DVD player not detected, tried a lot of bugs
Hello
I would appreciate help. I have the same problem. I worked for a week by applying the fixes without result. I crossed SpiritX suggestions, but still no solution. I have a HP compaq laptop and the DVD drive (TSST TS-L632H) disappears for no apparent reason. I did a system restore, which reinstalled the settings and the original software factory. The drive reappeared just after the system recovery, but now it appears and disappears randomly. Microsoft Fix It does not set it. There is no higher or lower than the registry filter. Device Manager does not show it. I have Vista Home premium. Sometimes I boot, and there it is. However, later she disappears.
Once I opened my computer after the reboot. I saw the disc was present, and then then the Green loading bar was moving until the end on the top of the workstation, I saw the disk disappears. I tried to take out the drive and put it in, does not help. If I do the system restore to a time when the player was present, after restoring it is not yet present. I wonder if Windows DVD Maker is causing conflicts. I can't find any other software, not to mention that of Dvd burning. I can't uninstall DVD Maker because it is part of the operating system. Any ideas? Help, please!
God bless you
J.
Hello
Step 1: You can also check with the manufacturer to check if they have any firmware update that could solve the problem.
Step 2: If this is not the case, try to connect the CD/DVD drive to another computer and see if the problem still occurs.

CD/DVD drive not detected in 'my computer '.
Ok. That is the problem. A few weeks ago, I couldn't find my CD/DVD device in 'my computer '. I read the solution involving the modification of the registry. Scary stuff, I know, but I did everything very carefully and removed the filters superiors and inferiors, and Wallah, it worked and my CD/DVD device appararurent again and I was able to open a CD and look at the files. The same thing happened again, but when I look at the registry fix again he has no less and the top filter to remove. I ran all kinds of diagnostic tools Microsoft Mr. Fix and after execution, gently, he finally tells me "the CD/DVD device not detected. Well, DOH! I already knew! But how to fix it? I have a HP laptop with a build in the drive. When I put a CD in the tray and close it I hear all the normal whirring etc of the currently playing disc, but nothing happens. Absolutely nothing - a bit like these emails that promise miracles that if you pass them on to 10 people, absolutely nothing happens. Please help - in non-technical terms please. I am a user of the computer, not a grumpy, instructions must be simple. Oh, I must add, after reading other topics of the forum, my tray works perfectly. I can load and unload CDs. Finally, my CD/DVD drive IS NOT doesn't appear in Device Manager if no suggestion re clicking on the disk or drive in Device Manager. IT is NOT THERE.

DVD player, not visible and detected
Hello
I am using windows 7 home 64 bit on HP Pavilion dv4-3031tx laptop. A few months ago I changed my DVD rom HP service center drive as the engraving option did not work. After changing, it was working fine. Now, the drive is not visible when I opened my computer. I installed all the drivers again from the recovery manager supplied by HP recovery disk, but it is still the same. Strange thing is when I insert my recovery disc and restart my boot of seleting for laptop to DVD option, can detect the disc and the approaches for installing the OS. If possible, I want to slove this problem rather than reinstall windows recovery disk I have tons of programs installed in HD. Please give an effective solution. I'm really worried.
Thanks in advance.
It's a pretty common problem and there is a Microsoft Autofix to this:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116
You can run the automatic setting, but I had more chance to do manual registry change which is also described on the link.
This is called the problem of upper/lower case filters and is the very low level driver built-in to Windows.
-
DVD player is not listed in my computer and Device Manager. No upper or lower filters shown in the registry. If I put a disc in the DVD drive, it starts the rotation and then stops. Tried to detect the hardware in the Device Manager, but did not. Tried to install the driver, but the system indicates that the driver is the last. Tried to Fix It, but an error that indicates the CD/DVD drive is not detected. Remember, not all new software installed. How we solve it? Or is this a hardware problem?

DVD player not recognized; error code 10
Our Museum has a Dell Optiplex 745 on which the XP operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 Professional. The DVD drive is not recognized, and the error code 10 stipulates that the driver could not be loaded. I tried upgrading the driver online, but I was told that the driver installed is the right one for this player. If I remove the drive with the machine on, uninstall the driver, stop and then restart and then restarting to reinsert the DVD, the computer recognizes the drive and install it and it works. When you restart the computer the next morning, the car disappeared again. Would appreciate any help I can get!
Thank you!

Reader of CD-ROM/DVD-Rom not detected/recognized
Earlier today, my DVD drive was working fine. My laptop a HP Pavilion dv9000 shut down on its own. When I restarted, the computer doesn't recognize any DVD/CD, I tried to insert.
I ran auto Microsoft fix this program, but after several times it would not work and could not fix the drive, because he could not detect it. I also tried to delete the upper and lower registry (which has worked for me before, when this problem happened), but no record was available for me to remove it. I tried to find the drive in Device Manager, but were unable to locate him.
What can we do?

