wiring NI CompactDAQ at DC source of vehicle

Hello, I was wondering how go wiring in the CompactDAQ chassis to CC of the vehicle system.  the vehicle has a rear 72 volt battery and a 12 volt battery, which could be used.  At the moment, we simply use the power adapter supplied with the unit.

Thanks in advance,

John

John,

I believe that your best option is to get a power converter that will have the power to DC and change it to AC.  From there, you could plug in the frame as usual.  Many of them are commercially available, and as long as get you a good voltage, current and power, you should be fine.

  • Bug reference IMAQ turn?

    Version 8.5 of vision in LabVIEW 8.2

    When calling most of the functions of the vision, the function returns the image, even if an error has occurred previously, but IMAQ rotation function does when there is an error.  It of an oversight or is it designed in?  It is difficult to close the image reference, when it goes bad in this way, without interruption of data flow.

    Solution: wire image both img src and dst, which seems to solve when there is an error.

    Edit: fix version number.

    Edit 2: changed the topic to really say something useful

    Edit 3: added workaround

    Hello Britoa,

    It is the expected behavior. The output image is actually the destination «»
    image ". If a destination image is not wired, it will use the
    source image. But if there is an error, so it does not use any image
    and therefore no image is sent as output. You can see more clearly if you connect a
    different picture to the dest image input. If there is an error, then
    the destination image gets out but if there is no error, then
    He treats the source output image.

    I hope this helps.

  • Advice on current carrier online please!

    Hi all

    Please forgive a newbie question.

    I have a PC in my home office ethernet cable is connected to a Cisco EPC3925 wireless router.

    Son and daughter have a PC in their room upstairs, with a very poor wireless service.

    (1) is the kit PLSK my best solution?

    (2) a unit is mounted on the router. Access to one of the computers on the floor.

    Buy a second "slave" for the second computer or how to solve this one?

    Thank you very much

    Jim

    Typical of 802.11 g Wireless a theoretical maximum of 54 Mbit / s. standard wired 10/100 Ethernet has a theoretical maximum of 100 Mbps. So in theory Wired is faster.

    Source: http://superuser.com/questions/136012/wireless-vs-wired-which-is-faster

    PLSK400 is also a good option. Alternatively, you can refer to this article http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=24974.

  • How to access the file data of QML

    Hi all

    I save my data foler xml file after I have download from Server compnay.

    So I hope that I can access data foler to load the XML to display the list.

    Does anyone know how to set up the data source of the qml?

    {To ListView

    objectName: "objVehicleListView."

    dataModel: {XmlDataModel}

    Source: "file://data/vehicles.xml".<--  how="" to="" point="" to="" data="">

    }

    listItemComponents:]

    {ListItemComponent}

    type: "vehicle".

    {StandardListItem}

    Title:ListItemData.unitName

    Description: ListItemData.licencePlate

    status: ListItemData.vehicleOwnerName

    }

    }

    ]

    }

    I think that it is not possible to get the path using QML pure code. By using the code BBSJdev, you can get the path in C++ and export it to QML.

    Add the following code after the qml loading, but before creating rootObject:

    QDeclarativePropertyMap *filenames = new QDeclarativePropertyMap;
    filenames->insert("vehicles", QVariant(QString(
            QDir::homePath() + "/vehicles.xml")));
    qml->setContextProperty("filenames", filenames);

    Then you can use QML:

    ListView {
      dataModel: XmlDataModel {
        source: filenames.vehicles

  • SX80 causing meter bounce

    We have several SX80s connected to Soundstructure DSP and there is a constant, rhythmic bounce on the meter of the PSD codec.

    We have grounded all, filtered power, check and rechecked the wiring and insulated from the source to the SX80.

    If levels are set to high in the DSP then there is a clicking extensible which corresponds to the movement of the indicator.

    Any thoughts?

    You and one other user might have a similar problem, sx80-high-talker-noise, something two reports from the speakers.  I know that the IX5000 had a similar question recently, CSCva98522, maybe the SX80's too.

    Proximity enabled, if so, try to turn it off and check?  In the contrary case, probably the best contact TAC if it's something of a problem when the system standby or in use.

  • same source/sink wiring problem

    Hello

    There is a wiring error entering my polar plot.  I'm conversion Re / Im fleece pieces and then grouping together.  I then create a table to form a table 1 d of 2 elements, however, it is still a mistake, even if the sink requires an of2 table 1 d elements.  It of quite confusing, can anyone help please?

    See you soon

    This isn't the same type of data entry as the op and because you can convert almost anything to anything else, I don't know what's the point. You can convert a string to the correct entry, but this does not mean that the data will be correct.

