Wireless streaming from PC to Smart TV

I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 (maybe there is a month now, so I'm always browsing through all its features) and I am listening to my PC to our smart TV (perhaps quite recent, LG 3DHD - it's 5 weeks).  We have Verizon FiOS, and we have their own router they gave us to use (I'm at work, so I do not have the exact specifications on a lot atm). We have our TV connected to the atm network and we are able to navigate on internet about this and that, but for the life of me, I can't get my computer to the TV, I can't find on network tv (even if it is connected) for me to listen to my desktop on my tv screen.

I am able to connect to all our devices to our tv (Android, iPhone, iPad and even my laptop (can not spread except cables in), but I am not able to play my office out of my TV screen.)

I want to hear my computer desk for 2 reasons. 1. I have a blu - ray on my computer drive and 2, I would use my TV 55 "to play video games here and there.

I heard that there are some features for Windows 8 to achieve, but as I said, I have no idea.

Thanks for all the answers in advance! I can provide more information than necessary, especially when I get home to get the exact if necessary specifications.

It's more trouble than it should be IMO. Win 8 cannot broadcast video dvd to the TV. It is even impossible to read video dvd on the computer without Media Center or other dvd player software. You will need a 3rd party program to read the blue ray on the computer. Media Center is unable to broadcast on tv at all. Only Media Player can stream TV and Media Player does not play video on win 8. This feature has been removed from win 8. See what I mean? Media Player Help information on streaming.

  • Apple TV (gen 3) freezes when Streaming from iTunes

    I have a third generation Apple TV (latest updates OS) on an airport extreme wireless network 802.11ac. When you try to stream from iTunes (latest) on Mavericks (all patches), many videos can take up to five minutes to start playing, and after playing for twenty or thirty minutes, they "freezing" for anywhere from one minute to five minutes before resuming playback. If I was streaming on the internet, I could understand the delay, but it doesn't have much sense when streaming from a local source.

    What I'm trying to listen to are movies and TV shows that have been downloaded on iTunes. On Apple TV, I select 'Machines' and then select 'Movies' or 'TV Shows' and select the movie or TV show to watch. According to the film or television show, they will be either start immediately or that there may be a delay until five minutes before starting to play.

    I restarted the Apple TV and I checked there is nothing cached on the device, so I don't see where any content downloaded on Apple TV, itself might be forced memory.

    I took my two my edge router and my WiFi network and I can verity that Apple TV is streaming on the computer and not from the internet. I also checked that there are no other consequence WiFi activity (NTP updates, updates to the ASP, etc., but without the use of actual data bandwidth) and I checked that iTunes is the only process that consumes any real network, CPU, or the disk on the computer resources is continuous from. I also checked the other devices on the network are also not any bandwidth real WiFi.

    So I'm puzzled. Any idea what's going on here? Why Apple TV freezes? It is really this poor management of its buffers work? (I find that hard to believe!)

    Any ideas on how to debug this yet? Even better, any ideas how solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

  • EA6300 is not the video stream from computer to Ipad on my local networt

    I was previously using Video Stream (from Connect3) for videos from my computer to my Ipad with no problems. I used a WRT400n and have now upgraded to the EA6300. Now my Ipad can't access the server on the computer. I tried port forwarding, but that did not work. I guess that some settings on the router blocks. The computer is connected to the usb wireless network. It was connected via a cable when using the 400n.

    IP 192.168.1.118, IP 192.168.1.40 ipad computer. Anyone has an idea why the Ipad and the computer can not connect?

    OK, I thought about it. I had to go to the control panel and the settings of firewall and say let the Videostream program through. The strange thing was he had 2 ad for Videostream, one has been verified, the other was not. Checked both and then it was fine. Thanks to all who responded.

    Hello

    It seems that this model is not compatible AirPrint, but you should be able to use the hp eprint app to print wireless from your ipad - download the application and make sure that your printer and your ipad are connected to the same wifi network. • After the update for tvOS 9.1, it cannot play Live Video Streams from the start, Breaking NHL Gamecenter Live

    Since tvOS 9.1, update when I try to play an ongoing game from the beginning, using the NHL Gamecenter Live application, it will start playing for a second and then jump to live.  Basically, it breaks the app for the way I use it.  You can save 10 seconds each time, and he will play where leave you, but if interrupt you or try to fast forward / rewind it leap backward to live again.

