Wireless switch on satellite M50 159 lance 8 MS Works Calendar

When I go to the WiFi enabled or disabled using the hardware switch on the front of the laptop, Microsoft Works 8 schedule is launched. What is a known feature? How can I disable the launch?

Hi Neil

I've never heard of this, but everything is possible. If you want you can try to remove these applications, restart the device and install again. Please watch carefully what happens after that.

AFAIK all software is tested before the recovery media is created and things like this aren't theoretically possible. If you check this forum I think your case is first and there is no similar problems.

Please inform us of what will happen if you try to remove and reinstall MS Works.

Good luck!

    Hello

I just found out that on my computer (M50-159) chassis is cracked, the left side is also a bit loose so that when I press on the inside there is movement and a squeaky sound. Is there a place where I can buy or get this replaced for the new chassis?

Yes, all devices, parts, etc. you can order from the service guy in your country.
I bought a player that is compatible for my satellite of the authorized service provider.
He told me that they have to order it from the Toshiba.

So I think you can also order a chassis and a few blankets for your laptop,

    Hi dear friend,

you got the wrong partnumber. What you need is PA3283U2ACA (K000028790), which is the right one. Here´s a link where you can check the connector of the AC adapter:

I have a problem with my M50-228. When I type very fast, the keyboard stops working for 20-30 seconds. If I type slowly, there is no problem. I can reproduce this, hitting several very quick keys... then it stops to work for this time.

Did someone knows if it is a hardware problem? The laptop is very recent.

Your old Toshiba Satellite M50 probably cannot be upgraded to Windows 7, but go here: http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows7/upgrade_cae.htm

What is Windows XP "ATM"?  Right-click on desktop and select Properties.  What version of WIndows XP, including the service pack is shown here?

What do you mean by 'symbol wireless "?

Either the light near the wireless switch on the front of the laptop on or off? It will power on and off when you change the switch setting?

Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK) and list all the icons that you see there.

    Hello

Have you noticed this disconnection using the laptop battery power or also during its connected to the power adapter mode?

In case this happens only in battery power mode, it would be possible as the system powers OFF the WLan to save power.
In this case, I recommend two verification options:

    1) go to Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> tab power management
Check here if the option to shut down unit is not checked.

    (2) Variant 2 should be checked in the Windows power management. Here, you can set the WLan card option to the performance.

By the way: according to the specifications of the laptop the laptop is equipped with Intel card Wireless - N 7260 WLan that supports the 802.11 b/g/n standard.

Here is a page of the driver Intel where you can download the latest driver Intel Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260
    [Drivers Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 | https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Wireless+ Networking & ProductLine = Intel % C2% AE + Wi - Fi + products & ProductProduct = Intel % C2% AE + double + band + Wireless - N + 7260 & ProdId = 3716 W & LineId = 1784 & FamilyId = 1783]
I recommend you test the 16.6.0 driver version

If you have time, try an experiment: you can see the different WLAN channels: you must pass in the router settings as well as in properties (Advanced tab) Wlan card

  • Satellite M50 - wireless card disappeared

    Hey.

Prolly newb question, but I just can't understand this. I can't find my WIRELESS card, my XP does not recognize it. I think I need some kind of driver for it, but I already tried to install several, including the one on this page. Problem is probably, I don't know what model of wireless card has my satellite.

I tried google, but the jungle brought me here :)
    Thank you.

    Hello!

What Satellite M50 laptop are you excactly?
From Toshiba Web site shows only an Intel driver for Satellite M50 (PSM50E and PSM51E) and to Satellite M50 (PSM53E) a driver Atheros.
Then choose your model and download the driver.

An update of the BIOS might also solve the problem, but in your case I would try first upgrading the driver.

As far as I know, you can use a PCMCIA wireless card. This kind of wireless card has a built-in antenna. You can google a bit for the right card.

  • Satellite L40-18 X - wireless switch does not work

    Hello

I installed Windows 7 on Satellite L40 - 18 x, PSL48E, the installation seems correct. After installation I noticed that the wireless switch on/off (power) switch does not. The wireless network is working except the functionality of switch.

It worked on Windows Vista. I installed all the up-to-date drivers for the network card wireless, including atheros, configfree, chipset drivers, but no effect.

Please can someone tell me the possibole solution?

    Hello

    I agree with resident.
The Wlan switch on the side of the laptop has all the drivers and it works independently of the installed software!

The FN + F8 key combination that allows the WLan should work on if install you value added package.

You should also check if the WLan card is set on IT in Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab WLan card.

    See you soon

  • Re: Satellite Pro U400 PSU41E - com wireless switch does not work after Win7

    Hello

I did an upgrade from 32-bit Windows 7 Professional (clean install) to my SatPro this week, and almost everything is fine. I reinstalled Win7 readers listed on this site and my software with no obvious problems. I say almost because the switch for wireless on the front of the unit has stopped working.

