Wireless keyboard is not properly functoning

Hello

I recently bought a HP OMNI 120-1115 in a pc comes with windows 7 Home Basic preinstalled. I have upgraded to windows 8 Microsoft's offer for users who have bought a PC after June 2 BOF Rs. 699.

Everything else works fine apart from the aspect of the wireless keyboard, as the keyboard drivers are messy.

"When I try to press shift + 2 instead of @ I get."

and if I press Shift + "I get

When I press Shift + 3 I £

When I press Shift +------I get ~.

and so on and so forth, which seems to happen for only these special characters.

How can I fix, because I can't seem to find the drivers for the same on the HP site and it worked fine on windows 7.

David

Well guessed my free hope this helps others too.

Go to control panel of control-> language
and to change your preferred language, select options from the selected list. in your case, it would be English (United Kingdom)

Entry method, then click on the 'add an input method' in the next screen select English (India) Touch keyboard Layout and add it using the button located below the list. It should work even without having to restart the system or even after rebooting the system

  • HP Pavilion g7-1365dx: wireless keyboard does not work.

I have a combination and connected mouse microsoft wireless keyboard to my laptop.  The mouse recently 'died' and replace the batteries with new Energizer batteries did not help.  I bought a new Logitech mouse and installed the new USB connector and the mouse worked flawlessly.  However, the wireless keyboard does not work now.  If I reinstall the 'old' or the original USB, the wireless keyboard connector works fine.  The new mouse does not work with the original USB connector.  So now I have two USB connectors that are connected to the computer to make the functional keyboard and mouse.  Is there a solution to eliminate one of the USB connectors?  I realize that the brand of the mouse and keyboard are different.  This is the problem and if so can it be fixed?

    Hi ECJ-10,

Well, you answered your question yourself. They are different products, so you need 2 USB receivers.

The alternative is to get a replacement of microsoft mouse if it is still under warranty, they usually do.

    Hope this helps.

  • Microsoft wireless keyboard will not type the letter 'c' or type the number "3".

My wireless keyboard will not let me type the let type me the letter 'c' or type the number "3". This works sometimes! Help please!

This is a Microsoft wireless keyboard 3000 v2.0. It came with a mouse aswell which is working as expected.

    Any ideas? It's so frustrating!

If you can, try the keyboard on another PC and try a different keyboard on your PC. If the keyboard has the same thing on another PC and another keyboard works well on your PC, it is "side on" hardware failure. Assuming that it is hardware failure, if it is under warranty GET it replaced, it is not you will have to buy a new one.

Please mark this as useful or response if applicable.

  • my wireless keyboard does not work on the letter and number keys.

It seems to be connected to the computer, because it does not work on the control button and snooze sound

    Hello

-Have you made any recent hardware / software changes prior to this question?

-What is the brand and model of wireless keyboard?

Method 1: run the hardware troubleshooter.

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

Method 2: update a hardware driver that is not working properly

    (a) open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and security, and then, under system, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    (b) in the list of hardware categories, find the device you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
    (c) click on the driver tab, click Update driver, and then follow the instructions. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

Method 3: resynchronize your device with the receiver

To resynchronize the mouse or the keyboard with the receiver, follow these steps.

Note When you synchronize the mouse or the keyboard le clavier with the receiver, place the device near the receiver and store other keyboards and wireless mouse at least 6 feet.
    1. press the button on the receiver and check that the light on the receiver starts flashing.
Note Some newer devices from Microsoft are subject to their receiver and cannot be reset. If your device has a button, go to method 2.
    2. If a dialog box appears on the screen in seconds, follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Otherwise, continue to the next step.
    3. press and release the Connect Channel button on the bottom of the mouse or the keyboard.
    4. check the green light on the receiver. A continuous green light means that the synchronization was successful. If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 to 4.
    5. for the Wireless Notebook Mouse: this issue can occur if the micro-switch on the bottom of the mouse is not released. Use a PIN or pen to try to release the button, if it is pressed.

    Hope this information helps.

  • model x 64 wireless keyboard is not very functional

I bought the HP Envy 700-229C at Costco in Vancouver, British Colombia in late June of this year and now I found that my wireless keyboard SK-2061 model does not work very well as most of the time I keep typing, but many words does not top, or very slow to appear, I thought that can be exhausted batteries then I replaced with new rechargeable batteries a few times, it has not improved for medium muchwhich same problem occurred.

This worked well enough from July until mid-August, but after that, the problem happened as mentioned. Since my office the total value is still under warranty, can you please confirm if you will get a new functional keyboard soon or what.

Looking forward to hear from you by return with TKS.

I understand that you are having problems with your keyboard on your newly purchased HP ENVY 700 - 229C desktop PC and you want to see when it is possible to replace your keyboard. As the problem you describe is a physical problem, I think it would be better if you contact HP Support for service options. Here on the HP Forums we can help a lot of things, but cannot exchange anything under your warranty, which must be done through HP Technical Support.

