WLAN to provide "24/7".

Hello

the WIFI network is made for the use of 24/7?

I'll buy an airport. In fact it takes extreme AP, because the iMac will be connected via an Ethernet cable to the EPA and the AirPort Express have a limit of 100 Mbit/s and my Internet is faster (actually 130 Mbit/s).

But I had an idea: I could use AirPort Express and the iMac could be connected via a WLAN (maximum speed 300 Mbps). As a result, WLAN would work "24/7".

Apple's Support helped me and says it works perfectly.

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite laptop computer with Windows XP. I wonder what should I use windows update to download patches and additions or only
install quick fix from the Toshiba support pages? Is there a difference?

I noticed that to the Toshiba support site, there is no new update (miracles) have come in this year at all.

I ask this because I have some time ago asked Toshiba (when I contacted their support) I use only WLAN updates provided by Toshiba, Intel does not update even if I have the Intel WLAN card in my laptop and there was new driver at the side of Intel.

I agree with the previous user. I never installed all the patches page download Toshiba, just used Windows Update option in Explorer. So far, I've never noticed some problems.

If you clean the OS installation I recommend you to install SP2 (if missing) and after doing this run Windows updates.

I can't tell you much on Intel, but I repeatedly used newer drivers directly from the Intel download page.

  • Satellite A300D-11 t (PSAK0E) cannot install the video driver

    Hello!

I can't find a video driver for my laptop (Win XP). Unfortunately I lost a CD I got with it. The drivers I found on the official website of Toshiba didn't work - display-20090925081024 or display-20071214163138.
A user of the forum USA Toshiba (cee_64) advised me to install a driver of motherboard chipset, but I could not install a driver because the appropriate web page (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK) says that, for the following parameters: short model No. = PSAK0E, Type of driver = "Chip Set Utility", country = all language = all , he could not provide any driver: "Sorry we could not find the drivers matching your search criteria", so I assumed that simply (and apparently unjustly) I don't have the drivers for my motherboard. A few other drivers (its LAN, WLAN,) are provided in the section of the conductors of the web page and I have successfully installed.

Can someone help me? Please, I beg you! :-) For now, I use 1024 x 768 mode only... :-(

  • Shows scan wireless SSID stale

Windows 7 SP 1, 64 - bit. Describes the problem seen with the two internal Centrino Advanced-N 6235, external USB wifi, so I'm calling cela an OS problem, not a driver problem.

If I am connected to an access point and access point is disabled, both the pullup Wireless Network Connection and netsh wlan show networks (run as administrator) continue to show that I am connected to the access point.  This persists for at least 20-30 seconds or more, including several refreshes of the analysis. If I was not connected to the access point, it continues to show in the analysis as if it was available for a connection.

Basically, the list contains obsolete information SSID, and I would like to find a way to empty the SSID stale in the list so that it shows only the current SSID.

Before the SP 1, there was a fix for what looks like the same problem observed in a slightly different way:

This problem occurs because the WLAN API provides an old BSSID the application after you move the computer to a new access point.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2385405

In this case, the user was connected to a point of access before hibernation, moved the laptop to a place out of reach of this access point, came out of hibernation and the WLAN API has continued to reach access point connection.

  • Assign 1 NIC purely for VMWare Workstation

    Hi all

I recently gave me a Z1 HP Workstation PC for my office.

It is an integrated wireless and wired connections.

What I would do, is use the wireless purely for VMware workstation 7 and connect it to our test card WLAN to provide connectivity to the outside (for the windows updates, etc.).

Then use the wired connection, to connect to the domain network.

Anyone know if this is possible? I can't find much info about him.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Good then you have to try to work around the problem.

The host WiFi network adapter, let all IP6 verified but protocols and then manually set the IP4 address to a 169.254.x.x address while retaining the good mask subnet, default gateway, and DNS for the LAN router.  It comes in a way that is known to work however, it is still dependent on how the wifi adapter and the WiFi router manages normal communications.  If it works, what it does is to allow the virtual machine is to use the VMware bridge Protocol but the 169.254.x.x address stops the host itself to use.  Other normal settings for good subnet mask, default gateway and DNS servers for the LAN router has been know to turn on the bypass, which will take place on a WiFi network card and or WiFi routers.  In some cases, make what you want may have to be done via wired Ethernet, if a WiFi solution cannot be implemented.

If it does not we know as there may be other things to try with the WiFi before you have to implement a wired Ethernet solution.

  • HP G053US 17: WLAN has become very sensitive, hardware ID is not driver provided by HP

I bought a new laptop, HP17 G053US of Office Depot. It came with Win8 installed OEM.

It worked very well, no problems with the use of the wireless card. I can't quantify the intensity of the signal received, other than to say it was 3 to 5 bars, identical to a cell adjacent.

Since then, I have reinstalled Win8.1 Pro x 64. The WLAN now detects more no signal of any wireless routers/modems. Zero to five bars (while the portable computer side still shows 3 of 5).

