With the support of IKEv2 VPN server configuration

I'm putting my pc W7 as a VPN server with the support of IKEv2, but it escapes me, although I am not a novice.

I read a lot of forums "directions for use", but no address really details.

(1) for IKEv2, I need to install a certificate... I could not find a step by step guide.

Everyone for help...?

(2) how to set up the VPN server on my local LAN for testing to exclude router firewall etc... and connect my 920 lumia.

    I can't understand why the named instance is not working but the other is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Have you checked with the ODBC test utility isql (it is installed by default when you install the unixODBC Driver Manager) If your ODBC driver can connect at all to this named instance? I doubt it will work either as there was that a blog has commented by MS engineer:

    which States that the instance named connections are not supported using this driver.

  • SystemUpdate updates incompatible with the Support Site

    ThinkVantage SystemUpdate (and also companion of Lenovo) don't show updates that are listed on the Lenovo support site for my model (X1Yoga).  I can already see the inconsistancies between companion and SystemUpdate (BIOS/Intel drivers only on SU for example).  I'm not sure one to use.  Now I see things on the support site that are not available in a tools lenovo.  for example:

    Intel PRO/100 LAN Adapter (added on 17/04/2016)

    Lenovo battery indicator (added on 24/03/2016)

    I have older versions of these installed, but they do not appear in the tools.  I can't to go line by line on the support site now.  Is this a problem with this machine somehow or it's just the way things work?

    Lenovo publishes drivers/updates on the support page.

    These items are distributed to trials by the people of update of the quality system.  Su people must build SU .xml package "wrappers" to take care of these updates.  It takes 30 days.

    Companion seems to offer only the CRITICAL updates.

    For some drivers, the seller has the most recent updates, that is, Intel, Nvidia, Realtek or even windows update.

    It is up to you to decide if you want to be more up-to-date using the support page.  Normally, if it is not broken, do not fix.   If you encounter a problem with the software, read the release notes and decide if you want to use drivers support page.

    If your Yoga is a new purchase, and that you have done the installation of the plant, you would be more behind in updates, as the installation of the factory was built months ago.

    You must ensure that you have configured following

    • permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

      • This will allow VPN Client traffic to enter the ASA and leave the same interface
    • If you use Split Tunnel ACL with the VPN Client, make sure that the ACL has included Remote Site network
      • If you use complete Tunnel this wont be a problem
    • Make sure that the ACL of VPN L2L that defines "interesting traffic" includes the pool of Client VPN on both sides of the VPN L2L
    • Configure a NAT0 on the ASA of Client VPN 'outside' interface that makes NAT0 for pool of Client VPN Remote Site network

    If you have a real-world setting to share I can try to help with those. Otherwise I can only give general things like the above to check.

    If memory serves me right, from 12 Workstation, VMware Tools for modified Linux related with the way it handles stocks HGFS.

    Installation of VMware tools on many Linux guests, I always see the same behavior.

    In some installations it build hgfs module, in others it seems fair to connect on vmhgfs-fuse executable. No module hgfs not charged in this case of the kernel then HGFS works as expected.

    Exactly how it works under the hood, how to install VMware Tools/config, can determine whether it is necessary to build the module or just run vmhgfs-fuse?

    Well, strange person, not even VMware guys come on this subject. IMHO is a really interesting thing, I almost always use shared folders between guests and hosts, it's so easy and simple WHEN IT WORKS.

    The fact that no-one comes on this thread, show what I think always: products like workstation are profoundly less used, average people IMHO use 30/40 per cent of the potential software.

    Then, with a few hours and a few Linux guests many kind in hand machines (work with tools in both modes, hgfs.ko or fuse), investigated and found how it works by myself.

    This is what I found.

    Recent versions of VMware Tools for Linux now seems to check the fuse package installed on guest system installed and when they found him, they try to use vmhgfs-fuse (formerly an Open-vm-tools executable) to mount hgfs actions without the need of the hgfs.ko module and so without needing to compile the module often broken kernel. For example, hgfs.ko thin build up to kernel branch 4.4 and it is broken again on 4.5.

    The script vmware-config - tools.pl also seems power - also when it detects the fuse package - properly configure autostart for hgfs share.

    That's all, and it's very useful for me. Hope it will be for others.

    I have an Enterprise acceleration kit (6CPU), which is controlled by a vcenter server.

    I recently bought a vsphere essentials kit to host our "replica/backup server.

    I installed a secondary appliance of vsphere server on this kit essentials to host these servers.

    My question is can I use the server a vsphere, add these two licenses and all manage from the single interface?

    I guess adding a new cluster or datacenter would be the way to go, but not too sure if this is the best way to approach it.

    Unless I am mistaken, it is even technically applied, i.e. you cannot add "Essentials" authorized hosts (with the exception of the retail and executive offices Kits) of a vCenter Server Standard edition.

