Get and install the correct RPM OCFS2 that match your kernel (or boot system using the correct kernel).

On the LSN (Unbreakable Linux Network) this can be done by using this command:

# up2date ocfs2-'uname - r '.

For Red Hat download http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs2/ RPM systems
It is unlikely to occur on a SuSE distribution since the OCFS2 modules are packed inside the rotation speed of the core.

  • Oracle 10g Rac (TAF)

    Hello
    I'm known for RAC env.
How to implement TAF in oracle 10g RAC approx.
and how do you know... and how conf (base & preconnect) services for which use them.
    Thank you

Before you configure TAF, you should know about TAF

If the instance fails, TAF allows applications to automatically reconnect to a different instance. The new connection will be identical to the original, but uncommitted, existing at the time of breaking transactions will be cancelled.

TAF can be configured to perform two types of failover: session and selectwith the resumption of the session, any uncommitted transaction will be cancelled, and the session will be linked to another instance, with the resumption of the selection, uncommitted transactions will be cancelled, the second will be connected to another instance and any select statement that was running at the time of the breakup will be rerun by the sesion again using the same RCS and recoveries lines will be rejected upward until the original request has failed. The Select statement will continue return the remaining rows to the client.

a TAF connection must be configured in the configuration file net tnsnames.oraOracle. In oracle 10.1 and higher, the DBCA services management page can generate appropriate TNS for the TAF entries.

To configure the TAF, the TNS entry should include a FAILOVER mode clause that defines the properties of the recovery as follows,

TYPE attribute defines the behavior as a result of a failure. Value: Session, select or none

Attributes of the METHOD--> when connections are made to the failover. Value: base or preconnect

ATTEMPTS--> number of times where a connection should be attempted before displaying an error.

DELAY--> the time in seconds between each connection attempt.

  • Oracle 10g RAC - private interconnection on VLAN not routable private

There is in our data center existing Oracle 10g RAC configured with VLAN private interconnection managed by a different group of DBA.

We create a new, separate Oracle 10 g RAC environment to support our request.

When we discussed with our data center people to set up a local VIRTUAL private network for our CARS of interconnection, they suggest to use the same VLAN used by the other Oracle RAC configurations existing private. In this case the IPs of interconnection will be on the same subnet as the other Oracle RAC configurations.

    For example, if
RAC1 with 2 nodes use 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 in the VLAN_1 for the Interconect, they want us to use the same VLAN_1 with interconnecting IP 192.168.1.3 and 192.168.1.4 to our 2 node RAC.

Share the same subnet on the same private VLAN for the interconnection of different configurations of RAC, supported?
Which will cause a drop in performance? This means the IPs of a RAC interconnect configuration is to pings from other RAC configuration.

    Someone met with such purpose?

Could not find any info on it on Metalink.

    Thank you

    Yes
It is practically very doable... as you would have only 4 m/c in subnet ip... and it is much less than the public subnet that we should abstain from interconnection.

It is a problem in 10g. You must manually call the VIPCA utility and have the address set by you.

It is very common that people just click OK without going through the operating system and run the VIPCA config. Deputy, so at the point where the YES program ends VIP addresses still aren't reported, causing this problem appears.

  • Oracle 9i RAC DBCA problem

Oracle 9i Rac (9.2.0.6) on Windows Server 2003 Ent. SP2 (with latest Windows patches).

(The reason why I'm installing 9i RAC: we have an old 9i RAC database, and I want to change the very old hardware (servers and storage too).) My plan is to install RAC, create a blank database and import the data from the old to the new.)

The problem is, when I start DBCA (dbca - datafileDestination O:\oradata > c:\dbca_result.txt) and set up a rac database, the process of creating crashes to 2%...

I know that this kind of situation, important people will say that, upgrade - impossible! I can understand - depending on the application - it can be a major problem for upgrade to a higher version. But what is the difference between 9.2.0.6, 9.2.0.7? Bug fixes, but no change in characteristics. Why should the application stop working? To be honest I don't know if 9.2.0.7 (or even better 9.2.0.8) will solve your problems, but at least you would have an environment, which has BEEN supported in the past.
I think that the community here can give you some other answers, support Oracle would have done the same thing.

