Withdrawal of the keyboard on Equium M50

Hey people

Hope one of you can help out me. I'm looking to upgrade the memory on the Equium M50 - 164 I and am stuck in the removal of the keyboard. I've updated the memory in the expansion to 1 GB port and all is well. I now want to spend another memory location 1 additional GB. I checked the types of speeds of memory etc... and have the correct memory, however, I can't for the life of figure me out how to remove the keyboard without breaking clips and plastic!

Any help or get detailed instructions on the removal of the keyboard would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hello

Have you found that one slot at the bottom of the device memory or why you want to remove the keyboard?

I m not 100% sure but in my opinion the two slots should be placed at the bottom of the unit and the removal of the keyboard is not necessary.

Anyway, the Equium M50 is unknown to me but I think that the keyboard was fixed by 2 screws above the keyboard. If you want to remove the screws to remove first the cover plastic thin above the keyboard.
Then you should be able to set the keyboard but do not forget that you have also disconnected the ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard.

  • Upgrade the HDD in Equium M50-192

    Hi all

I have a laptop Equium M50-192 with the HDD 60 GB MK6021GAS inside.
Does anyone know if I can improve it with the hard disk of 120 GB MK1646GSX.

I found the site http://www.storage.toshiba.eu and I checked the two discs; but I don't know if the MK1646GSX disk has a compatible interface type.
I am confused about the differences between ATAPI/IDE (60 GB MK6021GAS) and Serial ATA (120 GB MK1646GSX).

Basically can anyone tell me if the 120 GB MK1646GSX will work instead of the 60 GB MK6021GAS?

    Any help gratefully received.

    Hello

There is a big difference between the IDE HDD and the SATA HDD interface!

Equium M50 supports the IDE interface and only IDE hard drives are compatible.
You can use a HARD drive that supports IDE ATA-6 interface.

In addition, you should know that the BIOS supports a HARD drive size limitation. This means that not all HARD drive sizes are supported.
In my opinion the 120 GB should be ok but it s just my personal suggestion. You know? ;)

    Hello

Make sure that the keyboard cable is firmly connected to the system board.

Help, please. And thans in advance

    Hey Buddy

In order to remove the keyboard that you would have to first remove the long strip placed over plastic keys F1 - F12.
Under this long plastic cover, you will find a few screws holding the keyboard.
You will need to remove these screws to remove keyboard.

Notes; the keyboard is connected to the computer with the cable short and flat.
Be careful and don't use any force!

If you don't know how to remove the keyboard contact a technician for laptop.
In this case, you are always on the right side

  • Trackpad/point does not not after the withdrawal of the keyboard

Earlier today I opened my T510 for maintenance. In doing so, I removed the keyboard. After all together, the trackpoint/trackpad didn't work. This includes the the * beep *-all the buttons of the mouse mouse and trackpad. The trackpad was not yet removed, but I guess that the data connection for through the rest of the keyboard (?).

I took the keyboard several times to ensure that the connection is secure and verify if physical damage. There was nothing.

The obvious thing to do here is to replace the keyboard and desperately hope that the problem is not with the connector on the motherboard, but the problem is enough strange (keyboard works, but not the mouse) thatI thought it would be interesting to post here to see if anyone noticed.

    Solved.

As I mentioned in the last post, the trackpad connects to the motherboard through the cable labled as a speaker in the manual wire (this can be easily seen after removing the keyboard/trackpad of the machine Panel). There is a small latch to hold the cable in place at the end of the mobo. I had mixed the States secured and unsecured for this lock, which apparently broke the connection. That fixed now and everything works.

It's probably point out expressly that the * beep *-the mouse on the keyboard and mouse buttons do not seem to be depenent on the trackpad is properly plugged in, despite a separate connection to the mobo.

  • How to replace the keyboard Vaio 15 Flip

If the keyboard on my Flip 15 suddenly stopped working. Market not even work in the BIOS. I tried a coercive power off and battery off pinhole and nothing has helped. The backlight still works and if I press Capslock on a USB keyboard, the green light on the laptop press Capslock becomes very well, but not a single key on the keyboard does nothing. The key of the Windows logo on the screen still works, and the Assist button still works. Good thing the BIOS menu takes in charge the touch pad AND the touch screen!

I wanted to see if the keyboard was replaceable, so I can go on the order of one off eBay or something (unless Sony sells parts direct?), so here are some photos I took along the way.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step1.jpg

After power off, switch off the power of the battery using the trombone for 2-3 seconds

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step2.jpg

After removing the 3 rubber feet, there are 10 screws to screw

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step3.jpg

Lift the casing to open gently and work your way around the edges.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step4.jpg

There are 8 screws that hold the battery. Remove and remove the battery.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step5.jpg

Although only the upper-left corner of these 4 screws is now directly the keyboard, remove the other 3 and turn the shutters to exit both cables in water. Remove the hard drive here will make it easier to push on the bottom of the keyboard later.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step6.jpg

Yet once, only the top left screw shown here directly holds the keyboard, but the last screw attached to the keyboard is behind this metal, so unscrew the 5 others live here marked 1-5. These 5 will not come out all the way.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/Step7.jpg

Unplug the power to the fan by pulling upward. The last screw attached to the keyboard is behind the metal as shown. I folded just Assembly of the road a little to access the screw.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step8.jpg

Here you can see where the holes behind the hard drive, which allows you to easily start the withdrawal of the keyboard.

Only detach the superior, left and right by pushing upward and work your way around. The lower part of the keyboard (closest to the touchpad) will just slide upward and out after that the other 3 sides are released.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step9.jpg

Here is another view with everything removed.

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step10.jpg

The back of the keyboard, showing where the 3 screws attached. Tablecloth for the keyboard cables attach to the motherboard by dragging the output to the front (not not turning up like those on top of the hard drive).

    http://ark42.com/Sony/keyboard/step11.jpg

The keyboard is completely removed. Circles show where the 3 screws attach to the back.

Well, I hope this is all useful to people. I put all together and the laptop still works fine. The keyboard does not at all well, but I know that I can replace it myself now.

    * edit * will probably order http://www.ebay.com/itm//171781254290 because it does not resemble Sony sells direct parts I can find anywhere. Ordered http://www.ebay.com/itm/260951528702 instead for like $2 more, because the Canada ships seemed faster than ships from China.

  • Disassemble the U350 to replace the keyboard?

    Hello

I need help to take apart a Lenovo Ideapad U350 to replace/repair the keyboard (a couple of keys are unresponsive). However, I struggle to take the case apart to get it out. I removed all the screws 'obvious' (including those behind the hard drive), the battery, but there is something that seems to hold the right hand just in the two USB connectors. Any idea? I feel using several force is going to break something.

    Best regards

    Hi Roger,

    I hope this helps...

    Quote:

... caveat: it's a pain in the butt to dismantle this laptop. So unless you think you're experienced enough, I wouldn't recommend it. You can easily ruin...

..... So what you have to do is to remove all the screws on the underside. Then remove the cover of your hard disk, which is held by 6 screws. The hard drive itself is maintained by a screw. Remove it, slide it to the side. Below, you'll find a three other screws screw. The keyboard must be delete too because below there are two screws more silver lid. Withdrawal of the keyboard means three live two tabs and cable under the alt and the SPACEBAR, detachment. Then the coverage of the silver must be removable, but it is not very easy, so be careful...
