  Is your copy of Mozilla's Firefox, or was it provided by your favorite distribution? Maybe your distro added some extra features in Firefox for a better integration. If you haven't already done so, try to download a copy here and see if you get a menu popup long in the executable file:

  I have the weirdest problem ever. I have a computer that does not see my USB, other computers but do not see my USB.
  Now, we tried another usb key (with usbstick I mean a ^_^ usb flash drive) and he DOES not see that stick! My own stick is a SANDISK Cruzer without U3, just ordinary storage 8gigs. None of the firmware see-as-CD. And the other was a different brand, but I don't remember.

  I also tried to plug a very specific device (A P2000 keystrokes recorder, it is a device that recorded incidents, I work for the firedepartment/police/ambulance and it records events), but he doesn't know that aswell of device, as if it has never been plugged in (we have installed the correct drivers for it).

  Now, I did some standard troubleshooting (check drivers, drivers of reupdating) and I removed all the usb drivers, restarted, drivers were back as usual, is not yet connect mine but it connects the other stick. My usb key works perfectly well with all computers but this one (same for the recorder to P2000), reupdated and installed, checked and stuff. Ports SHOULD work.

  More info; It does not take into account the USB and connects anything, even the little blue light inside the usb key does not illuminate. Its as if she was never plugged on. I have a HP compaq laptop and the DVD drive (TSST TS-L632H) disappears for no apparent reason. I did a system restore, which reinstalled the settings and the original software factory. The drive reappeared just after the system recovery, but now it appears and disappears randomly. Microsoft Fix It does not set it. There is no higher or lower than the registry filter. Device Manager does not show it. I have Vista Home premium. Sometimes I boot, and there it is. However, later she disappears.

  Once I opened my computer after the reboot. I saw the disc was present, and then then the Green loading bar was moving until the end on the top of the workstation, I saw the disk disappears.   I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I used it without a problem for several months. But lately I had a very slow internet connection, no matter what program I use to. The same computer dual-boots with Windows XP: XP connects to Windows 7 to 0.3 Mbps and 8 Mbps.

  Security software: Avast and Comodo (use every two months with no problems).

  System Restore has been disabled by mistake, there is no restore points for trying.

  I tried EVERYTHING to fix this! I tried:
  -disabling auto tuning (this greatly improved navigation on the web, before pages would take ages to load, but the download speeds are still slow)
  -Disable IPv6
  -Disable Windows Firewall

  Re-setup of ethernet card
  -Re-installation of network card
  -uninstall the Windows updates (those I was actually able to uninstall)
  -boot by using the system configuration to start without starting programs or non-Microsoft services
  -reset the TCP/IP stack
  -safe mode with networking
  -disabled the DHCP broadcast flag
  -change the heuristics of Windows scaling (since he says this overrided other parameters) and the provider settings control congestion

I don't know what happened to the previous window, I am now using the same drivers, same software, except perhaps the earlier had too many junks (I think this is the classic problem with windows, after sometimes he collected too and begins to act dumb)

  Short version of my problem is the following. I have a Dell Inspiron 530 w/Vista. I recently had to reinstall Vista to a deformation of the BONE. Now that everything is reinstalled and updated, everything is too small. Text is about a size 4, web pages appear with all focus on areas on each side w/empty space.

  I already tried to change the resolution but other dimensions make the screen either too wide or too high, I tried to change the dpi to 120, which still has not resolved the smallness. I'm at my wits end, trying to figure out what the issue could be and would love other suggestions to try.

  You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you shoulddo at least for video cards and monitors and all you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

  In Internet Explorer, click Page in the toolbar of the order (if it is not there, do a right-click on the toolbar with the tabs, and then check the toolbar command to add) and access the Zoom and text size and see if the setting solves those problems with this program (I often accidentally hit the shortcut key causing that to happen and it always fixes it).

  If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

  Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here.  A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.
