    Hello

It is somehow possible to upgrade my 8770w to 802.11ac LY560EA WIFI network?

I read that it should not be a problem with the white list, because it's an IvyBridge, correct?
    But what card WLAN-would work?

Thank you very much in advance and best regards,

    Marc

You can improve your workstation to a network card Intel using ac 802.11.

Who would work is theIntel Networkcontroller AC3160.

The downside to this card is that you lose the feature WI - DI. Not streaming on a HD Smart TV. Personally, I would not lose this functionality. 802.11ac is not as wonderful as you think it is. It has its limits. 802.11ac, does not as easily as 802.11 g and 802.11n drill through walls.

Since your workstation is a 2012 model, there is no present whitelist in the BIOS to prevent upgrades.

A candidate wifi adapter that will be compatible with your workstation must have a mini PCIe interface.

There is no wifi m2 adapters that are compatible with your workstation, since there is no slot m2 on motherboard of your workstation.

  • HP envy 13 d045tu: module WLAN upgrade

I have 100 Mbps internet fiber to the home, and because this laptop is equipped with Broadcom BCM43142 802.11b/g/n Wireless Network Adapter, I usually get 40-50mbps, which is not allow me to fully use my internet speed because of the wifi n standard.

So I was wondering if this model (d045tu) can be upgraded to a WLAN wifi ac module. And if so, what model is compatible?

    Thank you!!

Yes, your laptop is very recent, so there is no problem with the white list of HP, which existed until about 3 years ago. You can install this alternative WiFi card:

    Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2 × 2 WiFi + Bluetooth Combo Adapter 793840-005 4.0

You could actually install any wireless card, straight form factor, but the Intel 7265ac HP replacement part is probably the best adapter wireless market in this format.

The part above has a different number of the Part of HP, but is the same device. Part number 793840-005 real is $ 60 per amazon.com and this one is $ 24.

The service manual from HP for my laptop shows two options without wire - AC:

    Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2 x 2 WiFi + BT 4.0 adapter (no vPRO) - REF: 793840-005

    Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1 x 1 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter - REF: 806723-005.

    Same form factor.

    This is the AC8260 module:

Your laptop has no whitelist, then it can use any adapter wifi with the correct form factor and the number of antennas. The form of factors are slightly different for me, but it is difficult to say may be the angle of the image. I would stick with one of the 2 specified cards compatible with your system.

  • How to install a minPCI on Satellite A30 wireless network card

Just signed up for broadband services and got myself a wireless router. Satellite A30 I use has the ability to connect wireless but a mini PCI Wireless.

Before I go ahead and buy a card (instead of say a USB wireless adapter) I wonder how the cards are easy to install? -It looks simple enough.

In addition, the cards I have met on Ebay, all seem to be pretty standard, but are there any features or specifications should I look out for or seek to avoid?

Probably pretty simple questions, but I think it's better to get it right the first time, rather than ordering something, I can find is not compatible, or that I can not install.

    Andy.

    Hello

Can you please send what Satellite A30 you (A30 - xxx)?

Anyway, if I remember well WLAN upgrade shouldn't be problematic (if the laptop WLAN ready). In the lower corner you will find the WLAN card cover (a smaller one). You can find the WLAN card slot. Put the card inside and connect the WLAN antenna. The white cable be connected to the HAND and black to the auxiliary voltage

  • Why no dual NIC card?

    I have a laptop of 15 t - n200 old HP Pavilion of 4 week which is 8.1 Windows Pro 64-bit.

I also have (and am downgrading) a HP Pavilion DV8 - 1000 CTO.

I was shocked to discover that my old laptop has a dual band NETWORK card and my other does not work!  I was even more shocked to see that HP does not sell the current line of the pavilions with a dual band NETWORK card (I thought I bought one online).

I have 2.4 G and 5G in my house (I need 5G to run the products as my Apple TV with movies stored on an external hard drive).

I tried to get an answer from HP, nothing done, at this point.  I even opened an executive complaint (case No.: 300369376) with a nice boy named Jeff who knows little about the technical aspects of the Wi - Fi.

Can I replace my current map of the NETWORK (from my DV8-1000) interface card in my new TouchSmart 15 t-200?  It's going to be a problem of white list?  Can I install the Intel dual ac 7260HMW card?  Or, I'll buy the NETWORK card that is appropriate, but I need 5G connectivity or else I lost $748.00 on a Clipboard of HP.

I'm practically LIVID that I have could not buy a NIC dual band with my new Pavilion, but was able to do this with my old DV8t of 5 years.  And more that HP did not have that clear during my online purchase.

    Please advise, thank you!

    Hello:

All I can say is try your dv8 card if it's the same form factor half mini card.

HP didn't / don't have the BIOS whitelists certainly to your dv8, but I read a few posts from our forum members who have installed different dual-band cards (I also think that includes the new Board of Directors of Intel cards) in their series notebooks Pavilion 15/17 with no problems at all. I refer to such a post below.

