  • No sound in Media Player

I have no audio problem with my browser, but I tried to play mp3 and mp4 files in two media players and or play sounds on a file type.  I ran fix on this page http://support.microsoft.com/mats/audioplayback, but he has found no problem.  One of the media players does not appear in the volume mixer, but the other is certainly not cut.  There is no green and gray bar fluctuating under the speakers/headphones section for each player, because when I play audio in a browser.  I just reinstalled Vista and downloaded and installed all updates.  What could be the problem?

I found the solution here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-pictures/no-sound-through-any-media-player/26ba4c61-d03b-46cc-8bbf-e88225cf8e51.  Not sure how I have not found that I originally posted.

  • No sound with Media Player works fine otherwise

Windows media player has more audio during playback of music files.  Sound works fine for all other applications on the machine. It's just the music library that makes no sound when a file is read.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes until the problem started?
2 have you installed an audio codec pack?

Check if the audio media player is cut in option Volume mixer.
    a. click on the speaker icon in the bar of tasks, and click mixer.
    b. If the media player is muted, and then turn it back on.

    Also, try the following steps:
    a. Click Start > Control Panel (Classic view)
    b. open hardware and sound > sound >
    c. right-click on the speakers and choose the Set as default option.
    d. check if you are able to hear the sound.

  • MPG video plays but no sound - in Media Player 12

I have files s.o. that play video, but with sound in my new Windows 7 PC with wmp 12.  Strange thing is that files play without this problem in Windows Media Center and in the Sony Vegas Studio software I have installed.  DVD play so I know that I have a DVD codec.

While I have workarounds, it's frustrating.  How can I have it working fine in my previous machines and not in the more recent and Win7 and wmp12?

  • Not a surround sound in Media Player or Quicktime

I have a new PC with sound card integrated VIA HD 1708 on a motherboard ASUS 5QL. I used the HDAudio bridge to ensure that all my speakers work (they do it). • I have Windows 7, but it has Media Player 11 instead of 12 installed. How can I get 12?

My WMP11 suddenly got really slow on me during the synchronization.  What took me 10 minutes to synchronize yesterday takes today more than 7 hours.  I thought I could try upgrading to WMP12 to try to fix the slowness, but I cannot find anywhere that I can actually download the product.  All I find are references it's supposed to be pre-loaded in Windows 7, which is not the case, my 2 month old computer came with Windows 7 and installed WMP11.

Note this link or print the page, then ask Best Buy why they something described as Windows 7, which is not what the machine Windows 7 delivered their expedition.

Editions of Windows 7 - feature comparison

I assume that you checked the WMP to WMP version, help [alt h], approximately.

I also assume that you check your version of Windows 7 in Control Panel, system - make sure that you do not have a version N, K or KN of Windows 7.  They ship without any version of WMP but have a download link * to be able to install it.  [I really don't see how you can have a version N, K or KN, because I don't think that Best Buy sell to countries that have these versions].  * the download link only works for these versions.

WMP11 can, said, be made to run on Windows 7 by using the solutions found on the internet.  If you had done that then the situation would be not so intriguing.  As far as I know, workaround is not in favour of a simple uninstall.

If your Windows 7 is a normal version [N, K, KN] you can load WMP12 by:

Control Panel, programs and features, [left] enable features Windows on or off, media features, set the Windows Media Player box, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

    Hello

It's pretty good, BUT you have to look at what you install in relation to 3rd party programs:

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/k-Lite-full.html

    Read this from SnapFiles:

For info: During our review, we found that this program offers to install promotional, third party components. Installation of these components is optional, but you should pay attention during the installation. Read our policy.
