Windows Live Mail - Unable to send (from Windows7 64-bit machine)
Hello, I am computer technology in our office. I have four new desktops Windows7 Pro 64-bit at the office, I try to get Windows Live Mail works on. I can receive messages but not send mail. I use the standard port 25 SMTP outgoing; port 110 POP3 for incoming. The e-mail account is fine (accesscomm.ca) and have used it for years. I get the error on the attempt to send TCP. Just for something else to try, I used the same account settings on an HP that has Windows7 32 bit laptop and it worked fine! So is there something specific to the 64-bit version, or is there anything else to check? I have disabled the Windows Firewall and UAC.
Well, well, well. I removed McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.7.0i worm and can send very well now.

How are updates to Windows Live Mail generated?
I downloaded Windows Live Mail shortly before I upgraded to Windows 7. This has worked like a charm and copied on everything from Windows Mail.
Now I wonder how updates are handled. My Windows Update is configured to do the Windows updates only. If there is an update for Windows Live Mail, I will get it with this setting?
I don't want to change my settings, if I can avoid it because I not updated from Microsoft products, I do not use.
Thank you.If you are using Win7, Microsoft Update is your source of default update. As long as give me updates in the same way I receive important recommended updates is enabled, you will be offered updates for Windows Live Mail Security and others installed Windows Live applications.
If a version update of Windows Live Mail or any other installation Windows Live application is available, you will need to update manually via http://download.live.com/ or live.com application-specific page.

Hi Doug MacDonald.
- Did you the latest changes on the computer?
- What web browser are you using to print Web pages?
If you use Internet explorer, then change the margin settings to the title of the page setup in the file menu and check if that helps.
See the articles below and check if it helps.

I work with a Win7 machine and a user with a roaming profile.
The user configures Windows Live Mail with account information and is able to send and receive mail, until the computer is restarted successfully. After the reboot, all account information is lost and the e-mail client must be reconfigured.
Any suggestions?

I know there are a lot of similar problems on this forum but no one has mentioned a problem in the transfer of mail on a hard drive. I completed the following steps:
-Mail exported from Windows Mail on my computer vista laptop to a folder on the desktop
-A tried to save this folder on an external hard drive in order to import messages in Windows Live Mail on my new laptop Windows7.
Copying starts without a problem, but coming up with an error message telling me that the files will be copied without their properties. I can then choose to continue without properties or to cancel the process.
It is for as much as I got - emails are extremely important related to the work of the conversations and I desperately need to transfer! My old laptop is on its last breath and I would like the peace of mind of having saved emails before he dies on me!
Thank you very much in advance for your help
Chloe
Hi - Thanks a lot for this suggestion. I have now managed to cross the emails. I continue when I got the message and it worked - I think that this has been facilitated by uncheck the 'read only' box in the properties of emails before copying.
Thank you so much for all help.

I thought I would be ok to uninstall then reinstall but after uninstalling, the installer says I already live mail installed and there is no option to reinstall. I deleted all the files that I can find regarding this & used a registry cleaner, but always the same result. I have a machine without virus & spyware, Win7 Proff Os. I'm desperate!
Valuable emails with reception details etc are all lost!
What can I do to restore Windows live mail?
