? With RoboHelp 8 security risk?

Message received from our House, IT supports the Department about a security risk associated with RoboHelp 8 this morning. Their caveat said: "there is a critical vulnerability inin the current version of RoboHelp.  This vulnerability could lead to an unauthenticated user download and execution of arbitrary code. " I contacted Adobe Support, and they were unable to provide details. Then I am connected to a bug report on the technical support page. My company request now that I uninstall Robohelp.

Does anyone know about this security risk? Any ideas on how to fix?

Thank you for the information you can provide.

There is now an update of safety for the 8 HR server. Click here for more details.

    Hello

I used a template/theme of Muse - themes.com get started on a website for a client and, yesterday, my free host email web client telling him that "in an analysis systematic server, we found the files that present a possible security risk, and these files must be removed immediately or this could result in a suspension of web service to complete elimination. We have placed the list of files in "blah blah blah" directory on your server. "Then, it almost seems like they threw a sales pitch for a piece of security software should I use to delete (with supplement of course). I found the file they were placed with a list of the compromise/malicious files and looked through them and I was wondering why these files were malicious and also what they would mean if I removed them, or how I could solve this problem in general. I copied and pasted from the list below... Thanks for your help in advance! EDIT: Looking at the files, it almost seems like these files are former designers wordpress web. Am I way off? Will it affect anything if I remove them?

FWIW, none of these files are either produced or uploaded by Muse. They resemble files that would be part of a WordPress installation. Note the prefix "wp" on the issues concerned.

Most likely the two files were already there when you bought your accommodation, they have been downloaded by you or someone using your account outside the Muse (using an FTP program), who was trying to install WordPress, or someone else has your username and password and using your account without your knowledge server.

Uniblue is valid?  I tried to download the express chip set and I got a notice that it is a security risk because the digital signature could not be read or was not one at all, I contacted the company two times and did not get a response. They claim to be a microsoft partner. Can someone give me more information.

Uninstall the software Uniblue programs & features list.

That's all you need to do, apart from ensuring that your Windows updates options are correct (the default is automatically download and update the important updates only)

  • Shockwave flash 16.0.0.235 installed, there is a security risk, cannot update

There is an obsolete page on the Adobe Flash website blocked by Firefox 35.0.1 under Windows 7. Version 16.0.0.235 of Flash is labeled a security risk, "Always enable" is grayed out. I was on the Plugins page, and there I clicked on the update now linktext. I have been informed that all the old versions of Flash in the range of version 11 are blocked. Anywhere where go to from there. (My screenshot has a piece off the coast the Plugins page over top of the resulting page when I clicked the links provided).

Obsolete page being blocked has been received and I was able to run through the download process, but in the end, I got an error.
I tried several times to download install_flashplayer16x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe, that downloads OK, and when I run it it downloads and installs Adobe Flash, then said: finishing and "There was a mistake."

Flash software Glary Utilities Update update Internet Explorer, says nothing about Firefox, now I know why. It is a mess.

I opened firefox Pei and went into the new profile Virgin I had created sometimes back. He was happily running a fully compatible version of Flash 11 (I bet that wouldn't last long because my browser's biting me in the end and disables it).

Firefox Pei and I created a new profile today. It has this crippled version 16.0.0.235 Flash.

It seems that Mozilla has an obsolete page telling me that all the old versions in the range of version 11 are blocked. No word on the newer versions.

From what I've read, others are in what concerns other browsers and come with a bad Flash, too. I don't have Firefox (well, Internet Exploder, which I cut like a piece of trash since they came out with IE 7).

    Any advice? Thank you.

  • This page has a potential unspecified security risk.

    Hello

I watched this program on several sites and I saw the same solutions related, but none have worked for me, so I thought I'd go to the source.

Here's the question: I have a link in my taskbar in my My Documents folder, that, when I try to open it, I'm presented with this message:

This page has a potential unspecified security risk.  Do you want to continue?

If I select Yes, there is no problem, and my My Documents folder opens.  However, it's a nuisance, and I would like to stop this message from popping up every time.

    Regarding my setup:

I am running XP SP2 (w / no intention to install SP3) on my desktop system I try to access my My Documents folder.  I also have a file server, that I call the USC, under Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS and sheltering a RAID 5 array and using Samba.  I have this table mapped to my desktop as Y: System.  The path to my My Documents folder is Y:\backups\my_docs.  Before a few days ago, I never had no problem with this.

I am trying to add another array of RAID 5 to this file server, and I had some problems w / Samba.  At one point, I removed this mapping, while I was testing various configurations.  When I tried to re - map, I had connection problems.  Apparently, some of the changes I made now forced me to connect to that share without providing credentials.  So, just to be clear, before that, I got this mapped drive, then set it to reconnect to the opening, and there is no problem.  If, for some reason, I never had to re - map, all I had to do was provide my credentials and it matched with or without a problem.  Now, when I map, it requires no credentials, and it is simply the share.

