Desktop computer connected via a cable to a wireless router - can't print on Photosmart Wireless B109n-z

Hello

I have my desktop (Windows XP) connected via a cable to a LinkSys WRT54GC wireless router and wireless HP Photosmart B109n-z connected wireless. I can 'see' desktop printer if I write the IP address of the printer in the browser, but printing does not work.

I don't know how to set up the printer to print from this desktop computer. What I choose when installing printer drivers (printing via USB or wireless?). I tried manually installing printer but without success. Do I have to set up specific ports?

Printing from laptop (connected wireless to the router) works perfectly.

Thank you in advance for your answer, I'm really lost on this one.

Choose print wireless while installing the software.  Because the printer is connected to your router, you don't need to go through «setup USB wireless»

I'll try to manually add again in this way:

Verify that you can access the web page internal to the printer by its IP address.

1. click on the 'Start' button--> printers and fax machines.
2. under print jobs, click on "add a printer".
3. click on 'Next' on the Add Printer Wizard window.
4. Select "local printer attached to this computer. Deselect "automatically detect and install my Plug and play printer." Click "next".
5 under, select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and choose "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next".
6. in the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port Wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to the same network that your computer is connected to. click on the button "next".
7. under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the IP address of the printer. Click 'Next' and then click 'Finish '.
8. now select HP in the manufacturers list, select your printer in the list of the models of printers and click the button "next".
9. If you can't find your printer, you will need to find the installation CD and use the 'Disc' option to select one of the files hp*.ini. You can also select another model of the same type HP printer.
10. Add the name of print spooler, and then click "next".
11. click on "next".
12. click on "Next" and "Finish."

A router is a device that connects computers (or other type of computer
devices) to each other on a network and you can send files
from one computer to the other. It does not connect to the internet, and
you need a device called a modem vaguely to do this. The modem also
connects to the router and allows the computers on the network
(those connected to the router) to connect to the internet.

However, note that there are some available devices that are
router-modem combination. If your router is of this type, you do not have

  • New smartphone BlackBerry storm not no projection in 'My computer' as a disc as my old Storm was when connected via USB cable

I got a new storm that I see in BB Desktop Manager and see it of identification number and can see the contents of the 8 MB card, but I do not see the storm in my computer as a drive, as I have for my old storm when I connect it via USB cable.

I used to connect my old Storm and autoplay would jump to the top and I see map of the storm and the internal memory as two disks support.  Nothing shows here now...

I checked to make sure that autoplay is always set to "always ask" when my phone is connected.  I double checked to make sure that the new storm was set ON media, NULL encryption Support, ON Media transfer, Mass storage support, Auto enable Mass Storage when logged ON, etc.

The card is fine, I've recorded videos, photos and play music off it all the time and I can transfer items to using very slow BB Media Manager but I prefer to use the quick method when it is recognized as a drive.

Why it used to work on the old storm, but not on this new?

I read on some other fourms when you think you've found a new replacement Storm you get really a refurbished and for some reason that those who have a whole mass storage setting where the mode is disabled?

Before I had a chance to even try your recommendation, I found a link on these forums for this file that I mentioned.  I'll be darn it worked... now my BB appears in my computer under two drives, and Media Sync works!  Problem solved!

It won't let me put the hyperlink to the forum page but a search for ' Blackberry Media Sync could not connect to your BlackBerry smartphone.

So who has a link to the forums on pinstack.com and you have to register with them to get the file, and then extract the RAR with Winzip file and in this file, I ran the file BB"storage"Activation with the connected BB again, which opens a DOS command prompt, you hit then any key to continue, then unplug. , wait that the BB restart, then Viola... it works again!

  • Customer WRVS4400N wireless doesn't have internet access, unless first connected via a cable

    Hi all

I recently bought a security WRVS4400N router and have a strange problem with it. I have set up as my main router and two computers (a desktop and a server) by using DHCP. Both work very well, internet is as quick as it should be, no problem.

However, when I set up the Wifi SSID (some security options I use, even with open/wpa/wpa2) and connect to my laptop. It is assigned an IP address and windows said that there is an internet connection. As soon as I try to do something good, I fell. Try to ping an external server, failure and dropped. Open IE, failure and dropped. I can't access my local server connected by wire to the router.

If I connect to the laptop via a cable to the router everything works, and he continues to work when I unplug it. So that means that right now, I walk on to the router and connect my laptop for 3 seconds before you unplug the unit and then use the wifi for a couple of hours with no problems. But as soon as I try to turn on my wireless Logitech SqueezeBox or the wireless printer, they fail and take my cell phone with it...

    I have:

reset the router, used the two firmware 2.0.2.1 and 2.0.1.3 and did a factory reset.

Tried moving the router near the laptop, no difference.

Does anyone have an idea on what could be my problem?

    /Thomas

If you have received if from NewEgg as a refurbished.  Call Cisco Technical Support and open a ticket for her. Mine is returned to them for the same kinds of questions.