    Hi @HVE,

    Thanks for the update and I'm happy that you have the wireless works again. As you did a recovery to Windows 7 and I suggest that in one of my posts, would you consider marking this post as "acceptable Solution" to help other members and visitors to what has worked for you and what could help them. I will conclude the matter resolved as you suggested.

    Thanks again to become a member of the forum and hope that you find it informative and interesting.

  • What source address should the NI9862 module CAN be used to send messages j1939?

    I am developing an application that will write and read on vehicle ECU road. I CAN NI9862 module and drivers XNET. I can read an ECU data. I can write a CAN bus frames but the ECU under test does not appear to read the message. I don't get any acknowledgement of bit type and the SHIELD in question (a dashboard) does not change its messages in anyway, nor change the gauges or witnesses.

    Complicating this is the fact that the ecu is 'Brand X' and it is PGNs belong to someone. I tried to send the message of inquiry PGN (PGN59904) but get no response from the ECU. I use the 255 (global) as my source address.

    Is there a source given for the NI9862 in J1939 address?

    Thank you

    There is no specific source for the NI9862 address. It can be used to simulate one of the 256 available addresses. If you try to simulate a test off-board tool, usually has an address of 0xFA.

    I'm afraid that if you do not know the PGNs he expects or addresses that it expects to see, you will have great difficulty to operate.

    Good luck

    Bob Young

  • Source of 2 X 9 containers for 2630

    Does anyone know a source of power blocks 2 X 9 IDC to mate with the NOR-2630 to wiring connection block? The specification identifies a Samtec component which doesn't seem to be available now. Most of the containers double row IDC I see on the market are 0.6 "height. I measured the inside of the terminal box (roughly, with a ruler) and found that there is about a half inch from the base of the pins to where I eyeball the cover to sit when it is attached. The small package of parts supplied with the Terminal Board speak high quarter of an inch. Does anyone know a part of Samtec which replaced the DLI series identified in the literature NOR, nor an alternative?

    I know that there are a series of Molex which can work. TE and CFI of the parts that I reviewed are too large. I'm looking to identify alternatives for assemblers of cable I asked to quote for me.

    Features: containers 18 pin double row to the field of 0.1 ". Max height, including cabling (and probably son of up to THREE other connectors!) talking about half an inch. Should probably be IDC for these clearances, but welding connections would work. I suspect that assemblers will use armored discreet wire or twisted pair wiring and no Ribbon wiring of these assemblies.

    Thank you!!

    Jeff

    Jeff,

    Looking for the complete cable, or for cable connectors [coming in the bag]?

    Cable

    The complete cable is listed in the Assembly instructions [IDSD-09 series ' "] and ends up on a lot of 3rd party websites as well as site Web of Samtec.

    Cable connectors

    Given that the NOR-2530 and NOR-2530 b should have been directly replaceable, part number 778962-01 NI listed in 2630 B installation instructions must be identical. NI 778962-01 can be purchased on the website or here.

    Each task works fine on its own (i.e. without the other). The problem is that if I start the task of the encoder first and then the task PWM, the latter causes an error:

    Error-89137 occurred to the DAQ Assistant
    Possible reasons:
    Specified route can not be satisfied, because it requires resources that are currently in use by another route.

    The task name: _unnamedTask<61>

    I don't know why this is, but if I start the PWM task first, and then the task of the encoder, it also works. I should also mention that initially I was using counter 0 encoder, which caused a shift in the 100kHzTimebase to Ctr0SampleClock, which, according to the ways of device 9411, is not supported. Yet it worked (in itself). I wonder if this is happening under the hood isn't quite what is shown.

    What is exactly the conflict and what can do to avoid it? The reasons for having to use specific modes and the settings (for example, the 'continuous samples' with 100kHzTimebase clock) are rooted in various performance and requirements of optimization that were created in a previous version of our software, so I prefer not to take a completely different path, if some small changes would lead us to correct the problem.

    I appreciate your help.

    Kamen

    Hi Kamen,

    The time base of 100 kHz is not a direct route to the counter sample clocks, the device actually uses one of the other counters to complete the road (the routing table is a little misleading here because it shows 2 meter that one always doing road - in fact it will be any available counter):

    So in your case, when you start the task of the encoder, it uses one of the other available counters to complete the configured road (100 kHz to ctr2 sample clock timebase).  Of course, she chose meter 3.

    Possible workarounds (looks like you have already found one yourself):

    1 start the PWM before the task of the encoder task - if the task PWM starts first the counter is already booked and the task of the encoder would choose another available counter to complete its road.

    2. explicitly reserve the PWM task before you begin the task of the encoder (if you need to start the task of the encoder first).

    3. use cDAQ1/_freqout to generate the clock sample 100 kHz signal and use this instead of routing to the time base of 100 kHz to the counter sample clock.

