Windows xp professional, freeze problems

commissioning is slow and freeze ups applications occur regularly. I use windows xp professional. Do I have a registry problem?

Hi James,

What applications are freezing?

Many programs loading at startup will slowly start the computer.

Method 1: Check if there is no conflict applications/programs. Try to access the applications in the clean boot:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup.

Method 2: Start the article fixit to solve the performance issue:

Method 3:

Slow PC? Optimize your computer for peak performance

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Windows 7 Professional freezes sometimes - same error message hangs too! Help!

    Hello

Windows 7 Professional installed has been suspended or freezing occasionally in recent weeks and would appreciate advice on how to solve this problem.

Some additional details about my situation:

    • I've been using experienced PC (a HPw1907v with windows 7 Professional installed) for the last few months, but only the problem hanging or freezing in 3/4 weeks.
    • It doesn't seem to be common to the freezing episodes factors - sometimes I run a certain program - sometimes nothing at all.
    • When the PC crashes, I can not access the keyboard (Ctrl/alt/delete etc.) but audio will focus on the race.
    • The only way to get the PC going again is to pass the thing and the new (I know that's not good for the PC) and when the closing error screen appears it is often frozen (other than the countdown to numbers).
    • Sometimes I have to manually restart 2 or 3 times before Windows starts up again (in other words, it will restart but always show a frozen mouse).
    • I tried to install a Microsoft performance fix run and he seems to think there is a problem with programs running at startup-, but being not very PC to read and write, I'm not sure what programs to stop execution etc.

Two important pieces of information are missing from your message.  Is the machine that you are trying to connect to Windows XP Home or XP Pro?  If it is XP Pro, "Simple file sharing" turned on this computer?

In general, here's the sequence that is used to connect to another computer on the network:

    1. If the target computer is XP Home or if the target computer is XP Pro and Simple file sharing is enabled, go to step 4.
    2. If the same user logon name exists on both machines and the passwords for this connection are the same on both machines, the connection is established.  Otherwise...
    3. If the same logon user name exists on both machines and the passwords are different, the connection is refused.  Otherwise...
    4. If the guest user is enabled on the target computer and no password, then the connection is authenticated as the user Guest.  Otherwise...
    5. A window opens asking for authentication information (username / password) for the target computer.  If Simple file sharing is enabled, then you need to authenticate as the Guest user.  If Simple file sharing is not active on the target computer, then you can authenticate you as any user that is recognized by the computer target.

So if when you try to connect, you get the window of connection in step 5, then you should you a change such as something in steps 2 through 4 to intercept the connection attempt.

    Hope this helps,

  • Dual monitor boot problem with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit after installation of any graphics program like a game.

I have built this platform with the help of the owner of a store of 4 cumputer teir 2 years ago. We initially put Windows Vista 32 bit on the system to Vista 64 bit unstable atm. For 2 years, the computer worked like a dream. Last week I made a clean wipe of windows vista and windows 7 professional 64-bit installed. The system has two monitors. The primary monitor is a sony bravia with 26 "led and secondary for watching movies is that a 55 '' led Samsung 1080 p 240 Hz. The graphics card is a geforce GTX 295 nividia. It has 12 GB of Ram and the CPU is an i7 965 @3.20.

The problem I have is this. After the installation of any game average to work with windows 7, the screens to reset their resolutions automatically more than a few times as they are confused. Sometimes, I have to return the screen to its correct resolution after installation in full. Most of the games and then run fine. After installing the game or any game designed for win 7 startup of computers is all messed up for the monitors. After starting hand 26 "sets its resolution and then after about a second 30 pause the computer makes the sound (the double) that it is resolutuons to reset monitor again? After that this second reset about 1-2 minutes the computer is good to go, unless it sets the res evil. The problem is the computer has never done that with vista and it is very annoying say the least. It still freezes the installation of some games. The only way to resolve what I found is the restoration of the system. The computer starts normally and screen ground is defined once she has always been. The only problem is when you install another game, the problem is their new. This problem is worse in some games.

The latest nvidia drivers have been installed. There is no conflict in the device with the exception of an old printer Manager. The two comes is set to 60 hertz. I searched all over the internet and there seems to be a problem with windows 7 without solution. I am at a loss. Any other information that you need let me know and I'll post it. Thank you!

    Hi ancientone618,

It sounds almost as if there is a Windows update that is in conflict with your NVIDIA Driver Installer.  I would say to disable automatic updates of Windows to see if it might help:

  • HP elitebook 8560p, windows 7 Professional 64-bit, freezing issues

My HP elitebook 8560p running windows 7 64 - bit professional had freezing problems. Every few minutes, or if the computer crashes apparently a moment. This may seem like it isn't a big problem, but the sound during this period plays like a little annoying buzz through speakers and headphones. This happens no matter what program plays the sound. Another problem is that during that time what ever I am pressing on is not pressed. so when I write an essay of 5 pages and every few lines does a letter at random, I have a problem. Any advice?

    Hello:

Install an earlier version or uninstall it and see what happens.

This isn't an essential part of the software.

  • Problem drive Installation in Windows XP Professional Version 2002

Hello, I had problems with my Installation of Windows XP Professional disc, that is authentic. I run the Setup, everything is going very well... I get the "Welcome" screen I press F8 and then he said something in the sense of "we see that it is empty and almost died, go buy another drive of installation if you are qualified or something." It is a legitimate disc, I used this before a long time ago, and I have still 3 uses on it. I check my settings, all right, and the computer was made for Windows XP.

Is there something wrong? What I really need to get an old installation disc, which will probably costs me about $ 50 just to get shammed?

    Please answer.

    Thank you

    Voizak Gyrith

1 CD can get damaged or dirty, but...

    2. to learn more, you must provide the exact text of the error message.  It appears from your description of the error message, if you have an installation CD 'upgrade '.  What is the screen that you see? -->

If that's what you see, you will need to find a CD for one of the listed versions.  You should be able to find one of these for not much money... very few people is eager to something like Windows 95 install these days.

    3. you shouldn't be pressing F8... at least not with a normal Windows XP installation CD.  For the sequence of screens, you see, look here--> http://www.theeldergeek.com/xp_pro_install_-_graphic.htm
