Wireless options... can be a wireless desktop computer?

I want to put my computer in a room where there is access to the internet using the cat5 cable. Is there a wireless card or something available to make it wireless? I have a HP m8200n.

Hello

You can choose PCI Wireless (if you have a free PCI slot) or the USB wireless card. Here and here , you will find links to these products on the newegg site.

The manufacturer was required to provide a way to reinstall Windows.

If it is not a set of disks with the computer, there will be a hidden restore partition (do not be confused with the system restore), you would use to return the computer to the State of the OOBE (Out of Box Experience).

Usually, just by pressing F11 continuously during the computer startup to display a boot menu offering the option you need.

I decide to upgrade my videocard to a GTX 960 a GTX 645. My question is if I can spend in the first place (I'm not the most ideal for this kind of situations). The exact specifications of my computer is listed here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04337197 . The exact information of my video card is shown here: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-960/specifications .

Please help I'm dying for a response

    Greetings,

    Seems good.

960 is 9.5 inches in length and requires a power of 400 W.

Check the clearance in the tower. Measure along the 645 to verify that you can adapt a 9.5 inch to 10-inch card in the case.

Hard drive cage can be in the way.

Check that your has a PCIe auxiliary cable as the 960 supply requires six extra pins to connect. The manufacturer will usually provide an adapter if you need. Or you can get one online.

I plan to upgrade my hp pavilion 500-342nem, who was already A7 graphical 240 with the new 480 RX.

Is it possible to upgrade both the power supply and graphics card?

There will be no problem of compatibility (PSU Corsair CX 500 questioned?.)

I heard a lot of chatter on hp restricting the upgrade of their pc.

    The new card will work?

    Any help will be apppreciated.

    @Jeffrin98, welcome to the forum.

I cannot find the specs of the product to the computer.  So, here's what you need to do.  Press Start + R from the view of the office.  This will open a run dialog box.  In the box labeled type msinfo32 opened.  In the page that opens, check the option titled Mode BIOS.  If he says UEFI motherboard is supported by the video card.  If this isn't the case, you will not be able to move forward.

The next step is to measure the space where the card will be installed to ensure that it fits.  Measure from the back i/o port to the front of the case.  This will allow you to see if other ingredients will limit the installation.

The CX500 Corsair power supply (PSU) should work.  However, check how much power requires the video card.  It may be better to buy a PSU with 600W.  High power will be used during peak power needs.  In addition, the card may require additional power connectors.  Also, I recommend a modular power supply.  It allows you to use only the cables that are absolutely necessary, create better air circulation.  It is very important with more powerful graphics cards.  The heat can be much larger.

I only am not computer savvy very please tell me how to clean my desk I have icons in every sense that I am not keed.

Simply RIGHT click on each icon/shortcut on the desktop > click on delete.

Note: Make sure that the 'icons' are NOT real files you store it somehow on the desktop. (Some people who do).
If you do not have some people, move them to a folder on your computer.

Unwanted shortcuts can be deleted that I describe above.

    Addition of...
The shortcuts of all Celine be grouped carefully in a section. You don't have to let them "in all directions".

Just left click on a shortcut and HOLD > then drag it to the desired location.

  • Wireless desktop 3000. Mouse is often rough and keyboard not typing letters. Do not respond.

    Hello.

A few months ago, I bought a 3000 Microsoft wireless desktop computer. I finally opened it and started using it and am wireless. So far it was not pleasant to use.

If it worked all the time, it would be great. I installed the drivers from the dvd, and it sucks to use.

Are there tips to make the experience more pleasant and as precise as possible wireless? The batteries are new. I'm usin what came in the box.

If I have to keep going back and adding letters that do not appear: I won't go back to the wired. This message takes more than two times longer to type. I can't stand it.

So far, it is the only wireless I use. I have not installed the dvd software.

Can I install extra on more than one machine (my computer desktop and laptop) or an other patition on the same desktop?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think that the antenna of keyboard is above the insert / home / page keys and probably to the front or the middle of the mouse.

If the table is made of a dense material, it can affect the signal.
To check if this is the case, try to put the mouse or the keyboard within line of sight of the dongle, or at least as close as possible and test whether or not it is more responsive.

Try to install the latest version of the driver and the IntelliPoint software from the download site: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx

Although they should be good and charged, try different / new batteries just to be safe.

In addition, you have other wireless devices?

  • Desktop computer connected via a cable to a wireless router - can't print on Photosmart Wireless B109n-z

    Hello

I have my desktop (Windows XP) connected via a cable to a LinkSys WRT54GC wireless router and wireless HP Photosmart B109n-z connected wireless. I can 'see' desktop printer if I write the IP address of the printer in the browser, but printing does not work.

I don't know how to set up the printer to print from this desktop computer. What I choose when installing printer drivers (printing via USB or wireless?). I tried manually installing printer but without success. Do I have to set up specific ports?

Printing from laptop (connected wireless to the router) works perfectly.

Thank you in advance for your answer, I'm really lost on this one.

Choose print wireless while installing the software.  Because the printer is connected to your router, you don't need to go through «setup USB wireless»

I'll try to manually add again in this way:

Verify that you can access the web page internal to the printer by its IP address.

    1. click on the 'Start' button--> printers and fax machines.
    2. under print jobs, click on "add a printer".
    3. click on 'Next' on the Add Printer Wizard window.
    4. Select "local printer attached to this computer. Deselect "automatically detect and install my Plug and play printer." Click "next".
5 under, select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and choose "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next".
    6. in the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port Wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to the same network that your computer is connected to. click on the button "next".
    7. under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the IP address of the printer. Click 'Next' and then click 'Finish '.
    8. now select HP in the manufacturers list, select your printer in the list of the models of printers and click the button "next".
    9. If you can't find your printer, you will need to find the installation CD and use the 'Disc' option to select one of the files hp*.ini. You can also select another model of the same type HP printer.
    10. Add the name of print spooler, and then click "next".
    11. click on "next".
    12. click on "Next" and "Finish."

