Specific update for Windows on Windows 7 disables the internet connection in Internet Explorer
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. 10/14/2010 my computer installed something around 18 updates to Windows. Immediately after the restart, I couldn't get an internet connection on Internet Explorer. My computer tells me I have 90% Wi - Fi, but I get nothing on Internet Explorer. I restored my computer to until I installed updates, and immediately after the restart of the internet worked well. I decided then to individually install each update of Windows one by one and found a specific update that causes this problem on my computer. It's "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 x 64-based Systems (KB2360131). I am able to install all the updates, only this specific one stop my internet to view Web pages.
On a side note, I have another computer with Vista, and this computer shows no problem after installing all updates. I don't want to change my settings to manually install updates, I love that they install automatically, but that just doesn't work if this particular day keep install and maintain close my internet. Any suggestions as to why it continues to be?
Thank you![I turned first on my new computer on 30 August.] I tried to activate [the 60 days Norton free trial] in the first week or two, so maybe between 7 September - 14 September... not [uninstall before I installed MSE] however.
You must have activated the free trial immediately (i.e., August 30), not a week or two later. In addition, you should have uninstalled Norton free trial AND download / run the Norton Removal Tool BEFORE you installed Microsoft Security Essentials.
I suspect that you see the effects of a hijackware infection. Chances are that your computer is already infected at the time wherever you tried to activate the free trial of Norton. See...

Previously I could not any internet connection at all, so all excited and then back on again! To conclude that, although I now connect to Internet Explorer, for some strange reason, I can now retrieve emails!
If anything, I'm wrong dong - can no idea what, someone point me in the right direction? No point in communicating with BT (ISP) like all they will say is that I have a connection, if you see what I mean.
Any help, really really appreciated
What happens if you try to send you a message? He sent? Error messages?
If you have a router, unplug it for 10 seconds and plug it in again. Give it time to reset and then do the same for the modem. Finally, close all programs and restart.
There is no doubt in my mind that BT will say everything's fine, but my money is on a temporary server glitch and nothing on your end.

Next day same thing so I disabled all updates and no problem. What new update windows made in the last few days which is the cause and what can I do?
Thank you

Unable to connect to internet explore
Hello-i'm having a problem connecting to internet explorer.itunes work very well, that tells me that I'm on the internet.yesterday I tried to play a movie and something came to say it was a virus and I pushed the button that says internet traffic stop and now I get an error # 0 x 81000109 and I can't access the internet explorer.i uses my phone friends to send you this.my phone # is 907-748-6962. any help would be appreciated.thanks, william rosenlof
According to your antivirus software, you must remove the virus, reboot and traffic let, I Don t know if the anounsment was Windows, such as Windows or your reliable antivirus (you have uploaded yourself or paid).
Windows = it can only be Windows Defender, trust him.
As Windows = the anounsment is an Ad-Ware, get an anitspyware (I recommend Spyware Doctor (Paid), but here they talk a lot about MalwareBytes).
Trust antivirus = some security sites allows you downdoad definitions in a file, looking for who, or get a new antivirus or upgrade to the latest version (Norton has a Norton Upgrade center or the customers of s) -

Unable to connect to Internet Explorer or Chrome, Google, I suspect sabotage
Last week, I contacted Linksys for advice on my router. I wanted to know if I should replace it because it's quite old and my new computer was really very slow. He was very violent and spent about two hours to get cables changing cables and the settings in my computer. After about two hours of this nonsense, he told me that I had no access to internet, which indeed I did when I called him. My provider is Verizon DSL. Now, after all of his actions, my problem is more serious, I can't connect to Google, Internet Explorer, or any other site that requires internet access. It appears sometimes, sometimes not. Our conversation became quite heated at one point and he hung up. I wonder if he sabotaged my computer out of spite. I know it sounds paranoid, but I'm an older woman who have not grown up the acquisition of computer skills. I took lessons and do my best to follow. It was so insulting to me, I wonder if he did something to deliberately to ruin me more out of spite. Of course I had reported him Linksys and they told me they had no record of my call. I am a pensioner and R.N and I met some psychopaths in my time. Could you tell me as to how I could check that everything is as it should be on my brand new computer. I have the icon wireless turned on on my computer. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Click Start > in the line run, enter 'Command', right-click on the link than apperas in the search box and click "Run as Administrator", at the entrance to command line "netsh int ip reset" and press on enter, after that the machine works through its process, then restart it.
Microsoft had a bad wifi update recently decommissioned wifi on laptops a lot, a lot, and you need to reset your netsh ip stack to restore your connectivity.

I've upgraded to Firefox 8 and I can't establish an internet connection to any webpage via Firefox. I removed the Firefox program and re-installed through Internet Explorer with the same results.
One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

Wireless connects, but internet does not work
My wifi signal is strong. My computer says that it is connected. Diagnosis shows the signal is stable, but when I open a browser, it does not connect. It just seems to take forever, but nothing ever happens in Safari. Chrome has said, "there no internet connection. Your computer is offline. "and that Firefox says: 'server not found '.
I tried the Ethernet connection, but it's the same story. Computer indicates recognition signal, but it will never truly connect. It will connect in Safe Mode, however.
I don't know if this is related, but iTunes does not work either. I open and just get the reel spinning forever. It is said he is unresponsive, and I force quit.
Here is some information that might be useful:
-iPhones and MacBook in the House are fine to connect to Internet.
-My internet company just came and installed a new router/modem. We had a few problems before (this is why they came to reinstall the hardware), so I don't know if this has something to do with him or not.
