Windows wireless LAN 802.11 Extensibility infrastructure

A week ago, this app has started crashing. No idea why. But I can still connect to the internet without problem. It will not pop up with an error, I can't know that it crashed because maintenance windows says that this was the case. Depending on where it crashes, a few times I have been active on the Web.

Is there an update published recently which is causing a problem here?

Also, I installed the windows diagnostic follow-up of service, which also kept crashing at the same time would be wlan.exe. I uninstalled the update of diagnostic follow-up, it was anyway as an option.

Those who were / are the only two things that keep coming up on top of the maintenance of windows. Everything else is fine, apparently.

If this is an update hinder wlan.exe, which is it? If this isn't the case, it could be the cause? It's even weirder, because it is not at all the effect my internet connection.

Thanks for the links, even if one was for vista which I did not.

I seemed to have it corrected during the uninstallation of diagnostics, followed by the update from last week. It has not crashed since then. But I'll keep all this in mind, just in case.

Are you able to connect to the Internet?

Check if you see an error or messages for your network adapter yellow exclamation in Device Manager.

    Follow these steps:
    a. Click Start, then type devmgmt.msc in the start search box then press ENTER.
    b. in the list of devices, expand network adapters.
    Look for errors here.
    c. right-click on the device and click on uninstall.
    d. restart the computer.

After you restart, then the device will install automatically.

  • RALink wireless LAN 802.11n card and my WIN 8 64 bit PC error Code 31: no driver updates available

22/12/2012 bought ASUS CM6780 PC running 64-bit. RALink Wireless LAN crashed my system twice in 10 months. ASUS support allows only a "System Restore" which means you start from scratch with ALL your programs, updates etc etc.
I get the error code indicating 'Bad Image' with several pop-up window for what I am running, and the Ralink Lan has an error code 31 showing Windows cannot update.
I have my 1 year warranty AND a 3 year warranty, I purchased in addition to this, but the ASUS support is lame. Only help to restore the system not to find a real solution, and when I ask a new LAN card, they do not respond.
Is this a problem with updates of Windows or Ralink?
Please advise, downtime for each episode runs more than 24 hours, restore my programs and update everything. I'm ready to trash or sell it!

Send the minidump to analyze what is causing the BSOD,

This device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31).  So install the Ralink wireless driver.

The pilot had a mistake and while t/s one of the final solutions to try it was to uninstall the driver, then restart the computer. The pilot never reinstalled, same when I searched the Web for this with the installation wizard. Broadcom program still shows in the uninstall programs, but when I go into the Device Manager it shows device unknown, no driver installed. There is no option to roll back to a previous driver. I tried to do a system restore, and it doesn't work anymore. I searched online and not able to find the driver I need on the Web site of microsoft or broadcoms. Don't know where to go from here, other that a cable ethernet... any help in getting this reinstalled driver would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!     If more details are needed let me know what you need to know.

    Hello

I guess that you have a laptop, if your copy of Windows was preinstalled on it there is a big chance that the driver is built into your computer. To check, click Start > double click on C: > double-click the files to program files > (locate) double-click the folder of the cabins. From there, you can install your wireless driver.

However, if the instructions above does not work, then download the driver from the website of the manufacturer of your computer, they should have ALL the drivers for your computer. :-)

  • HP support assistant - update card Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN April 23, 2014

    My HP computer:

    Product name: p6 - 2220t

    Product number: B3F79AV #ABA

My Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN card:

    My OS:

    Windows 7 64-bit sp1

The current version of the driver on my wireless LAN card Ralink is 5.0.9.0.  HPSA now tells me that there is a version 5.0.33.1Ap1 update.

Last AS HPSA said that there is an update, it was bad and created problems. See http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-Software-Recovery/HP-Support-Asistant-Ralink-...

Does anyone know if HPSA sends the correct update this time?  I would like to learn more about this until I followed the recommendation to download and install it.  Must what problems/bugs or security issues correct?

Thank you for your time and your help.

    Hi mpw101,

I understand that you get an automatic update that indicates that you must install the software driver for your Ralink Wireless LAN card, and I would be happy to help you!

For your computer, the most up-to-date Ralink Wireless Network Controller Driver is labeled sp58084.exe. I spoke with Dunidar on this subject, and he referred me to a previous post that you created on your network card. That being said, if you update is always at the SP62055.exe, please ignore this update as it is a business unit.

    I hope this helps!

I just bought a new PC (foxconn) who has a 802.11n wireless Lan card, my connection is very poor but my connection on my laptop compac and iPad are excellent. Is there a way I can get a better connection with this lAN card?

    Hello

Check with the assistance of FoxConn, their documentation and online drivers. Don't assume new products
    have up-to-date drivers.

    Are all Windows 7 computers?

The router may also need a firmware update so check with its creator.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello @css321,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post about the way your computer displays a pop-up message prompting you to update the installed wireless card. I'd be happy to help you in this case!

If you encounter any issues connecting to a wireless network on your computer, I wouldn't count the update as crucial. If your computer is having problems connecting to the network, even if the problem is intermittent, it may be a good idea to install the update.

I hope this helps, and if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to post back!
