  This is probably a very basic question...

  I have a new Cisco ASA5505 and I'm seeing newspapers at the level of the console. Currently when I make a record sh I just get the below. I expect, or I saw on messages system other PIX / ASA.

  Any ideas on what command I need to run in order to allow these messages?

  The "journal to see the" displays what is called the journal of the buffer. The registration of your buffer is disabled. Use cmd "logging buffered stored" config to activate it. You can adjust the size of the buffer with "logging buffer-size '. I think that buffer memory space is allocated in memory, so don't go overboard.

• ASA5505 - connection reset when you try to SSH IPSEC tunnel

  Hello

  VPN IPSEC just bought myself an ASA5505 to replace a PIX 501 and having been transferred to the bulk of the previous configuration, I managed to get the two tunnels to work as before.

  Unfortunately when I try and SSH for the SAA the right connection restores instantly even when the tunnel is up. It seems as if the ASA actively refuses the connection, if the journal does not specify this. I had always assumed that the traffic on an established IPSEC tunnel has been implicitly trust and not subject to the usual rules of access list.

  I can't SSH to the ASA in the 10.0.0.x range, but I can't SSH to a machine on 10.27.0.4 (I know the tunnel is up and working)

  Reference attached config (less sensitive information not relevant).

  Also - although I'm not sure of the relevance is given the tunnels seem to work - when I get the line "meepnet-map outside crypto map interface" in the reports of the ASA configuration mode "warning: the crypto map entry is incomplete!" even though I provided the access list, peers, and transform-set variables.

• Outdoor access for users of PPTP on PIX

  Hello everyone I have a PIX 506 6.3 (5) software running and configured to accept PPTP VPN from outside connections.  It works very well, the PPTP users get a local IP address of the configured pool and can access inside the hosts as expected.  What I want now, is that PPTP users can access the internet from here like inside hosts using dynamic NAT to the external interface. On ASA5505 this is achieved by the same-security-traffic permit intra-interface and corresponding nat (outside) configuration (with IPsec-VPN-Clients, not PPTP). On the PIX with the PPTP clients, I can not get this result.  Is it possible somehow?  Thanks a lot for any suggestion, Grischa

  Unfortunately no, it is not possible on the pix 506 v6.x running. The reason is that the feature you need is called "bundling", which is activated by using the command "permit same-security-traffic intra-interface". But it is not available on code v.6.x pix.

  It is available on pix v7.x code and leave, but unfortunately the pix 506 cannot be upgraded to code v7.x. The minimum pix model that can run code v7.x is a pix 515E.

• VPN client behind ok asa pix but no asa

  Hi all

  I was faced with a newly installed asa5505 couple. We can use the vpnclient in devices, but not behind another asa. Behind the asa same we can vpn for previous installations of pix. But when we go to other asa installs, we get the regular creation of translation failed for protocol 50.

  We have activated, isakmp, nat-traversal, udp 4500 and udp 10000. If the fault is at the other end, even if the error shows in this end?

  Anyone who is willing to help me with this?

  You do not allow protocol 50 - ESP through the firewall. The remote end VPN are trying to create a VPN in mode 'Hand' is not "Aggressive" mode as VPN clients.

  Add the below and test again: -.

  permit for outside_access_in to access extensive list of 6 esp a whole line

• QoS is supported on the Cisco PIX 501 or 506th?

  There is no mention of QoS in technical for the PIX 501 and 506 records but nothing for the 515. PIX OS 7.x configuration guides do not mention specific material support.

  Does anyone know if QoS is taken care of in the 501 or 506th - I need support lines expectations for VoIP over IPSec.

  QoS is supported in 7.x code, you would have to level 501/506 to 7.x code, but this is not supported on these two models, the next logical solution would be to upgrade your PIX 501/506 to asa5505s.

  I have to choose between a pix501 or an asa5505-k9 for a firewall on a small office.

  Which one is recommended.

  Is the ASA the future replacemente for the PIX?

  The ASA will replace the PIX. I would say the ASA5505 because a PIX 501 only supports code 6.x and the ASA will support the new code and provide a longer life expectancy.

• Dynamic dns using for IPSec on PIX tunnel

  We have a pair of PIX running 6.3 (5), and a separate company must be connected to us. Remote society has a dynamic IP address on the firewall, but it is registered with dyndns.com. As far as I know, the PIX does not have a DNS server, so this configuration will not work unless manually change us the entry of 'name' on our firewall. Is this correct? Thank you

  Sorry for the delay.

  The idea is that your dynamic peers land on dynamic crypto map (not you can always match within the dynamic crypto map)

  bsns-asa5505-19(config)# crypto dynamic-map DYNMAP 10 match address ?

  Here's how you can make them land on different map entries.

