Windows XP no sound

Everything was working fine but now no sound.  Checked the control panel and it said: no audio device.  Everything is properly connected.  What else could be wrong?

What did you exactly what happens? You will have to perhaps inadvertently uninstalled the drivers for your audio device.

You can try a system restore to an earlier date than what happens, or go to the website of your computer manufacturer and download the XP specific drivers for your unit or use the recovery disks that came with your device (one of them should have the audio drivers on that).

If problems, re-post, but with more details - do PC/Laptop, model and reference number.

See you soon,.

    Hello

    1. What is the number of brand and model of the sound card on the computer?
    2. If it works well before?
    3. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest that you install the updated drivers for the soundcard on the computer by visiting the manufacturer of the sound card and check if it works.

  • MacBook Pro/Windows 7 driver sound issues

I own a macbook pro, one of the new models of unibody 15 inches and since the installation of Windows 7, I was not able to properly use the microphone (on Windows) and sound acted pretty strange.

The OS x included with my computer installation cd is supposed to install the necessary drivers on the windows side, and it seems to have done that, for the most part, except that I couldn't use the microphone in a multitude of applications. The control panel "sound" recognizes the microphone and shows that the microphone is receive sounds. The small green level bar next to "microphone" move when I make noise, yet no application appears withdraws all the sounds.

After a little research, I gathered that the soundcard in these is actually a Realtek HD card and not a card Cirrus Logic, which is what I had drivers. So I tracked the Realtek driver, I thought I needed, uninstalled the Cirrus Logic driver and installed realtek one. However, this realtek driver does not seem to do anything, because the driver is now just listed as high definition Audio Device, which is the standard windows driver.

Other issues I had with the cirrus logic driver - once I plug the headphones, I can't sound on speakers of the laptop again unless I have restart windows. In addition, if iTunes plays the sound in all other programs in the past and not coming back unless I restart the program.

I guess I need to know if A) I am not mistaken on the Realtek is the right driver, B) cirrus driver is in fact correct and there is another solution for the microphone and other problems or C) there is no hope.

    Thanks in advance.

So it seems that my problem now is that the realtek driver does not work. I downloaded the executable version of the driver first and installed, but when windows restarts, the sound icon at the bottom right has a red cross on it and after a quick diagnosis, he told me there was a problem with the driver. So I downloaded the file .zip of the drivers, uninstalled the 'old' and extracted the new and after a reboot, same thing. Red X.

If I let windows solves the problem, restart, I am back to the driver high definition Audio Device windows and I have no sound from my speakers, that my helmet. And still no microphone function.

  • Satellite S300-10j - error 0xe0000100 in Windows 7 driver sound installation

    Hello

I have troubleshooting installing my sound card with Realtek High Audio driver on my laptop Toshiba S300-10j under Wimdows 7.
All the time, I got the 0xe0000100 error code when setting up my sound card.

My laptop worked on Vista and I started the new installation Win7 and whenever I get this error code repeatedly.
I already searched on web sites to find a solution to the problem, but so far, but I can't.

Notice that Microsoft says in his FAQ Win7 is a partition problem (delete partition bit between 100 MB and 200 MB)
but I tried this solution and it does not work.

So thank you very much in advance for your answer.

    Hi mate

How have you installed Windows 7?
You did a new clean install or did upgrade you from Vista to Windows 7?

I recommend you clean install because it would avoid some of the problems with the old vista drivers/software.

    With regard to the sound:
As far as I know the laptop supports the audio chip Realtek ALC268-GR.
So simple common Realtek HD audio driver must be compatible and should work fine.

Here you can download the latest Realtek HD audio driver:
    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=24&PFID=24&level= 4 & Conn = 3 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false

  • Satellite Pro L20 - Windows 7 - no sound

Anyone know if there is a driver for windows 7? or I have to go back to Vista... shame 7 looks pretty good

    Thanks for your comments

    > Does anyone know if there is a driver for windows 7
In my opinion you have Win 7 drivers on the Toshiba page for this oldie.
I found a FAQ from Toshiba on Win 7 support and Pro L20 is not there.

You should check your sound chip and do research on some pages of part 3 of the right driver Win 7

  • Tecra S4 - Windows 7 - no sound

I recently installed Windows 7 on my Tecra S4. Everything seemed to work fine except the sound. I tried several audio drivers (including directly from the Realtek download site) but none of them worked. The sound card is correctly displayed and when I play an audio file, the icon windows 7 shows that a sound is played, but the speakers do not work. Also the audio before plays all sounds.

Someone at - it suggestions for me to get the proper functioning on my Tecra S4 using Windows 7? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You may notice yellow exclamation in Device Manager?
What drivers have tried exactly? Most of the Vista drivers are also working on Windows 7, then you should try the Vista driver:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Also, make sure that the latest version of the BIOS is installed. You can get it on the Toshiba site too.

Another question: is the sound works on OS preinstalled Toshiba?
