00008086. I tried SEVERAL times and the same thing happens.
    -The next thing I tried to do is to fix the computer via a copy burned Windows Startup Repair. Loads everything up, I spent the page where I choose my language, currency, etc. The problem comes when I get to the System Recovery Options. There is no listed BONES and a box appears and says "Searching for Windows installations", and then it stalls just on this pop up. This problem is quite recent, because before there is no pop up and there is simply no OS listed, so I still could not repair or restore in any case.
    -Before, when I was able to go into the advanced options on the Startup Repair disk (when he was not of "searching for Windows installations" pop up to stall on), I'd go to the command prompt in attempt to chkdsk/r C:. All bad sectors or groups or something else would be fixed, and then he would hold to step 5 of 5 when checking free space.
    -In addition, I tried to make a diagnosis of memory via the Startup Repair tool. That's what I get:
    File: \boot\memtest.exe
    Status: 0xc000000f
    Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt
    Furthermore, I cleaned my computer, it is now almost completely free of dust. In addition, I can't get into the BIOS, I can't get into safe mode, and now I can't have in the command line
    Hello
    1. What is the model of the computer?
    2. Once you get the error message?
    3. What is the exact full error message
    4. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    5. what version of Windows you are trying to install?
    For the information of the BIOS:
    I suggest you to consult the manual of the computer. You can also download the manual of the laptop from this link using the laptop model.
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/siteHome?cc=us&LC=en
    Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
    You can contact the manufacturer of the computer for the installation of any related issue of BIOS support.
    You don't have to go into BIOS to format the hard drive.
    Hello
    The blue screen of death usually occurs because of the serious software problem or due to malfunction of the equipment.
    In your case, it looks more like something wrong with the hardware. Why, because you're not able to restore the laptop from the recovery CD Toshiba delivered!
    Need buddy? I think that the laptop should be verified.
    Try to contact an ASP in your country and ask for later handling.
    Please try these two steps, if they don't work, I'll post the link on how to call the HP technical support, because this is a very new computer.
    1. try to boot in SafeMode if possible: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
    2 update the PC: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc as described in the Microsoft steps below:
    Refresh your PC without affecting your files
    If your PC does not perform as in the past, and you don't know why, you can refresh your PC without delete all of your personal files or change your settings.
    Note
    • If you have upgraded your PC from Windows 8 to 8.1 of Windows and your PC has a partition recovery from Windows 8, refresh your PC will restore Windows 8. You must upgrade to Windows 8.1 once the update is complete.
    I am running vista 32-bit Home Premium edition. I finished the speech recognition session setting the microphone. I finished the tutorial.  However, no voice recognition program continues to run. When I run the program of recognition (or when it is started automatically to the 'start-up', it starts to run and then goes into "Sleep" mode for a few seconds and then on 'Off'.  The second time, I start speech recognition he will say 'Start speech recognition' and then go directly to 'Off '.  When I click on the microphone icon in an effort to implement the program "On", I get an error of speech recognition that says "Please restart speech recognition. It is said in the body of the error message "speech recognition has encountered an error. Please restart speech recognition to ensure that you can continue to use the speech recognition".   When I restart speech recognition error repeats.
    Although the speech recognition tutorial seemed to work, the real speech recognition program doesn't have.
    Does anyone know a fix for this problem? Thank you.
    Hello Dirleton,
    Thank you for your message.  For testing purposes, could you try creating a new account on your computer?  The process is described below:
    * make sure that you logged in with an administrator account *.
    1. click on the 'Start' button > right click on 'Computer' > select 'manage '.
    2. click on the arrow pointing down next to "local users and groups.
    3. highlight "users."
    4. in the right pane, right click and select 'New user' (enter information, then select OK)
    5. now right click on the new user and select "Properties".
    6. Select the "Member" tab and click on 'Add '.
    7. in the box type 'Administrators' and click on "check name".
    8. click on OK
    Then log off your computer and connect again the new account.  Test the speech recognition, this will rule out a problem of profile corruption.  We can then troubleshoot further.
    Please let us know if this or don't help solve the problem.
  • Vista will not start after update 12/9 - a patch prevents the system from starting.
    My computer has downloaded an automatic update on 09/12/09.  It restarted while I was at work, and when I got home he had just ran a startup repair function which could not solve the problem.  I tried to run the rapair again and it failed.  I tried to do a system restore on the eve of the update, but the operating system could not start again, and I was sent automatically the Startup Repair tool.
    When I look at the diagnostics, the message says "a patch prevents the system from starting.  I have no idea how to solve this problem.  Can someone please?
    PCrepair101,
    You try to use the package manager I link a few post above?  Otherwise, demarrer start from your DVD, type command prompt, and then follow the steps in method 2.  http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/940410
    If this does not fix it you can rename the pending.xml file and restart.  To do this, boot from the DVD and enter the command line.  Then type:
    CD windows\winsxs - press on enter
    Ren pending.xml pending.old - press on enter
    Then restart the system.
    You said "when I try to do a system restore, it is said that there is no previous restore point" and I was wondering if you have tried a "Startup Repair" not a system restore.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