  • Settings need to connect a second desktop computer using a NetGear wireless adapter.

    Original title: wireless settings

I need the settings to connect a second desktop computer using a NetGear wireless adapter.

The Belkin router work a lot using my Tablet and streaming movies but I can't understand

the settings on the second PC.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

"Settings", you need are the SSID (network name) and the encryption key (password).

Unless you have configured the router to 'hide' the SSID (generally a bad idea), you will see in the list of available wireless networks.  Then, the only thing you need is the encryption key.

If you do not write your encryption key, you can find it by logging into your router configuration utility.

If you have a computer running Windows can now connect to the router, open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK) and type "ipconfig" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.  Take note of the 'Default gateway' address.  It is the IP address of the router.

The default IP for Belkin routers is 192.168.2.1.

On a computer that is already connected to the router, open a browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox) and enter the IP address of the router (the gateway by default, you noted above or 192.168.2.1).  If you do not have a computer that is connected to the wireless router, you will need to temporarily connect a computer to the router by an Ethernet cable.

Connect to the router configuration utility.  If prompted for a password and you don't remember, you need to reset the router to its factory default.  Return ticket for additional instructions.

Once logged in, click on "Security" under "wireless" in the menu.  At this point, you should see a page that shows your password.  Write it down and exit the router configuration utility without making any changes.

For more help, post back with the model of your Belkin router and also mention if you have any Windows computer that can connect to the router (and if yes, what version of Windows they use).

  • Issues with Dell desktop computer wireless and D-Link wireless network card. Only able to get wireless access by checking "Use Windows to configure my wireless network". This kind of file sharing impossible.

original title: can't see the computer on wireless internet!

I hope that's not too much detail, but I would like that the sequence of events to be clear...

I have a Dell desktop computer that's probably six or seven years now.  It did not come with a wireless card, so I bought a DLink router and combo card wireless, install both with the DLink software.  It works beautifully.

Later, we through my rep AT & T DSL, I got a Motorola modem/router with wireless capabilities.  I had plugged directly on my computer Dell desktop and moved to a Dell laptop DLink wireless receiver.  No problems.

The Dell laptop is dead and the DLink receiver has not been used for a long time.  Family of my daughter moved to our place, and I have connected his desktop computers and laptop to wireless internet, using the Windows Connection Wizard.  Still no problem.

I got a new ASUS laptop, I also linked using the Windows Wizard.  STILL no problem.

Now, here's the problem comes.  I moved the Dell desktop computer, connected the DLink wireless receiver to it and I am able to get wireless access ONLY when I go into the properties of PC, click the wireless networks tab and check the "use Windows to configure my wireless network" box.  Then I can connect correctly, but I don't see this computer on my wireless network.  Bad luck... because I want to be able to access share files.  When I try to connect using different assistants of Windows, I get a message to the effect that, if I used another software to connect to the program, I can't use the Windows Wizard.

So, what can I do to remove the original configuration of DLink completely and to connect to my wireless network using the wizards in Windows?  I uninstalled the software of DLink, but it seems to have no effect at all.

BTW, Dell desktop computer is running XP, office computer of my daughter is running VISTA, and two laptops are equipped with Windows 7.  I can see all the computers on the network with the exception of the original Dell desktop computer wireless.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Joe and DonnaLoth,

  • I can't get the XP computer recognize the Windows 7 network file share more wireless

Problem file/network sharing wireless with a professional system XP and Windows 7

I have 2 computers - 1 with XP and Windows 7 pro upgrade and use a secure wireless network...  I have set up my network on the new computer and can see the files on my new XP computer, but I can't get the XP computer to recognize Windows 7 one.  What should I do?

    Hi Captive,

    Method 1:

I suggest you to check if temporarily uninstall the antivirus software on the computer Windows XP allows you to connect properly.

But don't forget to install the software after troubleshooting is done such that your computer will be at risk.

    Method 2:
You can also check the settings of firewall on the windows XP computer. You can check if the ports are opened correctly for the network to connect. See the help link - below
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/283673

    Method 3:
If the problem persists, you can even perform the clean boot on the Windows XP computer and check if you can identify the application that is causing problems in the clean boot state. To perform the clean boot follow step 1, mentioned in the article, below, and then try again checking in this state of boot -

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

If the issue is resolved check what non-Microsoft service or program is at the origin of the problem. referring to article and following the other steps.
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    b. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option and then click OK.

    c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps.

  • With the help of desktop computer as a wireless signal Repeater.

I recently moved and my for my PS3 wireless reception is terrible, so I was told I could use this other desktop computer, which receives the signal much better, as a relay instead of buy a wireless signal Repeater. How can I get this computer also spread the signal from the original router downstairs?

I'm sorry, but there is nothing built into Windows XP that can do what you want.

You might be able to do a search on the web and find a third party program to do this.

  • What's Dell Dimension 2400 desktop computer capable of capturing a wireless signal? Should this function be switched?

Dell dimension 2400 desktop computer was plugged into the wireless router we have. We got a new computer and moved the old desktop (Dell 2400) in another room. It is not picking up, or even searching for a wireless signal. She still has this ability? How can we it give this ability?

The Dimension 2400 is not normally a built-in wireless networking capability.  To view, go to the Control Panel > Classic view > System > hardware > Device Manager and double-click network adapters .

If that doesn't show wireless network card, you can add it by buying a USB wireless network adapter or a Wireless PCI adapter card .
