Hi Davo1957,

·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: You can try to connect the device to a different USB port and check if the problem persists.

Method 2: There are chances that the USB cable may be defective. You can check the device connection through different threads.

Method 3: You can run the Microsoft Fixit from the following link and check if the problem persists.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows

http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

Method 4: You can follow the steps in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article and check.

Peripheral USB is not recognized when you attach it immediately after that your Windows XP computer comes out of standby or hibernation

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/871233

Method 5: Install the drivers updated and chipset for the device and check the results. You can see the article mentioned for more information below:

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

Perhaps.  If you configure your client to use a virtual Intel e1000 NETWORK card, then you could install the Intel NIC drivers within your comments... I think that the drivers Intel supports VLANS.  But I have not tested it myself.

  • I have a Logitech USB 350 and Windows 7 headphones not not even seen in any USB port

Recently, I built my new system and installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  I was using my Logitech USB Headset on my previous bench which was under Vista without any problems.

After all the installations and updates, it was time to see what games and Movies looked and sounded like.  I plugged my faithful helmet in a USB slot... and nothing happened.  And I hear nothing.  My system is not same recgonize that nothing is plugged into the USB port.  I tried other 8 available USB slots and got the same results - absolutely nothing.  And Yes, all the slots work. Connect any other device (external hard drive, Memory stick, etc.) each any every site works very well.

Plug the headphones on another computer running XP. It is recognized and works perfectly.

Back to my new PC, open the control panel with the connected headset and go to the appropriate screen - I see my speakers and Realtech Audio, but no helmet, no unidentified device, nothing.

The compatibility section of this web site confirms that this helmet is AOK with Wndows 7.

So, anyone have any ideas?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I hope someone can help with a problem I have with my Aspire Z5600 all in one computer. I can't restart the machine because it is blocked on the page re-loader of Windows when I try to reboot.

The screen is grey anthracite dark with white writing and gives me two options, to select one of the options that I would need to use the arrow keys on the keyboard and press ENTER to the action of the selection. The problem is fashion seems to be invalid the USB ports and the touch screen, so I can't select and option of each key board or screen and it will not pass, is just stuck on the screen, making the computer unusable.

Can someone give me a solution to remedy to this problem please?

Assuming that your keyboard works during boot (and it should; trying to tap F8 to access Advanced Boot Options Menu), probably the simplest method would be to make a Hiren Boot CD, boot from it and use one of the many included tools.  I have not experienced with your particular situation, so I can not tell you what tools will be or will work for you, but my guess is that USBDeView might work.

Thanks for all the help. Seems that there is no easy 'reset' for bad hardware configurations.

However, I dug to the bottom of my Lac 'tech' and found a USB-to-PS/2 adapter, which allowed me to use the USB mouse into the PS/2 port and reactivate my USB ports.

    All is well now.

    Hello clarksdad,

It seems that you have not installed all the drivers after your new installation.

Try to install the drivers for chipsets motherboard from the CD driver provided by the manufacturer/supplier of your PC.

And then you continue with the installation of drivers VGA and Audio.

For the most part, all these drivers come packaged with the CD provided by the manufacturer/supplier of your PC.

    Thank you and best regards.

  • When I attach my USB to one of my USB ports, I get a message that says "unknown device". However if I plug my mouse and my keyboard in the same USB port it works fine... What do I do? Need HELP I have the info out of my flash drive...

I need to download a driver?

It would be difficult to say that you haven't told us the manufacturer and model of the flash player.
Neither you told us what version, edition and level of service pack of Windows® you are running.
All of the above information is important to answer your question!

Please note, however, that in Windows® XP Service Pack 3 , drivers are not necessary for newer flash players.  If you have not upgraded to the SP2 minimum, you can have trouble reading flash drives.  Download and installation of the SP3 may solve your problem.

In addition, your hardware supports USB 2.0?  If this isn't the case, you may need to install a separate USB controller to use flash drives.  See the documentation for your system.

If you have SP3 and your hardware supports USB 2.0, answer these questions and we will take it from there...

No member of this forum is omniscient.  You just have to tell us about your hardware.