The referenced model is a display model 17 inches of the 15 series and what blew my mind was this material even has the 7260 Intel and AMD worked!

This leads me to believe that HP may have abandoned this practice.

This is the best I have, or someone else can do to help you with your question.

  • RALink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter will not connect to 802.11 g, windows 8.1

    Hello

I'm not familiar with the forum. Hoping I can get any help

Last week I boght a HP ENVY 15-j040el
S/N [deleted serial number for personal protection to prevent others from using SN for filing fraudulent claims guarantee]
    Product number: E4N80EA

Since the beginning, I noticed without wire did not detect signal of 5G of my router, but I was so anxious to perform the installation to the end

Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I tried:

    -upgrade to 8.1 Windows

-upgrade to 5.0.37.0 (25.11.13) RT3290 wireless network card driver

I wonder if I should configure the parameters of the advance of the RT3290 driver

    Thanks in advance

You are the very welcome, Sergio.

I am a consumer like you and do not work for HP, if unfortunately, I do not know what model wireless cards HP installs in their notebooks.

I agree with you, however, that 5.0 GHz has been around for centuries now, and it is high time that HP installs a better dual band $10 card.

I'm sure that people would be happy to pay the extra price.

My understanding is that HP may have removed the white list of BIOS to immobilize the wireless cards are not not in manual work, so you can experiment and see if you can install a dual band card in your notebook.

No guarantee that it will work, but a year ago, I would have told you that it was impossible.

    See this thread.

  • Need help with the upgrade of the WLAN on Satellite Pro 6100 minipci card

Hello everyone, I desperately tried to update my WIRELESS card on my laptop SP6100, since it was delivered with a card minipci wifi-b, which is not fast enough today. s standards.

Each piece of the Toshiba official documentation mention the SP6100 has a mini-PCI type 3a slot, so can accommodate two minipci card a type 3a and 3B wifi.
But unfortunately for me, I discovered the hard way that it is absolutely NOT the case - I was put back by a fortune by buying costs for a type3 intel minipci wifi card, which does NOT at all on the laptop.

I spent an hour in unnecessary calls to the customer service from Toshiba, that I had to convince PCMCIA certainly isn't the same as miniPCI, and Mini - PCI cards ARE CERTAINLY replaceable by the user. She insisted that she could not be changed by the user of the system, but by toshiba themselves.

Could someone please please advise me on the type of wifi card that are built with the SP6100 laptops? I think is it AGERE brand, in the form of WLAN minipci card. I know that it IS certainly NOT miniPCI type 3.

    Help, please! Thank you.
And besides, every place that I tried so far appears only sell type3 miniPCI cards,
Other types of Mini-PCI cards are available to retail customers?

    Infinite thanks!

    Hello

You must understand that your model of laptop is quite old and right now the market wasn't available standard b. I'm pretty skeptical that you will be able to use the standard WLAN with G maps due to compatibility issues. On this forum, I founded several threads that people write about the problems of upgrading older models of laptops with the new wireless network cards.

In my opinion the best solution for you is to use a PCMCIA WLAN card. The installation should be easy and you can use the wireless network with faster data transfer adapter.

  • Satellite L500 - 20 X - switch WLAN does not work after upgrade to Windows 8

    Hello

    I extend my Toshiba Satellite L500 - 20 X for Windows 8.
Unfortunately, since this update my WLAN switch is no longer working. All function keys work only (switch WLAN) F8 to F7, and F9 (touchpad) is more work.

    What can I do?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards
    Klaus

Satellite L500 is not win 8 taken upgrade supported, so I think that the problem is a missing driver or software

As far as I know to be able to use the keys FN added value package to win 8 must be installed.
Check another area driver Toshiba notebook series supporting the Win 8.
Maybe you could use the VAP released for other series.

I read somewhere that it may need new drivers or something like that, but I'm not tech savvy and don't know where to start.

In a first time can you please post exact model laptop (L650-xxx) number?

A card with 56 mbit is also possible, but who is the best?

    Frank

    Hello

Well, it is a complete description of this map:

    SparkLAN WMIA-123AG - 802.11a/b/g WLAN Mini PCI Atheros (AR5004X)

I m not 100% sure, but I think you can use this card because it supports 802.11a/b/g standard. But to be on the safe side, you can ask the partner to Toshiba service for detailed information.

  • Qosmio G30-204 - upgrade of the WLAN card

    Hi people.

I currently have an Intel pro/Wireless 3945ABG Network card in my laptop. If I had to upgrade to a newer version, which we'd be one of the newest and best for my laptop?

And the new WiMax from Intel would work in the Qosmio G30 - 204?

    Hey Buddy,

The antenna is placed under the cover of the display and cables are placed under the keyboard or with other words, they are connected to the wireless network card.

By the way: an upgrade to the draft N standard is not possible. In my view an update of the WLAN card is not logical.