    Change autour counters should also work, but I'm not 100% sure how the unit selects which counter to use for routing (I don't expect change in the future, but if it's not explicitly spec'ed somewhere so I wouldn't take my chances)-if it were me, I would choose one of the other options above.

    Best regards

  • Good wiring when using Bode Analyzer with myDAQ

    Hello

    I'm trying to measure the frequency response of a lowpass butterworth filter 4 pole.

    I use the myDAQ and Bode Analyzer software.

    How to wire AO 0 and AI 0 to measure properly?

    My simple understanding tells me to connect AO 0 at the entrance of the filter and GOT 0 + to the output of the filter and HAVE 0 - to the mass.

    This produces strange results, and I think that something is wrong with the wiring.

    Am I supposed to use AI 1 +/-in a sense?

    Thank you.

    You will need to wire them HAVE 0 and AI 1. The Bode Analyzer resembles the input and output of the filter and the caclulates response of 2 analog inputs. Since the entry to the filter can come from any source, the myDAQ, the parser must read the value at the entrance as well. That's why DO 2 channels is necessary.

    AO 0 and AI 0 + will be connected to the input of the filter. HAVE 1 + will be connected to the output of the filter. 0 - AND AI 1 - will be wired to ground.

  • Digitization and adaptation of impedance of the signal source entries

    I'm trying to measure the voltage difference and the time between the two entrances of a USB-5132 digitizer. The switching interval that I try to capture is ~ 150uS and I intend to acquire ~ 25K samples (50MS/s for 500, although it is an overdose of sampling frequency). The digitizer is 1 M ohms entered and I wanted to use the 100 SMA 50 ohm cables to connect to the source of the signals which in addition to several kohm impedance. My knowledge of RF is low and I am concerned about the impedance matching between the digitizer inputs, impedance source and wiring. What kind of considerations to I need to avoid degrading the signal? The switching signal is pulse-like and is rich in harmonics and on a sample of 500K samples/s scope is represented accurately. Should what kind of considerations I do about the impedance?

    Hi William,.

    There will be some problems if you try to use a source that has an impedance of several kohms. You will probably get the reflections of signals. What is the source of your signal has several kohm impedance?  I'd take a peek through the following article Developer area that describes some of the considerations when it comes from impedance matching. Specifically, I would check the last section corresponding resistive. This should give you a better idea of what to worry about your application.

  • Measurment LVDT DC with CompactDAQ

    Hello

    I am currently working with reading as a result of an LVDT for a project that the present model is the DC LVDT Omega LD620-25

    According to the data sheet's model requires a voltage of 10-30 v and a maximum current of 25ma

    http://www.Omega.com/pptst/LD620.html

    with regard to the available data acquisition modules: the NI 9237 and the 9220 OR by using a module compactDAQ

    as the NI9237 has an internal output of 150mW obtained maximum current is 15ma, simply use?

    the 9220 OR will be used for the acquisition of data but provides no port of excitement!

    as for the solution another I thought using an AC adapter / CC of normal 12Vdc 100ma with a variable pot or a circuit voltage divider to provide the necessary tension

    but I have several concerns with respect to the Earth circuit. in this system, I will have two independent reasons!

    What will be the best solution to connect the LVDT module to the 9220 OR and provide a source of external excitation?

    Thank you

    Hello ghattas.ak

    Consider the NI 9218. It can provide 12V exictation to ~ 50 mA per channel and read 5 or output 10V DC LVDT. To use this excitement 12V, 9 - 30V power supply must be connected at the Vsup pins. As you said, you can also use the 9220 OR with external excitation. The NI 9237 measuring range of +/-25 mV/V does not cover the 5 or 10 v output sensor you.

    See you soon,.

  • 9401 buffered output digital clock sample source

    Hi, I would like to generate a pulse train with a defined number of pulses, according to a defined periodicity. I use a NI9401 module in the Groove 3 CompactDAQ chassis so that I can write the required buffer sample 2047 pulse train. The problem I have is I am unable to choose any clock source slower than the time base of 100 kHz, which means that the buffer can underflow very easily. I would use a 4 kHz clock source, but cannot find how do. If I want to generate a source of the clock of one of the counters, I must have the 9401 in slots 6 or 7 which then do not allow for generation of digital signals in the buffer...

    Hi, JPP,.

    Access to internal counters, even if modules are connected in the Groove 1-4 of the cDAQ chassis. Note this site 6 & 7 are necessary only if you need external access to counters as task of counter in the buffer, the measures of frequency/period, etc... Since in your application, all you need is to generate a continuous pulse train and access its output internally to clock output your digital correlated, this shouldn't be a problem with your DIO module into the Groove 4. Please take a look at the following link for more information.