However, after everything that's happened, when I now, select the shortcut to my My Documents folder link, I get this notification.  I tried to delete and recreate the shortened link, but that did not help.  As I already mentioned, I had read several other sites, and I tried a few solutions, most of them of adding this share to the list of sites in my Local Intranet options w / in IE8.  I even tried under Trusted Sites.  Nothing has solved the problem.  It was also recommended that I have untick automatically detect it Intranet network, which I did, but to no avail.

Currently, my installation of IE8 is as follows:

Local intranet is set to medium-low security (I tried low, but it does not, either).  Is checked automatically detect Intranet network, and file://usc is added to the zone.

Trusted sites is set to medium security, and I have no entries in its area.

W this question, any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much.

  • There is a security risk to plug the internet router management on the LAN port?

I have to install an ASR1001 on the internet for my business.  I noticed that the ASR1001 has a dedicated management port and I was wondering if it's a security risk to have this mangment port directly connected to my local network, so that I can mange it from my office.

I want to only run the ASR of this port and I will no management through its public IP address.  Is it possible for a malicious user to compromise the router then have access to the network but this management port?

I'd say it's a reasonable risk.  If you intend not to allow future management of the public side sessions you are a good start, implementation of protection against attacks.  Combine that with a few basic hardening, for example to disable source routing, directed broadcast, ip proxy arp, finger, as well as an ACL on the management interface so that all traffic from an untrusted interface on the router would be unable to receive return traffic.  In addition, the management vlan must be a dedicated vlan.  I would not fall in the same vlan in that your office is located.  Better design would be to fall into a dmz (acl on the router's management interface would be redundant in this case) and to apply the rules of the firewall.  However, if this is not possible, order access to routing on the ASR as well by including only a 32 road to your management station via the management VLAN interface.  Also, remove any redisribution or advertising of this management interface in your routing protocol.

Original title: security risks by allowing a program to change the registry keys in Windows 7, without knowing what are the changes?

What are the security risks by allowing a program to change the registry keys in Windows 7, without knowing what are the changes?

    Hello

If you had made any changes in the registry without taking the backup copy of the registry, then there could be chances that your computer can find themselves in no situation to start and finally end up in the reinstallation of the operating system; This is why it is recommended to take a backup changed in the register of representation.

Before editing a registry key or subkey, we recommend that you export, or make a backup copy of the key or the subkey. You can save the backup copy to a location that you specify, for example, a folder on your hard drive or a removable storage device. If you make changes that you want to cancel, you can import the backup copy.

. Are what program you referring?

  • What is the potential security risk to give 'any analysis' to a role or a user of 11.2.0.3 base data?

What is the potential security risk to give 'any analysis' to a role or a user of 11.2.0.3 base data?

    Thank you

    Larry

What is the potential security risk to give 'any analysis' to a role or a user of 11.2.0.3 base data?

This is a HUGE security risk.

Any person who uses the ANALYZE statement may accidentally or INTENTIONALLY, destroy the overall system performance.

Just look at what the ANALYZE statement can do:

    https://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e41084/statements_4005.htm

    Goal

Use the ANALYZE instruction to collect statistics, for example, to:

    • Collect or delete statistics on an index or index partition, table or table partition, table held in index, cluster, or scalar object attribute.

The ANALYZE statement has been deprecated for statistics for the DBMS_STATS package.

But what happens if the real and accurate data use by your important questions have been removed or replaced with nonsense, invalid statistical totall?

You could bring your system to its knees INSTANTLY. The system could start making full of HUGE tables table scans instead of using an appropriate index.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE thing to do to grant this privilege unless absolutely necessary.

  • "Windows services Centre" call by saying that I have a problem with my internal security system

    Hello

I received a phone call from 'Windows Service Centre', James Henderson, employee of 406-235-1159, phone number #7098 (Yes, that's an indication 406 and 416 - which is one of the reasons why I'm suspicious), but gave a speech in Mississauga (Ontario), saying that I have a problem with my internal security system and even if www.ammyy.com I need to talk to the technician to solve this problem. I do not trust him and hang up, but called the number, responded to the same person (as he had an Indian accent with a lisp in addition to this) and he said that Joseph and not James!
    Scam or what? Thank you

It is a scam! Who is becoming extremely common and was even on the news in some places. As long as you don't give them any personal information, you should be fine. Should they call once again, simply hang up.

See the recent thread below for more information; Shenan Stanley and the spirit of the messages contain very useful information:

Make sure that you install the .NET Framework 4.5 for Windows 7, not 4.0.

Also try to stay connected to the Internet during installation:

You can also do a clean boot.