  • Oracle 10g RAC on CF7

    Hello

If someone has been able to get this config? I have 2 servers CF7 in a cluser, each are currently pointing to 2 different Oracle RAC servers, it's OK for the pseudo load balancing is not for failover.

I noticed the new 3.5 DataDirect JDBC drivers
( http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=42dcb10a) seem to work with 10g RAC, but are not supported, but I'm not sure how to set up the drivers 'Other' as stated in the link, the instructions do not provide enough information.

Has anyone got the job and could let me know what I need to enter in the config of pilots 'Other' to make it work?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kieron

    Excellent, does work.

    Many thanks qtpattuti.

  • 10g tools installation problem

Have an interesting question w / the programme YES for all products before 11g. I work in a Government environment and they have implemented strategies group at a crazy level. The last initiative was to disable the Compatbililty Mode on Windows 7. Thus the YES program simply disappears. I tried to change the settings to include the check for a version 6.1 operating system, tried different switches like - ignoresysprereqs and nothing works.

Until someone mentioned "these products are not certified... blah blah blah..." Yes, I know that. But the products DON'T work. We have installed Oracle 9, 10g, Designer 6, Designer 10 g, Developer 10 g. Ore g. Discoverer 10 on Windows 7. They work. What has stopped working is the YES program. If I can't install this last point is moot.

Is it possible to use the YES program that comes w / products 11g to install the older?

    Thank you!

    CJ

In general, you must be a member without restriction of the Administrators group in Windows in order to install Oracle most (and almost any professional) products. As you said, the older products can be implemented on Win7 (32 bit), but with a few unknown problems known and probable. They may also work on 64 bit Win7, but with additional questions. I wouldn't recommend this for a professional/production work, because it can be risky and him more often is not supported by Oracle if you contact support.

One of the questions YES has been addressed in the Setup program included with 10.1.2.3 and newer. A work around for installing 10.1.2.0 (Developer Suite) with Patch 3 (10.1.2.3) is discussed in the Note 1292919.1 . This note presents a patched version of the installer that allows installation on Win7. However, as you will not be able to get this to work without being a member of the administrator group. To clarify... it may appear to install, but you probably will not be able to use all executables except if you are a member of the Trib.

  • Oracle 10g RAC and Unix * question rlogin *.

I supports several bases RAC 10 g running on servers pSeries IBM using AIX 5.3. Our data base and the clusterware indicated 10.2.0.3 10.2.0.4.

I understand that user equivalence and rsh/ssh must be enabled so that the environment RAC and clusterware to connect across all the cluster nodes.

My problem is an issue raised by our internal system Auditors. Are asking that the commands rlogin and exec for AIX is disabled, because they feel that it is a security risk. Two orders prompt for a valid user name and password when they are used for the remote connection or execute a command.

I looked at the RAC documentation search online and Metalink (I'm not an expert on Metalink, though!) as well as Google and could not find anything indicating that rlogin and exec are specifically required for CARS work properly.

Can anyone offer advice or their point of view on whether or not these two commands should be enabled for RAC in order to function?

I thank you in advance for any help, you can give it to me.

    Kind regards
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

as far as my knowledge goes CARS use neither commands rlogin or exec.
After the installation of the cluster Oracle simply communicates via. (Clusterware) TCP and UDP (RAC) and is only sending and receiving messages. It is not necessary at run time for a remote access connection.

ALS if ssh and rsh are solemnly used for installation and connection (not for communication).
Oracle recommends always to leave active because it makes life easier to activate ssh every time that a patch is necessary.

  • Oracle 10g RAC + ASM + Data Guard: Question on the new disk group.

    Hello

One of our clients is to have Oracle 10 g RAC + ASM + Data Guard. Database is the disk DATA_DG1 group and FRA is on FLASH_DG1. Data Guard is a single instance on ASM.

