Windows XP Professional do not start; Strange message in German

As a result of my monitor suddenly change color, I tried to do a system restore. When my computer restarts, it displays a message in German (?): «Der bootsektor dieser floppy wurde neu standing.» Use sie den BACK instruction SYS um sharp floppy boatable zu machen! Bitte legen sie nun eine systemdiskette ins und sie eine taste print drive Assembly. »

Since then, when I restart my computer, it runs through the configuration of the BIOS, but before it reaches the start mode (safe mode, etc.) it displays the above message. At the moment I am able to boot Ubuntu mobile edition of my USB Flash drive.

The problem? I don't have a floppy drive (no disk system restore) or a CD of XP Professional, because it has been installed as a Corporate OS (long story involving deceased father that HE ran the company)... What should I do to restore Windows XP boot-ability?

Then you need to check the BIOS settings.

The adjustment varies so here are some examples that I have accumulated:

The adjustment is done in the BIOS and could be in Integrated Peripherals, Configuration of SATA, SATA Mode device.  After you make the changes, save them and restart your XP installation program.

If you find that the mode is set on the RAID/SATA mode, change the IDE mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA, change the IDE mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA, SATA mode off.

If you find that the mode is set to AHCI, change the ATA mode.

If you find that the mode is set to AHCI emulation Mode, change the IDE emulation mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA, SATA mode off or change the ATA mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA Native Mode, disable the native SATA Mode.

If you find that the mode is set on AHCI/RAID Autodetect, change the combination mode.

After completing the settings, ACCEPT and SAVE changes and reboot the system and see if it will now boot on the CD from Recovery Console.

You can also contact Dell.  Sometimes they cooperate and helpful.  If you find otherwise, hang up and call ack and keep trying until you find someone who is useful.

  • Windows XP Professional does not start in any mode

I have a Dell Latitude D610 & I got it in 2005. Its operation under Windows XP service pack 3 & I do not have all disks is it came with.

I recently received a security update that I got about 15 files corrupt on the laptop, when I went to check what they where I noticed I had to reactivate or buy the license for the software security so I thought I would like to remove this security software that was on it & replace it with the free version of AVG that I use on my home computer.

I could not remove security software that I think Microsoft is up so I tried to install the AVG software in any case. The laptop would not download AVG completely, so I tried to manually remove the files that were corrupted.

Now realizing that it was a mistake, because my laptop won't turn on, show the DELL page & then I see is a black screen, no errors or messages.

I tried & brings me to the Blue & gray setup page, there is a list of folders as follows, most which have a list of the subfolders:

    System

    Onboard devices

    Video

    Security

    Power management

    Maintenance

    Docking station

    Behavior of PUBLICATION

    Wireless

I tried & I can see the black & white boot which reads options page:

Use the arrow keys up and down to move the pointer to the desired boot device. Press [Enter] to boot or ESC to cancel.

    Internal HARD drive

    CD/DVD/CD-RW drive

    Bus card NIC

    Integrated NETWORK interface

    BIOS Setup

    Diagnosis

I tried & I can see black & advanced options menu white page which reads:

    Windows Advanced Options menu

    Please select an option:

    Safe mode

    Safe mode with networking

    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging

    Enable VGA Mode

Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)

Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows controllers only)

    Debug mode

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally

    Reset

    Return to OS Choices Menu

Use top and down arrow keys to move to the highest of your choice

(None of these options work for me)

I also have triedpressing and and then by pressing . Then release both buttons at the same time. It doesn't matter, I thought it would allow me to do a restore on the laptop.

    Any advice would be great?

You can try to run the CD created by one of those AV programs and see if that takes care of it, but I am not confident anything but a clean install will help at this point:

  • get this pop up message "a necessary component of the Windows Media Center has not started properly. Restart Windows Media Center.

    Original title: Windows Media Center

Whenever I try to add videos (or whatever it is) on my media center it will not add and I get this pop up message "a necessary component of the Windows Media Center has not started properly. Restart Windows Media Center.

And I restart it, but it still gives me the same thing whenever I'll add things. I also have the Extender for my xbox 360 and video flies never show there either. A few moments ago, I got this working with my xbox and everyhting showed, now it gives me fits. Can someone please help

    Try this for me:

    Task Scheduler (Local)-> library of Task Scheduler-> Microsoft-> Windows-> Media Center-> MediaCenterRecoveryTask

If this does not work, try this:

    1. open regedit by clicking on the start menu and type "regedit" in the search box and clicking on the link of the regedit program that opens.

    2. go in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

    3. click on the file --> export and save a copy of this portion of the registry where you can find later if you need IT.

4 Note the values in the column of data to "ProgramFilesDir" and "ProgramFilesDir (x 86(). (If you have only one of those that, don't worry. I think that only users of Windows 64-bit will have both, but I don't know.)

    5. If you have a standard installation of Windows, the right for "ProgramFilesDir" column should read "C:\Program Files" and the right column for "ProgramFilesDir (x 86) ' should read"C:\Program Files (x 86)"." If they are not, try changing them to these values. To do this right click on the name in the left column and selecting Edit. Copy the 'correct' value of this message in the data value field in the box that opens. Click OK , and then do the same for the other (if you have two).

    6. RESTART. It will not work until you restart your computer.

    7. Open Windows Media Center and see if the problem is resolved.

  • Firefox does not start "XPCOM" message pop up, my user and passwords! ??

My window 7 was not starting up properly so I did a system restore and now firefox does not start a message appears indicating "XPCOM" and I googled and all is said to reinstall Firefox. I don't usually to reinstall immediately because I need my passwords and username back. I can't find a solution on the forums, or if there is I have not found or I simply did not understand the solution itself. Please get back to me as soon as possible

    Thank you!

Is a restoration of the system to a cancellation of the recent updates or something more radical?

You can do the following type of reinstall without touching your settings files. Important: uninstall NO Firefox first. That is not necessary.

    Clean reinstall it

    (1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 36 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (2) the release of Firefox.

    (3) to rename the program folder

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

    (4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

When you start Firefox, you may need to use the Profile Manager to return to your regular profile. Ignore: copy/paste glitch.

    Any improvement?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

  • Windows Firewall service does not start after the removal of Virus

    Hello

I believe that my son's computer has been infected with the Trojan.Agent.Ed virus.  I managed to remove it (from different folders in AppData), but a few vestiges remain of course.  The windows firewall service does not start - it throws an exception to access denied on startup and when I try to start the service manually.
I tried to run the Sysinternals Process Monitor to display all events ACCESS DENIED and checked the permissions on the key to registry MpsSvc in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services and compared to a corresponding Windows 7 machine.  I've even exported the key MpsSvc and sous-branches of the laptop in good health and tried to import into a failure, but the import does not seem to occur, even if it gives a message "imported".
I also tried the troubleshooting of Windows Firewall that confusedly says:
"Windows could not start the Windows Firewall... Not fixed
"Set permissions for the registry keys involved"... succeeded
"Windows Firewall service is not started. Not fixed
    "Starting the Firewall Service"... succeeded
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

    Hello

    1. do you have security software installed on the computer?

Try the methods provided below and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

I suggest that you disable the security software and then try to start the service and check if the problem persists.

    Note:

Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

You will also need to start long-term services and check if that helps.

To view service dependencies, click the link below.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/srvdep_view_service_dependencies.mspx?mfr=true