I want to thank you for display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Pavilion 550-122nd: mouse and wireless keyboard do not work before Windows starts (10)

The wireless keyboard and mouse (that came with the computer) do not work until Windows is started.

I want to make a (ghost) image of my hard drive using the boot CD Norton ghost 15.0 (but it also applies to other bootable devices).

When the CD boots and the program starts I have to click a button (OK / accept) to continue. At this point the wireless keyboard and mouse are not active jet. This is why I can't continue.

Use a USB keyboard gives the same result (also not active at this point).

Is there a solution / work around for this?

    Thank you.

On the pilots seems plausible. Especially because on my laptop (older) with Windows 10 CD bootable (like Norton Ghost) don't Duke keyboard and mouse.

I'll have a look at the new version of the BIOS and start looking for new tools that will accept my keyboard (and mouse).

    Thank you.

The charge of wireless keyboard battery is no longer, the powerbutton doesn't work anymore, what can I do?

I know that the computer is old, but maby it is a solution for this problem.

    > The battery to the charge of wireless keyboard is more, the power button doesn't work anymore, what can I do?

You are not able to turn on the laptop?
HM looks like a laptop computer s hardware problem and maybe that is the reason why external Wlan keyboard don't invoice not the laptop is dead and so the keyboard do not work

Why the laptop does not power upward?
Hmmm. issue of goo. Perhaps the AC adapter is dead and can not provide the power of portable and laptop battery is dead too.
This is possible, but in most cases it s not the reason why in most cases, the motherboard could be defective

However, only the laptop technician can check the hardware parts and could provide more details

  • Re: Satellite L350-145 - keyboard does not properly

    Hello

I came here hoping that someone might be able to help.

Suddenly, some time ago my keyboard started to behave a bit strange. The arrows of the cursor type letters rather than direct me to the top or the bottom of a page (letters hkl instead of captiti, of left and right that will take the arrow to the left will take back you a space but only after type h). The zero on the numeric keypad is always followed by 3 (03). The z moves to the (invisible) to somewhere else on the page and you must use the touchpad to get back to your place and often using theshift key for the CAPITALS can create chaos as you continue to type without realizing that you're somewhere else on the page.

It's starting to really annoy me. Scroll to my itunes is a disaster - I am always taken to artists starting on the letter k!

Someone suggested an electrical short-circuit on the keyboard, but I don't know what I should do to solve this problem, if this is indeed the problem. Can anyone help? Oh yes, one? is always followed by a p and / is also followed by p and -always followed by a w.
I have plugged and used a USB keyboard and everything works fine so I know it's the laptop and not the operating system.

    your in great hope!

    Thank you

PS - I'm not that tekkie so simple tips you know would like to thank - I have no idea what a BIOS is!

    Thanks again

    Hi Jennifer,.

    > I have plugged and used a USB keyboard and everything works fine
So the case is clear: your internal keyboard is faulty and you need a new. As you wrote, if an external keyboard is working properly, it s not related to the operating system.

In my opinion, you should contact the closest service provider authorized in your country. These guys you can get a new keyboard and they can trade for you. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair is free and if not, the keyboard isn't so expensive.

Here is a list of all ASP s:

    Good luck! :)

  • HP Pavilion dv6 keyboard works not properly

    Hello

I use a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop running Windows 7 for about a year and a half.  Recently (I can't say exactly when) I noticed that my keyboard does not work properly.  There is nothing huge, but sometimes I have to push a button twice before she will comply, or it will be delayed in its response.  Another thing is that I originally used to have to hold the function key and press the space bar at the same time turn off the light that surrounds the touchpad. Now, I just simply press the function key (not now) and, no matter how many other keys I press on in the meantime, the next time that I press the space bar, the light turns off.  It's both distracting and frustrating because I need to press the space bar to operate normally.

My drivers are all up to date.  I tried to remove them and reinstall them. I changed a few settings in the Bios, and then reset the default settings, all to nothing does not.  I would appreciate any idea or you guys can offer me solutions.

    Thank you!

    Hi El Nacho,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion dv6 and keyboard problems. Here is a link to uninstall the keyboard. Restart the computer after the uninstall, it must be reinstalled automatically.

Have you tried to take a little air to the keyboard to see if maybe it's dust or debris which initially are intermittent use?

    Thank you.

  • Microsoft MultiMedia 1.1 wireless keyboard does not work - Windows 7 64 bit

Keyboard does not work.  Does not enter any data.  Battery is good, the wireless signal is good.  Tested on another computer and does not work there either.  Tried to uninstall, reinstall and checked for driver updates. Original installation disk is incompatible with Windows 7.  Message says device is working, but the keyboard is "dead."

    Appreciate the suggestions, pls.  TX

Not a good sign that it does not work on another computer. Go to control panel > devices and printers. If the keyboard doesn't appear as an installed device, think of it as dead and buried.

Windows identifies devices of small IC boards inside the devices and guess they are ok. Windows cannot do is determine if the keyboard membrane makes contact with the small IC Board...
