Windows7 preloaded by retailer now not authentic?

Why is my software not genuine after months of use? It came pre-loaded on my new laptop bought at Microcenter in Dallas, Texas. The license on the background information are not legible, does anyone else have an unreadable thumbnail? I am not a technician, and I have no more money. Please help me get mine registered as legitimate and active.

Take it back to the Microcenter.  They cut corners when they installed the software and use a copy of the HP OEM SLP software which does not the SLIC table in BIOS.

Windows license Type: OEM SLP

Activation 2.0 data OEM-->
BIOS valid for OA 2.0: no, table invalid SLIC

There is no way to activate this since you don't have a readable product key on the computer.  Microcenter owes you a BONE.

The alternative is to order recovery disks from HP or a third party such as Recovery - Disks.com.

  • Copy genuine windows 7 shows now not authentic.

I have a genuine copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop.

I got this through a student in 2009 while I was at University. Now, I get a message pops up telling me that I don't have a genuine copy of Windows 7. If I try to go the the installation process of the program, it wants to install it then fails and just says error, very well.

So, I then tried to use the link "Contact us" on the microsoft Web site. Since he thinks that I don't have a genuine copy of windows 7, he wants me to pay £46 just to have someone to email, err jog on.

So I now find myself here ask for help in how I can solve this problem.

Please please please help me before I end up breaking this laptop and spend a fortune on a Mac.

The files do not match above, peut I copy my old hard drive or is - not a possible solution?

I don't think so. Try WGA support and see if they can help.
  • Install KB3024777 to fix a problem with KB3004394 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 now not authentic

    Separated from this thread.

    Joachim

When first pose the problem? Was it before or after the December updates?

KB3004394 and KB3024777 appear in view update history? Or do they appear in installed updates?

Gerry, thanks for your post. I have the same problem as Joachim started this thread. I am running Windows 7 sp1. I have a Dell computer and it's certainly a legitimate copy of Windows (confirmed computer 'properties' and it is enabled).

By your post, I saw just to update and the KB3004394 (installed on 12/10/2014) and KB3024777 (installed on 12/12/2014) show as comfortable. I usually leave the Windows download updates automatically and I install them to stop. I watched the second update and according to Microsoft.com:

Install KB3024777 to fix a problem with KB3004394 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

The KB 3004394 update which was dated December 10, 2014 can cause additional problems on computers that run Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This includes the inability to install future updates. This new update is available to remove KB 3004394 from your computer.

My problem is, as of today 14/12/2014, I still get the pop up "this computer is running not windows genuine', even with KB3024777 installed.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

  • My Windows 7 is now saying that it is not authentic after a virus. Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling everything?

Bought new Dell Office in February, preloaded with Windows 7 Prof 64 bit.  In April, a small problem (maybe a virus) caused several problems, which have been set except my copy of Windows is now reported as not authentic.  I have the product key, but there is no entry under the 'status' of the property line.  A way to solve this problem without having to reinstall all my programs?

original title: Win 7 went from "Genuine" to "not genuine".

Have you tried to restart by phone?

    Activate Windows 7 manually:
    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.

  • Build 7601, not authentic Windows. Can I change OEM Retail?

Windows 7 Home premium OEM worked very well on my PC at home built for 6 months or more. Then I started getting warnings that the version is not authentic. I bought the software from a reputable supplier and I thought that you had to use OEM on a new PC. I did research as much as I can on the subject, but I am reluctant to pay again for a commercial version. Can't understand why MS would allow sales OEM versions to the public if they can only be used by certified computer manufacturers? Is there something I can do? I don't mind paying a small fee if I committed a mistake, but not the entire cost.

Can you help me check it? I have the same problems too

  • Windows 8 Build 9200 not authentic

I bought a Toshiba Satellite C855D - S5357 to Office Max and now 2 years later I get an error code telling me that my version of windows mode not authentic.  I bought this computer from a dealer and it came with windows 8 installed and I am unable to run an update on this PC.  Runs the windows genuine Diagnostics tool simply said as the 'Validation of the OS does not support' and I get an error code when I try to copy the page.

Any advice would help as when I bought this computer at an authorized Microsoft Retailer, I thought that the version of windows installed was a real individual license

To determine the current status, that is Windows, run this command at an elevated command prompt, and then paste the contents of report.txt in your answer:

    Licensingdiag.exe - %userprofile%\desktop\report.txt-log %userprofile%\desktop\repfiles.cab report
  • Selected boot image is not authenticated. Press on < enter > to continue

I just removed the stock HARD disc that came with my M4-1015 x and now I am trying to install windows 7 on the SSD that I replaced it with. However, when you start up I get the message "the selected boot image is not authenticated to. "Press on < enter > to continue" when the laptop tries to read the operating system from the disk. I've never seen this before... any help? (This is a legitimate copy of Windows 7 DVD)

    Thank you.

I fixed it. Of the secureboot to activate and deactivate bootmode inherited so he can work.

  • Get: error in device: device not authentic when you launch the app VirtualBench

When I start the application virtual bench (10 x 64 Windows) I say device error dialog: "device error: device is not authentic" and am no longer able to connect to the device. At one point, I was able to connect to the device via the USB port and also via wifi. I have rebooted the machine, pedaled power, uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled the software virtual bench with no luck. Any advice?

    After an attempt:

-Reset the device via the button on the back of the device of virtual bench

    -remove the installed drivers

    -resettlement of bench virtual application

    -another machine

    -connection via the access point

    -USB connection

    -try a different USB port

Still not had luck. Until finally, I decided to unplug the power on the virtual bench cable and plug it back. Looks like it's a pure reset of some sort. Now, I can connect successfully to the device

  • n005tx Pavilion 15: "selected image is not authenticated to. "Press on enter continue" at the start of the

Hi all, I have a pavilion laptop g6 - 2253ca who works with a windows 8 (64-bit). I have a strange problem since this morning and an error msg "selected image is not authenticated to. "press on enter continue ' that appears when I try to start. I have not installed program on my computer before it happens. I just sailed on the Internet and all of a sudden the screen is grey and the msg appeared on this subject.

I went on several forums for information on this subject. That's what I did:

    -hard reset
    -Restart and boot into BIOS
-Disable secureboot and enable legacy initialization
-Press F10 to save and exit BIOS

    -Restart

-the system asked me to enter a digit of 4 password and press ENTER to apply the changes

-done, but I got stuck another MSG: "no boot device, insert the boot disk and press any key.

Not able to find something else to move to another service I thought that maybe the value default bootable device was not the HARD disk if:
-I restart and boot into the boot F9 Manager
-does not not the same msg (no boot device, insert the startup disk and press a key) is displayed.

Try to run the auto repair using the F11 Recovery Manager, but I can't start on it during startup.

So, what should I do now? I am really disappointed...

    Hello

Try loading at F2 run check disk test hard if that passes you will need a recovery disk. If the hard drive is not detected reinsert the disc hard try to rerun the test if you have the same hard disk problem that went wrong to replace the drive. Please call HP technical support check for warranty and the part replaced.