I loaded the drivers in the sequence of the BIOS, chipset, then WLAN. Nothing helps.

It comes from the source , I got the drivers from.

    WLAN HP's driver information:

Wireless 802.11b/g/n Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE LAN drivers

    Version: 2023.5.130.2015 Rev.A

Information about drivers in Device Manager:

    Broadcom 802.11n network adapter

    Driver provider: Microsoft

    Driver date: 31/05/2013

    Driver version: 6.30.223.102

When you view the info driver through the Device Manager, it seems strange that the driver that I downloaded from HP was Realtek, yet the displayed info was Broadcom and Microsoft. So, I checked the hardware ID of the WLAN and verified that it is indeed a Broadcom device.

    ID of material as follows:

    PCI/VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & SUBSYS_804A103C & REV_01

    PCI/VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & SUBSYS_804A103C

    PCI/VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & CC_028000

    PCI/VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & CC_0280

I searched HP and Broadcom, but so far have not been able to find a driver that will support this material in combination with Win8.1 x 64. If there is such a driver, please let me know how I can get it.

If not, can you suggest anything else I can do to increase the sensitivity of this device? Perhaps some adjustments following it has advanced options of the Device Manager? And any idea when will be released a pilot easier to apply?

    Thank you

    Hello:

The hardware ID, is what you have to go to identify the exact model of the wireless card.

It's a brand new model of wireless card Broadcom, and it would be the pilot W8.1 you need to do this.

    ~ What to do?

    k.

    Hello Karl,.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

If I understand your message and your Mac connects to your Wi - Fi network, but you don't get any active Internet connection.  I suggest follows her through the steps in the link below to help get this problem is resolved.

Symptom: My Mac does not connect to Internet

    • Web pages do not open in Safari or other web browsers. These pages may be blank, or you may receive an alert that "you are not connected to the Internet.
    • Applications Internet such as Mail, iChat or the App Store cannot connect to their servers.

Note: routers can be configured to allow certain services using the Internet (e.g. E-mail) while preventing other services using the Internet (such as web browsers). If you don't know how you have configured your network, contact your network administrator. If your network is not configured to block services, but some Internet applications work and others not, the problem is probably not related to your Wi - Fi network.

    Solution

Follow these steps if your computer is unable to get online.

    1. Make sure that a wireless connection is on.

Mac OS X allows you to disable your Wi - Fi (AirPort) card fully in case you do not want to use it. The Wi - Fi card may be turned off accidentally. If your WiFi interface is turned on and connected to a wireless network, the Wi - Fi menu will be "BOLD". The Wi - Fi menu is at the top right of the screen.

If your menu looks like the one above, your computer is connected to a Wi - Fi network. Proceed to step 2 below.

If a Wi - Fi connection is disabled, choose Activate Wi - Fi on in the menu.

Note: If the Wi - Fi menu icon has an exclamation point, see this article.

If the icon is not in the menu bar, then choose System Preferences from the menu Apple . Click on the network icon, then select Wi - Fi. Check the box "Status see the Wi - Fi in the menu bar".

If your Wi - Fi interface does not appear in the preferences system, then you should make sure that your WiFi card is recognized by your Mac. Start from the installation media supplied with your computer or the Recovery HD if OS X Lion is installed. Your computer must be able to access the available networks.

    2. If you are still not able to get online, make sure that your computer has joined the correct Wi - Fi network.

Your Wi - Fi network should appear in the menu of free Wi - Fi connection. The Wi - Fi network to which your Mac is associated will be checked, as shown below:

Select your network if it is not chosen. If your wireless network is secured with a password, you will be asked to enter a password, as shown below.

Note: If you do not know your network password, you will need to contact the administrator of your Wi - Fi network. If you are the network owner/administrator, you may need to configure your router to set the password for the network.

Your Wi - Fi network may not appear in the list. If the network is closed, it will not broadcast its network name. In order to join the wireless network menu, choose others join the network Wi-Fi . You will be prompted for the network name and security settings.

Enter the name of your network and choose that uses the security of your network.

If your network is still not visible in your Wi - Fi network list, then perhaps uses an incompatible WiFi standard. Most of the Mac supports all common standards of Wi - Fi. To check what are the standards supported by your Mac, use the network utility. The Wi - Fi network interface value and examine the information after "model:

  • If your computer has joined the correct Wi - Fi network, but still you can't get online, you should check your TCP/IP settings in the network system preferences pane.
    1. Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
    2. On the view menu, choose network .
    3. Select wireless, and then click the Advanced button in the corner at the bottom left of the screen.
    4. Select the TCP/IP tab at the top of the screen.
    5. Your window should look like this (your IPv4 configuration may be different and your IPv4 address will certainly be different):

    6. If no IPv4 address appears, or if the IP address starts with '169.254.xxx.xxx', click on 'renew the DHCP lease.
    7. See your network administrator to determine the correct TCP/IP settings for your wireless network. Without the correct TCP/IP settings, your computer will not be able to get online.
    8. If your TCP/IP settings appear to be correct and your computer cannot always access the Internet, check the DNS tab. See below for this tab DNS is an Internet service that translates IP addresses in URLs and vice versa. A correct DNS configuration allows your computer to connect to www.apple.com without having to enter the specific IP address, the Apple servers.

