  • Windows Explorer stops working whenever I have connect a USB flash drive and try to access

    Hello. I use Windows Vista.

I had a particular problem. Whenever I have plug in a USB key and try and access it, I get a pop saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working." the file is closed. If I wait a long time (i.e. 10 seconds), I might be able to get into the drive without any problems, but even when there is no guarantee. The problem persists in each USB slot I use. In addition, it is not that the computer is not able to detect it. It can detect and identify that it is a USB flash drive. It's just that whenever I try to access (or the folders inside the flash player), windows Explorer stops working and restarts.

Does anyone have this problem before? And any help is appreciated. Thank you.

The mistake made reference the MSVCR80.dll, which is a Microsoft file, but it may be another third party file, causing the problem.

    DivX is installed?

If so, can you uninstall DivX and see if the error resolves.

  • When I try to add to quick launch Explorer stops working and restarts. It used to work fine.

I drag or right-click and click "Add to quick launch" windows Explorer stopped working and restart. It used to work fine but no has not for a while since an update.

It could be a problem of shell extensions. These shell extensions are responsible for creating the options you will see in the menu when you right click on a file using Windows Explorer.

    Troubleshooting Windows Explorer errors
    http://www.HelpWithWindows.com/techfiles/Explorer-crashes.html

The ShellExView is a stand-alone executable. It does not require any installation or additional dll process. Simply copy it to any folder you want, then run. Once you run it, wait a few seconds until ShellExView charge all shell extensions.

The rule is to turn off non-Microsoft extensions. Click on the "Type" column, you will now see the context menus in the group. Now, try to disable all non - Microsoft Shortcut Menus (with light pink background) and see if the problem goes away. If it has been re - activate the context Menu one by one by checking every time if the problem returns until you got the culprit.

  • Windows Explorer stops working when USB drive is ejected

    Hi all

I'm having a problem with the windows Explorer. When you eject a USB device, windows Explorer stops working and must restart. It also stops working when trying to get the properties of the USB device. I watched "Event Viewer" and there is an error log that says this:

The failing application name: Explorer.EXE, version: 6.1.7601.17567, time stamp: 0x4d672ee4
Name of the failed module: SHLWAPI.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7c9ab

Now, I had this problem on my home computer and tried to replace the file SHLWAPI.dll with whom I had the internet, but it bugged my computer and had to re - install windows. Now, this computer works fine. I would get a solution to what keeps all my files and programs since to reinstall all my programs and backup my files on my computer to school will be a big hassle.

I have a laptop Equium A210. Why does windows Explorer stop working and restart all the time?

Maybe you have messed your OS and now OS doesn't function properly.
Have you tried to restore the operating system from the recovery CD?

If this isn't the case, then do it. The whole HARD drive will be formatted and the recovery CD to install the image of Toshiba which contains the OS, driver, utility and software tools extra.

    This should help.

    Hello

Try these and it can also be a good idea to update your main drivers later. The General corruption can also play a
role in this issue. And even the TCP/IP stack might need to be refreshed.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you ALREADY had on this
machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

If no joy there's something blocking perhaps.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - IE with no Addons - what works best?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on reset all default areas - apply / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

    not better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit
are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program to ask about it here.

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all
are bad, but some can cause your question (toolbars are BHO).

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This

  • Windows Explorer stops working when loading Photos

I have read most of the messages of the community on this subject and tried without success. I am trying to copy pictures from my SD card to record pictures. It worked fine without problems in the past. Now when I do it, Explorer stops working, and a message appears, "Windows Explorer has stopped working - Windows Explorer is re-start", and the explore program stops. Doing so the bar tasks disappears and then reappears as if the PC starts. I would be grateful to know if someone had a similar problem and found a solution?

Found a box that prevents the bios to booting from anything other than the hard drive in the BIOS, under Security.  Stupid because it still allows you to change the order of boot without any error message.

Once I changed I could boot from the cd and fix corrupted files.

  • Windows Explorer stops working, then restarts

Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer stops working, then restarts whenever a windows in the start menu program is closed. In some programs in the start menu, such as Documents, pictures, music, games, computer, control, devices and printers, ect. The error message indicates that windows Explorer has stopped working and controls a solution. Then after about 10 seconds, all the desktop icons disappear, and then looks like windows Explorer restarts itself. I am running windows 7 since an upgrade of Vista. I reinstalled windows 7 upgrade kit and done all the recommended solutions to various web pages, but the problem persists. I talked to tech support and they say that, perhaps, some of the registry files are corrupted. The problem does not occur when I start the computer in safe mode. I have updated all drivers and updates of the window. I don't have a disk of Vista orginal software. Can I fix this on my own?

    Hi Michaeldaz,

As the problem does not persist in safe mode, I suggest that you perform the clean boot procedure to check whether a third-party program installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps!

  • Windows Explorer stopped working/restart, it continues to appear randomly.

I have a new computer with Windows 7 and I'm starting to wish I had kept the old one. I get the message Windows explore stopped working folled by the one who says it will restart. There is no reason for it but I can't see at the end of a chapter of an assignment without him doing this and close all programs. Can it be fixed or is at - it something wrong with my computer?

I would appreciate all the help I'm losing patience with her.

The steps that I want to tell you is not worth with vista

Try to use the System File Checker to scan your operating system for missing/corrupt files, perform the following steps:
    1. start and type cmd in the box start the search.
    2. in the area of results, right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator. You will be asked to type the password for an administrator account. If you are the administrator or type the administrator password, click on continue. Then click on continue.
    3. at the command prompt, type Sfc/scannow, and then press ENTER.

The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista CD.

Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!