Code 39 CD/DVD drive not detected
Hi, I had to reinstall Vista because my files were corrupted by using Microsoft e-mail support. I tried to install Windows service pack 2, but it would not be installed. After repair corrupt Vista files and finally get service Pack2 installed, I have had to reinstall a software disc that came with my computer Dell. The cd/dvd drive makes noise but does not read the disc. I logged on the Dell support site and follow their recommendations without success. I have downloaded the recommended bios and firmware dvd, uninstalled Roxio Creator and dvd driver but the system goes on to say that the drive is not detected. Finally, I called Dell and, of course, only the equipment is under warranty and I can't afford to pay for the software support. My computer is 8 months old and I rarely use the dvd player. It worked fine before these repairs and upgrades. My system is Vista 64-bit with service pack 2. According to Device Manager, my dvd player is number model PLDS DVD +-RW DS - 8A3S. BTW, as part of my purchase last summer that I was sent disk to upgrade to Windows 7 for free. I didn't want to hassle with installation at the time, but after pass by all this... should I go ahead and upgrade to Windows 7 after I receive my dvd player work?
Hello
Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.
Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the total process
which solves the problem.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.
Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

Also check with your system manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for your DVD. Or
even if there is 'old', you can reinstall. However, many use the default Windows drivers
Some will be more special. Also check the website of the manufacturer of the car.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

CD/dvd-rom not detected by Windows
I have the same problem as the previous people, except that I can't download Mr. Fixit. I get an error message. I've had friends get into my computer to find my DVD - ROM drive and they can't find it. They have removed upper and lower filters and may not always know where the cd/dvd-rom drive disappeared.
Anyone know how I can download or access Mr. fix it so I can start trying to solve the problem
I get a microsoft error message that says this:
We're sorry, but we met an unexpected problem and cannot complete this diagnostic solution. You can use the link below to create a shortcut to our solutions set and try again later.Place a shortcut on my desktop for Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services fix it solution

Install on MacBook Air - DVD player not recognized
Strange problem.
Just picked up my MacBook Air today and went to install VMWare Fusion. Plugged in an optical dvd/cd drive and it is recognized by OSX - the disc appears on the desktop and I can navigate it very well.
I launch Fusion and he sees not the drive - no button continue unless I keep the DVD player. The second screen does not see the CD/DVD.
What I am doing wrong? Seems if OSX saw the disc, it would be the merge. It's a serious iso on a DVD of MSDN Windows 7 x 64.
Going along for an hour trying to understand this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
She was told that I need to run vmware, rather than worrying with bootcamp or parallels.
Thank you!
JOHNHM, test this point, I expected it to work, but in my results, I was not able to make reognized on my MacBook Air.
I tested and then on one of our test machines (which is a bit outdated, running 10.6.5 and missing the update of the firmware to 2.0 EFI) and it worked.
We have improved this test to 10.6.6 machine and it no longer works.
So it seems that Apple has changed something, and who broke our EasyInstall to physical DVD drive detection.
Therefore, you can create a disk image using disk utility and install using that for now until we work with Apple in order to understand who has bug is.
Here's our KB for how to do this:

DVD player not working not not since upgrading to Windows 10?
Improved to win 10 of Win 7 and now cannot get my DVD player to work. Checked info from Device Manager which advises (Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration in the registry information is incomplete or damaged (code 19).) I tried to remove and reinstall the DVD player, but the error message still appears. Any ideas of how to solve my problem?
My last resort would be to roll back to Windows 7 if I can't figure it out. : confused:I have the same problem with my SATELLITE A500 - 19(d) is code19 drivers must not be installed correctly.

DVD player not working not not Satellite Pro A100 - Code 37 error
Hello
Someone help on this?
I have an A-100 and the DVD player has stopped working in XP. I checked the Device Manager and see XP disc but returns this error "Windows cannot initialize the device of this hardware driver. (Code 37) »
I also noticed that ASAPI.sys is not running in the Task Manager.
I'm guessing this has something to do with the problem.
I tried to reinstall the device drivers, but this made no difference. Any suggestions?
Hello
Error code 37 means the driver returned failure from its DriverEntry routine.
You can try to delete the driver from Device Manager and rebooted the new OS should recognize the drive device and initialize the driver again. If this is not enough, try this procedure:
Run REGEDIT and open the following folders:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
-> SYSTEM
-> CurrentControlSet
-> Control
-> Class
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}After you click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} you should see two settings on the right side:
"Upperfilters".
'Lowerfilters '.Click on each of them, press DELETE, and then click YES.
Then restart the laptop and see if it was useful.

DVD player not working not not on Sat 1800-614
Hello
I bought a Satellite 1800 614 3 years ago, provided with a DVD player. At this time there is no problem to read the DVD. I did not use it for a while and when I tried to use it I discovered that it does not read new DVD, I can see the movie but the two images and audios are dispersed and disrupted last year. It only works with the old DVD (2001-2002) and DVX and so on...
I was told that it is because they changed the format of DVD or something like that. Can you help me to fix it? Is it possible to update the BIOS any help? Maybe the firmware? You know the one that I need and where I can find it? I tried to update the drivers for DVD but it seems that he does not accept the change. Do you know how to update the drivers too?
THANKS TO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP! I HAD THIS DVD PLAYER AND I NEVER GOT TO USE IT!
Hello
I put t know if you tried, but you can try to install some beyond news who is responsible for playing movies on dvd (files)