    Jumping to living like that can easily spoil a game showing you the advance score.  In addition, it allows me to watch a game that has already started overnight since I don't want to miss the beginning of the game and can not start from the beginning to the end of the stream.

    I contacted NHL Gamecenter Live about this and they made it the Apple TV update:

    "At this time, the new Apple TV update does not support advance fast/quick return characteristic of live broadcasts."

    Does anyone know of a way around this, or if this is a bug or design?  If it's normal then Apple has actually ruined my Apple TV after only a few weeks of use.  I really hope that's not the case.

    Has anyone else noticed this problem?  I can't find any discussion about this but it seems like a pretty major flaw for me.

    Thank you!

    Scott

    I accidentally tag this message with iOS 9.1, it had to be tvOS 9.1.  Sorry about that!

  • Create a data streaming from C++ stream and read it in LabView

    Hi all.

    I'm working on a project that is to connect to a tracker of movement and reading data of position and orientation of this in real time. The code to get the data is in c ++, so I decided that the best way to do it would be to create a c++ DLL that contains all the functions necessary to first connect to the device and it reads the data and use the node to call a library function to power the Labview data.

    I have a problem, because, ideally, I would like a continuous flow of data from the code c ++ in Labview, and I don't know how to do this. Put the node function of library call for a while loop seems like an obvious solution, but if I do it this way I'd have to reconnect to the device whenever I get the data, which is quite a bit too slow.

    So my question is, if I created c ++ function that creates a data stream, could I read that in Labview without continually having to call a function? I would rather have only to call a function once, and then read the data stream until a stop command is given.

    I'm using Labview 2010, version 10.0.

    Apologies if the question is badly worded, thank you very much for your help.

    dr8086 wrote:

    This method resembles an excellent suggestion, but I have a few questions where I don't think I understood fully.

    I understand the basic principle is to use a call library function node to access a DLL that creates an instance of the device object and passes a pointer too in labview. Then a separate call library function node would pass this pointer to another DLL that could access the device object, update and read the data. This part could be in a while loop, then continue on reading the data until a stop command is given.

    That's all. I'm including some skeleton for example code. I am also including the code because I don't know how you experience multi threading so I show how you can use critical sections to avoid interactions between threads so that they do not lead to questions.

    // exported function to access the devices

    {
        int r= ((CDevice*)ptr)->close();
        ((CDevice*)ptr)->get_data(last_vals, size);

    My main concern is that the object can get out of memory or be deallocated since it would not take place to any namespace or whatever it is.

    As you create the object with the new, the object expire not until the dll is unloaded or the process (LabVIEW) closes. If the object will remain valid between condition LabVIEW dll calls not a not unload the dll (who does if the screws are closed). When that happens, I don't know exactly what happens to the active objects (that is, if you forgot to call close), I guess the system recovers the memory, but the device could still be opened.

    What to do to make sure that everything is closed when the dll before I could call unloads close and remove the object is whenever I create a new object in the dll that I add to a list when the dll is unloaded, if the object is still on the list, that I'm deleting it.

    dr8086 wrote:

    I also have a more general question of programming on the purpose of the buffer. The buffer would essentially be a large table of position values, which are stored until they can be read in the rest of the VI?

    Yes, see the code example.

    However, according to the frequency with which you need to collect data from the device you have this buffer at all. That is, if take you a sample on every 100ms, then you can remove all threads and buffer related functions and instead to read data from the read feature itself like this:

    double CDevice::get_data()
    {
        tracker->update();
        return tracker->getRawData(0);
    }

    Because you need only a buffer and a separate if thread you collect data at a high frequency and you can not lose any data.

  • HP wireless keyboard from 2.4 GHz on the HP Pavilion Elite 083 Volume controls does not not in Windows 8

    I have a HP 2.4 GHz wireless keyboard on a desktop HP Pavilion Elite 083 UK:

    Model KG-08510 rev 1.1

    Product #ABU KZ256AA number

    Part number 505143-031

    .. Since the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro to Windows 7 Home Premium, I have problems with getting control of Volume +, - and disable keys on the keyboard to work reliably in Windows 8 Pro.

    In summary, the symptom is that when I start the PC from a start-up to cold which is a full power down of the State of the volume on the keyboard controls do not work.