  With regard to the game by the peers. I did check the behavir in the laboratory and what you say is true, you can for example use DNS.

  IOS is the keyword 'dynamic' for the router to do name resolution when initiaitng tunnel.

  Any laptop would work fine, but a better option may be to look with Dropbox or similar storage service online. Perhaps if you could provide more information on your plans and your needs we can offer other suggestions. How much space you have on your phone? How long will you be away from your computer at home? Any estimate on how many pictures will you take?

  I am using Thunderbird 38.2.0 Win 7, computer runs well.
  

  Over the last six months, my Thunderbird had a very unusual problem, I spent hours looking for a solution here and have seen anything similar.

  There are 5 email accounts associated with this installation. It worked perfectly for years.
  A day without known reason the main Inbox appears more messages.
  All records on this account work very well, as do all other folders on all other accounts.
  Emails are there... If I click on the (Now) empty message box, all messages will be displayed in the message display box, but the content of the actual file is empty.
  I hope that I myself have explained clearly.
  All suggestions welcome.
  I have created new profiles, reinstalled tbird... at my wits end, any help gratefully accepted.
  Attached is a screenshot of my main Inbox folder, as you can see display messages, but the record does not show messages.

  Have you tried right click, select properties and then repair?

• FF 27 - my fonts are pixely and I can't understand why.

  About 4 weeks ago, fonts on all the pages I visit using Firefox became pixely (some letters appear in bold, the lines seem to be low resolution, etc.). I tried the following steps to fix without success:

  -Update of FF 27
  -Reset by default
  -Turn off hardware acceleration

  The only thing I can think of that may be the culprit, it is at the same time, I got a new monitor that requires a display installed on my laptop driver.

  What other troubleshooting measures can I take to help address the display of police while I use my beloved Firefox?

  Try to play with this:

  And make sure that firefox has the updated driver, you can check in "subject: support.

  and try turning off hardware acceleration: try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

  You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

  Then perform the following steps:

  • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
  • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
  • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

  In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

  Can someone direct me to articles or the spirit to give me a quick post re: a great way to manage my pix that I take on my iPhone 6 then organize into folders easily and have the synchronization of files to my other mobile devices and Apple computers? My iPad and iPhone are both on the same iOS but my computers are a little different: I always use Lion (10.7.5) on my Mac Pro and Yosemite (10.10.5) on my Macbook Pro. My equipment is:

  1. iPhone 6 (iOS 9.3.2)
  2. Air iPad (iOS 9.3.2)
  3. MacBook Pro (OSX Yosemite 10.10.5)
  4. Mac Pro (OSX Lion 10.7.5)

  Basically, I want to be able to create a folder of say on my iPhone and put relevant pix in it and have the folder synchronization and pix of my devices above. And if I were to edit or delete a photo on another device synchronization of changes to the other 3 devices. Key word is easily. The best analogy I just with that is IMAP for email, and whose changes are instantaneous and fluid to all other connected devices assuming that you use the same AppleID devices of course.

  Maybe it's me, but I find a bit intuitive Photo Apple application so thinking maybe someone has created a more robust application and intuitive that works on all the other computers and mobile devices Apple.

  I read reviews on App Store and Googling but thought maybe I'd get a stronger recommendation here among the Digerati Apple

• Cannot find the backup store in DOCS n Toshiba drive external HARD to PIX

  Hi guys,.

  a few days back I have backup my loads of PIX and Documents TOSHIBA external HARD drive (3.5-inch USB 2.0 Black + Silver HARD drive, 2.5-inch USB 2.0 HDD Black + Silver) in-store "My PIX" and "My Documents" backup of your laptop. Now I'm trying to restore it on another laptop but I can't find them through TOSHIBA REGEN backup software. But first I couldn't find my music store of movies but the itch to get through 'repair catalogue' in the software... Has anyone asked similar problem as I do? Any help of suggestion will be highly appreciated.

• (Pixie palm) Try to update webOS 1.3.5.1 (unpacking...)

  Miss me the CLOCK of my new Pixie of Palm app. Reading that I need to move to the 1.3.5.1 webOS.  I clicked on the 'Upgrade' and says it is downloading... sitting there forever.  I finally gave up and turned the phone off and on again.  Now when I go to 'Upgrade' it says "Unpacking" and never does anything more than that.

  I'm doing something wrong?  I am in desperate need of the CLOCK (wake up) app.  Thought it was a mistake on this phone because I had it on my razor phone stupid before changing for this one.

  OK, exceeded the update problem (guess you must have a full battery to get download and install it.)

  But still no CLOCK app he shows in my list of applications software, but not as an icon on my Launcher.

  Cmd key doesn't work is not for the nonadjacent selection of pix. Worked in iPhoto, but not since the 1.0.1 Photos.

  It works in other ways as being one by design or just a default keyboard?