Previously with the switch pushed to the left of that internal map could be put off, it remains now on. The light goes out! The wireless card works OK and connect to home and office wifi networks, but I can not turn off when connected using a connection cable.

Any thoughts on how to restore the switch function? I have looked for the readers, but cannot identify all.

    Thank you
    Spencer

    Hello

Once, I had this problem on my A500. I pressed Fn + F8 to disable wifi and switch pushed to the left, in any case just to play with it. In my case, it helped me.

  • ConfigFree on Satellite A80: wireless switch is OFF, when its actually

I've seen several comments on this problem, none of them is resolved.
I'm running an A80. Until I updated the driver wireless and Configfree, Configfree has worked well.
Now, however, no matter what I do, any driver, I installed, or what version of Configfree, now they all insist that the wireless to cut when it is indeed running.
Everything except the Radar works very well. Even now, I am connected to the wireless network.
However - by selecting the Configfree Radar showed the error message
"Wireless is disabled. Please activate the wireless communication switch.

It drives me crazy. I spent three days on this problem. I guess that's not really necessary, because it is only a display - but I want it to work! :-)
I am a very experienced user, but this one is difficult. because I suspect its software based really.
I can't believe that in the world, with many people to see this problem, that Toshiba does not found the difinitive this problem cause and posted a fix.

    In summary.
With original features such as pronounced - it worked and displayed near the wireless stations.

After the upgrade to the latest drivers wireless and Configfree - Configfree actually works but WILL NOT operate the Radar, because he insists on the fact that the wireless switch is DISABLED, when in fact it is powered.

I tried everything, including the FN + F8 - which also seems to be unresponsive. But it could be another problem, I hope. Not interested in this, because the wireless is still on.

If anyone has a solution that works, I'd love to hear about it.
    Thank you
    Robert

    Hello, Robert

In my opinion ConfigFree is one of the best utilities offered by Toshiba. This utility is pre-installed, I think, on all models of laptops Windows XP Home edition, and I can't imagine that there is a bug.

All of the tools and utilities that you can find in recovery image is suitable for each model of laptop, tested and I really can't imagine that such bug may be there. It is very interesting that you wrote on update. Sorry but I checked the original version and the version offered on the Toshiba download page, and they are absolutely identical (ConfigFree V5.00.45).

I use two Toshiba laptops, both with WXP and I use the CofigFree version that is included in the recovery image. It works perfectly and I see no reason for update (if this update exists, but I don't believe that).

So it will be interesting to know what version of ConfigFree you use and where you have founded an update. Please be so kind and give us more information about this update.

Maybe a few links to other multiple posts may also be useful.

  • Satellite L300 - wireless switch power switch does not work

I installed XP on my L300 - 110 (PSLB0E), cause I don't like Vista. I installed all the drivers, and everything is quiet OK. But one thing little annoying me - wireless, switch, it does not work. So I can turn on Wi - Fi only by pressing Start-> connections and so on.

I need help! Who can tell me, what driver or software do I need to install? Thnx a lot!

    Hello

Do you mean the hardware switch on the side of the fron of the laptop?
Normally this switch still works because he founded material s and must always be defined on IT if you want to use the WLAN and OFF to disable WLAN.

Have you tested the switch on OS preinstalled Toshiba? Maybe it's a hardware problem

Make sure that the latest drivers are installed!

  • Satellite M50: Fn + F5 not switch views

    Hi all
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite M50. Recently, I connected a projector to my laptop to do a presentation. After connecting the cable, when I pressed Fn + F5, I see 3 options: laptop, laptop/external, external computer. I tried to select portable/external or external computer but the screen revealed nothing. Nevertheless, I rebooted my laptop with everything always connected. During the restart, as shown by the windows loading and Toshiba screens, projector shows exactly what on the screen! However, when Windows has finished loading, the spotlight returned to No Signal.

I dug through the forums and it seems that my laptop can detect the external connection, but cannot display on the projector. Could someone help me with this? I'd appreciate some advice. Thank you!

    Garet

    Hello

Go into the display properties and go to the advanced settings.
Check tab displays the external device (beamer) is enabled.

Also, I read that if you want to see the videos on two display devices, you need to disable hardware overlay (there must be a controller).

  • Equium M50-164 - cannot find a wireless switch

Im having trouble setting up my wireless network - I get a constant message telling me wireless is not lit - for the life of me I can't find out how to do this.

I am looking for a switch to a button or something - ive tried searching through my XP operating system, look for a switch option but have had no luck.

Have you looked in the user manual? You'll find where is the wireless switch.

The wireless switch is on the front of your laptop on the left side. The rule must switch on it otherwise the WLAN functionality is disabled.