  • Need help with the Support Assistant for TouchSmart 310

    I tried to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant manually by searching on the HP customer service and it removed the previous version first. Nothing happened thereafter. I thought it would open HP Support Assistant after agreeing to terms and policies, but he did nothing. When I click on the HP Support Assistant icon, I get "year error occurred" on the very top of the page.  I am not in a position to make changes within the program - everything is gray.

    I tried unistalling tune but I get a message stating: Error 1316 - a network error has occurred trying to read from the file c:\windows\installer\hp support assistant.msi. I tried to look for this file and have not found. I even typed in the search and was not able to find it so I am not able to uninstall it.

    I've had this computer for a year now and have never been able to upgrade to the latest version of HP Support Assistant within the program. I'd get what your computer does not meet the minimum requirements and so I left it alone. The reason why I decided to manually update was because I have problems with the E: drive. And from what I read on HP, to see if I have a hard drive failed, I would need to run tests using HP Support Assistant, but unfortunately, I am not able to do this since I can't access HP Support Assistant.

    I have HP TouchSmart 310-1125f. Windows 7 64-bit.

    It is good to hear than the detected "Fixit" and was able to remove the existing installation of HPSA such as what can many fixed some of the problems that can prevent a new version installation correctly.

    First, even if you always have the latest installer HPSA, download it again from the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    HP Support Assistant.

    One when you're done, open your download folder, click with the right button on the Setup, select Extract 7 - zip, select the files and then click Ok.  Open the new folder sp58919 snippet and see you another installer called Setup - this right click and select new, 7-zip, select extract files and then click Ok.  Open the new installation folder, the installation application ( 4th down with a size of 249KO ) right-click and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.

    Did the full install now and if so, HPSA does work properly?

    I had a Palm T3 and send it for repair to Palm support, they charge me $ 230 can$ for repair or Exchange with a Palm T3 renovated! It takes a month before receiving a palm Tungsten E2 (incompatible with the T3 cradle). The E2 is half the quality of my old ((E2: 32 mb, 200 mhz, écran plus petit etc.) T3 and T3 64 MB, 400 mhz, bigger screen, voice memo etc.)) I want to just send the E2 return and refund but Palm support will give me no refund!  So I have an palm E2 I want and also I can't use it because I do not have the cables of synchronization and load, anyway I won't son because I don't pay for a Palm E2 and I don't want the Palm E2!

    Also the new E2 Palm he sold $ 229 on the Palm Canada store! The same price of my repair order...

    Palm stupid me with that and I'm really disappointed!

    Corporate customer relationship of palm understand that needs of their clients and they treat me with respect. We finnally came to an agreement and I am very satisfied.

  • Problem with the Linksys WPSM54G wireless print server

    Hello.  I'm wireless network printer Canon Pixma ip1500 my home wireless network.  I can't install the appropriate software on one of my computers, a Dell Inspiron 2200 running Windows XP Home Edition.  The installation software for the computers installed on other computers I use.

    Linksys support and assistance is neither friendly nor helpful.  I have two questions, and I'm grateful (really thankful!) for any help:

    1. the installer crashes when the software is copy the files to install on my computer to 96% complete.  If anyone has had this problem, and if so, do you have a solution?  The Linksys forums have a lot of posts on this topic, but none of the suggested fixes worked for me, so I am seeking thoughts alternatives here.

    2. by way of solution, it was suggested to me to try to add a TCP/IP port to the printer and try to print using LPR.  I only vaguely understand the importance and the technical stuff underlying all of this, but I think I did what I had to do to put in place.  It does not, however, and it seems that the problem is with the queue implementation.  Neither L1 (the setting suggested by Linksys), or other parameters (L2, L3, USB1) no longer work.  I would be grateful if someone could advise me of the method to determine the appropriate queue setting.

    I don't know if this should be broadcast in printers or wireless networking forum, so I write both.  I apologize for any inconvenience that this duplication creates.

  • Something very wrong with the support of ACR 2015.6/6.6

    So I installed the last LR update yesterday. Don't think much on this subject that I have never had any real problems with the Adobe software.

    Tonight, I was going back on some old footage, from 2014, taken with my Fuji X - E2 I had converted to DNG in the native of Fuji, RAF RAW files using either the LR built in DNG converter or the stand alone DNG Converter.

    All the images in many cases dated back as unreadable. So I opened LR 5.7.1 and all these images are very good.

    Then I opened bridge CC and get the same result. Damaged or illegible images. Does not open in PS > ACR or ACR directly from bridge. Is even not displayed the image in Bridge

    I've since restored LR to 2015.5.1 and everything is back to normal for LR.

    But I'm stuck now without PS or bridge because I can't find a place to download the installer of origin without the most recent update. I'll post this in the forum of Photoshop.