  • You can contact your ISP for DNS addresses or use the DNS provided by a public utility. To add a new DNS address, click on the + and enter the IP address for DNS.
  • Try to connect to your router by Ethernet, if your Mac has Ethernet. Connect an Ethernet cable directly to your router Wi - Fi to your computer.
  • Control your scope to the Wi - Fi router and reduce the effect of interference. If your computer is too far from your Wi - Fi router or your environment has too much interference from Wi - Fi, then your computer may not detect the wireless network properly. To test the limits of the beach with your Wi - Fi network, the easiest method is to bring your computer or router Wi - Fi together and ensure that there are no obstacles (such as walls, cupboards, etc.) between the router and your computer.

See the potential of wireless interference sources for more information on interference, its causes and solutions.

  • Try to connect to another Wi - Fi network.

If your computer has no symptoms when it is connected to a different Wi - Fi network, the problem may be related to your network router or your ISP. In this case, contact the manufacturer of your router or your ISP.

  • How to troubleshoot Wi - Fi connectivity in OS X Lion or earlier

  • Portege Z930 - network WLan problems

    Z930 Windows 7 is 3 years old.
I'm having problems connecting to the home network and I do not understand the clues to work towards a solution.

Other laptops can connect to the wired network and wireless, but cant Z930, or down and will not show the home network.

    Appear networks nearby.

Z930 can connect to the point of mobile internet access on phones, but that does not provide access to servers and network.

Disable the Firewall Norton 360 and the protection doesn't seem to help.

At a time and only once, I saw the message invalid network address.

Logical, said the material is OK because can connect to the wifi phone.

I don't know where to begin try andworkout why z930 can't seen to connect to the home network.

    > I'm having problems connecting to the home network and I do not understand the clues to work towards a solution.
I want to be sure I understood your problem:

You ve set up the wireless network at home (I assume you are using the WLan router, etc.) but you are not able to connect the Portege Z930 to your wireless home network.
    Is this correct?

Since you are able to connect this notebook to internet hotspots (public WLan) I guess the wireless network for laptop s and WLan card driver are installed and are working correctly.

Are you able to connect the laptop to the internet using LAN?

In case this also not possible, you must reset your router and should go through the router options unique to ensure that each option has been set correctly.

In addition I recommend you renew the IP address by typing this command using the console (to start the console type CMD in RUN)
In the Console (black DOS window), you must type: + IPCONFIG / RENEW.
This would renew the ip address that is assigned automatically the provided by the router ip address pool.

  • M40-154 satellite WLAN interface does not send a single packet

    Hello

I own a Toshiba M40-154 with built-in Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Chipset. I am running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. 9.0.1.9 driver version.

The Windows hardware Manager shows no conflict about resources memory, interruptions or anything else, just said me eth. would be nice (.. .and Yes, I changed the WLAN switch in front of the box to 'on')

I configured both Wireless-Lan, once using the Toshiba and Windows XP itself once.

Wireless networks are recognized, but I can't make any connection. It seems kind of strange to me, because when sniffing Interface with Ethereal, lie, not a single packet is sent by my WLAN interface. I checked all the configuration on another laptop with the same chipset and just works well.

After the first installation of Win XP, I had a similar problem with my Marvel Yukon LAN interface. He comes to recognize connectivity (even LED a cover connectivity) but not sent or received a single package. I could only get rid of this feature by installing the device drivers located sequentially.

When you run the diagnostic tool for Toshiba it tells me just the network test "fails". I m really get angry with this tool to completely unnecessary IMHO, because she neither doesn´t made the distinction between my work correctly Marvel Yukon LAN and WIFI, nor give me any hint, what could be the problem...

Anyone with similar problems or able to give me a clue?

    [Edited by: admin August 10 05 19:33]

    Hello

I'm really confused. Last week I set up the Satellite M40 and WLAN network by a friend of mine. His unit is pre-installed with recovery DVDs and everything works fine.

Have you had problems at the beginning or just after installing WXP professional? I put t know how you installed the operating system, but I hope that you used the instructions to facilities provided by Toshiba. The order of the facilities is very important.

If the WIFI network is visible in my opinion there must be a problem with the WLAN settings. Your WLAN is locked with a WEP key? Try to establish a connection without restriction.

I hope that your access point is just configured and type of PPPoE. In this case the IP address must be the value automatically.

Sorry, but on this path, it is really not easy to say what may be the problem.

    Good bye