    However, if I unplug and re - plug the USB wireless receiver that came the keyboard on the PC then on the keyboard volume controls begin to work again.

    I tried the following things to try to solve this problem:

    -Made a lot of new installation of Windows 8 i.e. reformatting the hard drive (no recovery) and fresh install Windows 8 on a blank hard drive.

    -Installation of Microsoft Windows all the updates available for the machine.

    -Manually install drivers wireless keyboard on the site of HP driver for my computer HP Pavilion Elite 083uk (this allows the screen display on to CapsLock and numlock which works reliably every time that I start).

    -Disable 'fast start up' in Windows 8 power settings

    -Using different USB ports on the back of the machine

    This question is re-producable each time and the keyboard volume buttons work fine even from boot cold when I was running Windows 7.

    I think that I have now found a solution / workaround to solve this case no matter who is interested.

    1. download and install the Microsoft "DevCon" tool that provides an interface to command line for Device Manager.

    Download and installation instructions are here:

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/182.how-to-obtain-the-current-version-of-device-console-utility-DevCon-exe.aspx

    2. create a Windows scheduled task with "highest privileges" that works on logon that issues the following command:

    DevCon restart 'HID\VID_03F0 & PID_0862 & REV_0105 & MI_01 & Col02'

    This restarts "HID-compliant consumer control device" that is listed in my device manager which is middle for the proper functioning of the volume control and mute buttons on the keyboard (keyboard functionality is via a separate driver which is not affected).

    NB. you need to replace ""HID\VID_03F0 & PID_0862 & REV_0105 & MI_01 & Col02"with whatever hardware ID is listed in the device for that Manager.»

    3. If the above does not work, then you must create a scheduled task to run a batch file with the following:

    DevCon disable 'HID\VID_03F0 & PID_0862 & REV_0105 & MI_01 & Col02'

    DevCon enable 'HID\VID_03F0 & PID_0862 & REV_0105 & MI_01 & Col02'

  • Windows XP SP3 with router Belkin 802.11n Play 600N HD: how to minimize the impact on performance wireless streaming?

    Among the other computers in my house, I have an old Pentium 4 2 GHz Dell under Windows XP SP3.  I want to take all my music and put it on a (Belkin streaming) attached to the router hard drive, so I only store - and keep - it in one place, but can access to any of my computers - including this old Dell.

    The Question Is: there will be any type of CPU and/or memory (although I'm more concerned by the CPU) overhead streaming music from my drive attached to the router to my Dell (and if so: is it possible to mitigate that)?

    Specifically, I mean compared to run music directly to internal hard drive of the Dell: if any CPU or memory 'cost' for it in streaming on the network beyond what it already takes to play music.

    If it makes a difference: I use Windows Media Player to play the music.

    Hi RDougShelton,

    There will certainly be performance lag if played that music will be broadcast online in and the router will be bandwidth. For example, an impact on the speed of surfing.

    When you play locally on the hard drive, the bandwidth will be unaffected, however, you can face sligh increase the CPU usage.

    Hope that info help.

  • Want 5530, wireless, printing from a laptop Mac and Windows 7

    Hello

    I've just set up my new Envy 5530 wireless printer on my iMac (running Mac OS 10.9), I can print comes it very well, even from my iPhone / iPad. I also posted an e-mail to her address and that works very well, too.

    However, I also have a laptop HP ProBook 6455 b and I'd like to be able to print wirelessly, of him also. But this does not work, I'm unable to install the printer using the "Devices and printers" Wizard on Windows 7.

    I went to:

    Control Panel > hardware and sound > devices and printers > add a printer > add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer. This printer is not found, even when it is on and the rest of my devices can see and print on it.

    Do I need to download and install the drivers for Windows 7 from hp.com? Or is there something that I am not making the invisible to my Windows 7 computer printer?

    Thanks in advance for your help,

    David G.

    Hi David G.,.

    I understand that you can not get the printer connected to your Windows laptop. You are on the right track, you need to download HP ENVY 5530 e-all-in-one of the printer drivers. Select your operating system, and then click the button "next". Scroll down and click on "Driver - Product Installation software. Click Printer series e-all-in-one HP Envy 5530 full feature software and driver. This should bring up the download page, click on the 'Download' button and I suggest saving it to your desktop and run the installation from there.

    I hope this helps, let me know.

    Thank you