To add more space, we can create another disc of the Group DATA_DG2 on Prod ASM and Data Guard ASM env, replication continues without any problem. Will be archiving logs shipped to the second disk DATA_DG2 group and applied without any configuration changes?

    Rgds,

    Yes, it sounds great.

You should be fine with the implementation of these measures and the dataguard should continue on as usual.

Just make sure that you are dealing with a physical standby that has not the conerts file name defined.

  • Oracle 10g Rac node eviction

    Hi all
I have Oracle 10 g R2 RAC prod db env's (Linux) on the on-board poower dell computers.
I have node eviction (within 10 days) issue.in my traffic N/W env is huge.
It is cause of N/W or everything?

Also note that the interconnection must be a dedicated and private network. Crossover ethernet connection is also not supported.

So, in this respect, how can you have any traffic on your interconnection, except CRS (and possibly storage as OCFS2 or RPS) traffic? Whence the huge amount of traffic that you are talking about comes from?

If it's on the network audience and interfaces - No. It's extremely likely expulsion of node. Unlike interconnection where a failure or a problem can easily cause expulsion from node.

What architecture do you use for your interconnection? (GigE, IPoIB, collage, etc.?)

  • Post in Oracle 11 g installation problems

    Hello
I installed oracle 11g on my windows vista ultimate OS. has been installed successfully without error, but after completion of the installation I found the that this sqlplus.exe file icon was not appropriate. It's like a default vista .exe icon. also, when I run it, I get a window of command prompt instead of the regular SQL window we get in all previous versions of oracle. If everything works well.

So, could be it someone please tell me what is the problem? Why I get such an interface?

With 11g, the SLQPlusW is no longer available. SQLPlus in command prompt, this is what we have. However, you are now automatically included SQLDeveloper.

  • With hp LaserJet MFP M125nw Pro installation problem

I have a problem with you reinstall the drivers from the printer in the address for Windows 7, in fact, when I start the installation disk all goes well until the collection of data on the site of the installation, when it comes to 99% seem to me a serious error without explanation (PC recognizes the printer when it is connected). I tried several times to install, but in vain. I even disabled the antivirus but still nothing?
    Help, please

Thanks for providing the screen shot @Pisinoto.

If you disconnect the USB cable, two entries 'HP Printer' disappear?

If they do then the printer is partially recognized.

Reconnect the USB cable and remove the two entries.

Then disconnect the cable once again, please.

Try another USB cable if you have an extra one lying around, just to rule out it. Make sure you are connecting directly to the computer.

I have provided with steps to unlock the hidden administrator account and the installation of the printer on this account to see if this will help this situation.

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted during the installation.

    • Go to your Start menu and in the box "search programs and files", type CMD.
    • CMD will fill as an option to search above, just right-click on it and "run as Administrator".
    • Once opens in CMD (command prompt), type net user administrator / Active: Yes and press ENTER.
    • Then, close CMD and then restart your computer.
    • When your computer is on the newspaper in the new account which should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
    • If your computer automatically connects to your account after the restart then go to your Start menu and click on the arrow next to 'shutdown' and choose 'change user '. Now log on to the administrator account, that we have just released.
    • Under the administrator account, install the printer software.
    • Test the printer.
    • To disable the Admin account start at step 1 and type net user administrator / active: No..

If you still experience this issue, it may be the user's profile. Create a new user and try to install the printer on this account.

    • Open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    • Click on manage another account.
    • Click on create a new account.

    Keep me posted. Thank you!

I seem to be difficulties with the installation of the updates and Microsoft software, and I don't know why. I bought Visio 2007 and when I downloaded and tried to install the product it failed due to an unknown error.

In addition, I have for the updates fail when the installation is attempted. The installation of two upates are: the update of Silverlight KB982926 with error code 64 c and PowerPoint 2007 KB982158 update with 800766F error code. When I tried following the information in Help and support, the messages are: the network that this information is on can not be found(which is funny, because I'm not on a network), impossible to find the source and the unknown error.
