WLan missing after installing Win XP in Satellite Pro 6000

Hello

I bought a second hand Toshiba SP 6000.
The computer worked pretty badly so I deleted everything and installed Windows XP.

I've been abke to make it work very well, but it does not recognize that there is wireless lan device, even when I try to inatall Web page of the follwing corresponding Toshiba driver,

One can help on this?

Thank you

Hi mate

I think you just tried to install a bad driver Wlan.
I think its an Ethernet device listed in device-> network cards Manager.
Right?

It's the wireless network card!
You can view the code of the vendor and device iD in device-> ehternet properties-> Details tab Manager

You will find something like this:
PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_4229 &

FRI means provider
DEV: device

For the unique ID, you can use the PCI database
http://www.PCIDatabase.com/

And here you find the Wlan drivers:

    Hello :)

I hope you can help me, got a little problem.

I have a portable Equiem which has XP Home Edition (SP3) on him now (originally Vista)

    * Missing modem drivers

In total there are about 6 or 7 missing, but those are the most important.

Any ideas where I can find them?

    Cheers in advance!

    Hello

Equium L40 - 10Z belongs to the series of PSL41E.
I didn t find Win XP driver on the European driver page, but AFAIK the Equium L40 supports the card Atheros Wlan, ADI AD1986A audio chip and Agere Delphi modem chip.

Driver WLAN can be found here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

But you should google and research on some 3rd a prty pages for ADI AD1986A its chip driver and driver modem Agere Delphi

  • No sound after installing Windows 7 on Satellite Pro U200

    Hello

I just installed Windows 7 Professional on my Satellite Pro U200 10 p.

    Available for XP Pro.

Sound has stopped working since the new facility (which fromatting the drive - no partition) and can not find a solution. The v6.10.1.6000 of SoundMAX Integrated Digittal HD Audio Driver is installed. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but this doesn't seem to be the right driver. I can't find info to tell me what the correct driver can be either. The Toshiba site is a little sparse on Windows 7 drivers for this model and gives no indication that the driver may be is.

Windows 7 does not think that there is a problem and some reports that "this device works properly." in speaker properties > Configuration information dialog box. However not coming out, the speakers or the 3.5 mm jack

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello

Go to Device Manager and check what sound chip you have exactly:

    Use this statement:
[How to identify an unknown device? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=78]

Then you should be able to find a good pilot.
I also recommend remove/delete the sound card in Device Manager.
Just select the audio remove card and press on, and then restart the laptop

PS: Are you sure that the sound is not muted? Please check this too!

    Hey,.

After Installing Win 7 32 bit, I had no functionality of FN.
I tried to find and also tried some drivers on the homepage, but I don't have the right one.

If some know what driver I need exactly?

    Thank you!

    Hi mate

Did you install VAP (value added package)?
If this is not the case, to do this. After that, restart the laptop and check the functionality of the FN button.

If the FN button would not work, install utility Support Flash Card which you could find in the box driver for other portable computer laptops; for example L500

  • Can satellite A300d-16W - I use HARD drive recovery after installing Win XP?

I formatted my PC and installed XP. Can I reinstall Vista using HARD drive recovery?

    > I formatted my PC and install XP

No, you cannot use the recovery HARD drive after installing Win XP because looks like you have formatted the HARD drive and the HARD disk partition has been erased.

So you need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk that I hope, you created before you formatted the HARD drive.

Anyone know which Module WLAn can be used in a Satellite Pro 6000.
My NB is pre-installed for WLan but I don't want to use only 11MBit Module and the other are not signed for the SP6000.
Can I use this module to 54 megabits?
    Thank you

    Hello

As far as I know this unit supports only the 802. 11b Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card.
This Mini PCI card, I got with a flow of data 11Mbit.
In this case, I think that you can use a Mini PCI card with 11Mbit.
But nevertheless you ca also use a PCMCIA wireless card. This card is also available with 54 Mbps data rate.

    Good bye

There are many indications in other Threads, but nothing has worked.
Does anyone have a step by step instruction?

Very important to know if your Satellite Pro 6000 laptop was equipped with WLan car or not!

If the wireless network adapter is available please check if the right WLan driver has been installed and if the wireless network adapter has been properly recognized!

I searched a little one found that the wireless network cards optional to this series of laptop; This means that some 6000 Pro will be delivered with the Wlan card and some books don't have this module!

  • Satellite Pro 6000: what is a 3rd Brown cable to WLan?

I recently bought a second hand toshiba satellite pro 6000. When I bought the wireless adapter is not connected correctly, the black and white wires are connected to the mini pc card, but there is a Brown wire with the same end of the connector that is loose.
I don't see where it is supposed to go, and the result is that the quality of the connection is bad at 13%.

If anyone could tell me where this third cable must be connected to it should enhance my quality link (the signal is excellent at 100%)

    Thank you.

    Hello

The 3rd cable does not for me but maybe it's for BT. as far as I know that you need to connect only 2 cables to the Board of Directors to use the Wlan. The performance has nothing to do how many cables are connected.
The white cable usually goes to the hand and the black to the auxiliary voltage

  • Satellite Pro 6000 RAM upgrade problems

Apologies for multiple - originally, I put this in the Satellite rather than the Satellite Pro series Forum.

I have an old Satellite Pro 6000 that has 256 MB of RAM in it, and accordingly, as he tries harder sound, it is not the fastest machines.

I want to increase the RAM to 1 GB, which I believe is the maximum and 2 sticks of memory of 512 MB PC133 CL3 3.3V, which I think should work fine.

However, I tried to install either as a pair or separately, with the 256 MB of RAM, and when I put the memory in, the PC resolutely refuses to start. The lights of power lights, but it is only it works.

I put the original 256 MB of RAM in the slot, and it works fine.

I'm something wrong or missing something?

    Any help appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

    > Am I something wrong or missing something?
Of course, you use the memory bad or is not compatible!

Initialization not after an upgrade of memory is a common behavior if the modules are not compatible or do not work.

You can upgrade the memory to 1024 MB (2x512MB) max and page Toshiba should run these modules:
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)