Expect to be without it for a while, they told me within 24 hours of receipt, my replacedment would be sent.  They had for 3 days and counting... learned to love the tracking information.

  • C6380 - computer laptop xp prints with connection by usb cable but not wireless

    Hello

I have a c6380, which is about two weeks old. Setup worked fine when I put it on the wireless network and everything is ok.

I installed the software on a vista pc which is connected by cable to my router from sky. This shows very well.

I installed the software on a computer vista laptop that is wireless and prints well.

I also have a computer laptop xp. It is also wireless. The software installed without problem. See the printer etc. However, when I try and print, the printer makes noise and pulls the paper, then the screen says it's printing and then nothing happens. The printer stays like that and eventually the laptop shows a failure to print the message. The document remains in the print queue before deletion, and I have to press Cancel on the printer. If I plug the printer with a usb cable for this laptopit prints without problem.

I ping the printer wireless froom the laptop xp and access the admin screen. It also shows as a network drive in my computer.

I uninstalled the software that came with the printer, downloaded the hp software to ensure that it is up-to-date and re installed.

I put the printer with a static ip address.

I restarted the router as well.

The router uses a channel 11 broadcast key, wpa - psk and is set to g & b modes.

Now, it's really really frustrating because the computer laptop xp my wife, is the main reason why we bought a wirelsss printer because she is a teacher and done loads of printing.

I'm pretty good with pc / networks etc but have now run out of ideas.

    Can someone help me please?

    Thanks in advance.

  • can I use my wireless printer if it is connected to the main computer with the USB cable?

My main computer runs XP Professional and is not wireless capable (that I know), my laptop running Windows 7 is wifi enabled, it can independently connect to the internet and printer (Photosmart 5510) is wifi capable but that is currently connected to the main computer with a USB cable.

My question: can I use the printer to the host computer by USB and computer laptop through wireless?  If yes how to configure connections? Thank you.

    Hello

A small wifi Wireless USB on the XP machine should work just fine. You can OpenOffice.org printer to two computers wireless. I don't think that a machine can access the printer if you plan to use the USB connection or wireless. I have not tried yet, maybe next weekend.

  • Printing on a wireless active 8500 Pro from a desktop computer.

So I'm wondering is, I can print to the printer pro 8500 wireless active even if the only wireless device is my router?  My office is connected to the router via ethernet cable.  The printing process of travel via the cable to the router and then to transmit wirelessly to the printer?   I hope that this issue has not been addressed; as I couldn't find the info at the end of 20 minutes, I decided to post.

For get all answered in a post here is my situation. I have a desktop computer connected to a router via an ethernet cable, I have desktop computer connected to the printer via the usb port. I just bought a laptop. I want to set up a way to use the printer (8500 pro wireless) with the desktop and laptop, hopefully without having to connect to the laptop via a cable.  I know I have to remove the USB to use either a wired or wireless configuration.

    Thanks in advance.

    I short - YES.

A router does not care how 'customers' are attached - wired or wireless - all devices can visit each other.

  • Issues with Dell desktop computer wireless and D-Link wireless network card. Only able to get wireless access by checking "Use Windows to configure my wireless network". This kind of file sharing impossible.

original title: can't see the computer on wireless internet!

I hope that's not too much detail, but I would like that the sequence of events to be clear...

I have a Dell desktop computer that's probably six or seven years now.  It did not come with a wireless card, so I bought a DLink router and combo card wireless, install both with the DLink software.  It works beautifully.

Later, we through my rep AT & T DSL, I got a Motorola modem/router with wireless capabilities.  I had plugged directly on my computer Dell desktop and moved to a Dell laptop DLink wireless receiver.  No problems.

The Dell laptop is dead and the DLink receiver has not been used for a long time.  Family of my daughter moved to our place, and I have connected his desktop computers and laptop to wireless internet, using the Windows Connection Wizard.  Still no problem.

I got a new ASUS laptop, I also linked using the Windows Wizard.  STILL no problem.

Now, here's the problem comes.  I moved the Dell desktop computer, connected the DLink wireless receiver to it and I am able to get wireless access ONLY when I go into the properties of PC, click the wireless networks tab and check the "use Windows to configure my wireless network" box.  Then I can connect correctly, but I don't see this computer on my wireless network.  Bad luck... because I want to be able to access share files.  When I try to connect using different assistants of Windows, I get a message to the effect that, if I used another software to connect to the program, I can't use the Windows Wizard.

So, what can I do to remove the original configuration of DLink completely and to connect to my wireless network using the wizards in Windows?  I uninstalled the software of DLink, but it seems to have no effect at all.

BTW, Dell desktop computer is running XP, office computer of my daughter is running VISTA, and two laptops are equipped with Windows 7.  I can see all the computers on the network with the exception of the original Dell desktop computer wireless.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    a. click Start , click devices and printers.

    b. right-click on the printer and select printer properties.

    c. click on the Ports tab, and then select Configure the Port.

    d. uncheck the box for SNMP status allow.
