WLC issue 2125

Hello

I installed a Cisco WLC 2125 and 15 LAP 1121 G for a company that has 130 users connected to the wireless network. There are several applications on the LAN servers and users have the problem of flow when downloading files from servers.

I think the problem is on the choice of the Witch of controller have a 100 Mbps on the network uplink.

So I would like to know if there is a solution with this controller or should I use a witch WLC 4402-25 have two gigabit uplink ports.

Thank you.

As 2100 series controllers do not LAG support, your only option with them is to buy new and balance the load. If you are going to invest the money, however, you are right to say that you must move to 4400 s.

What is your percent of flow on this link? If you use wireless heavily, it wouldn't surprise me if you touch more than 100 Mbit/s with 15 access points, but it's worth checking in case something else happens here.

  • GUI display in 2504 WLC on 8.3.102.0 problems and communication issues

I had to take two of my WLC 2504 version 8.3.102.0 code to support the APs news with domain B. The WLC came with 7.6 which is postponed, so I tried both versions of ED last 8.2 and 8.3, but then the GUI is almost unusable. I can only reliable get in on the CLI but users at this location use the graphical interface of surveillance. Are there changes in the settings of browser required for the GUI work reliably?

It's a problem with only a few of our controllers running 8.0 or 8.2. In general, I use Firefox like Chrome has this issue with me. IE and Edge seems to works fine too, but prefer Firefox. Any code your race to be honest. We always can understand this except to refresh the browser.  I run 8.3 at home and I have not touched any GUI question still.

  • WLC 5508 internal DHCP server issues

    Hello

I'm hoping to get your comments around the issues of dhcp, I faced with two centrally switched Wireless LAN. I have attempted to explain the installation and the problems below and would be grateful if anyone can suggest a solution for the problems I am facing:

    The configuration is the following:

-J' have a WLC 5508, which has been configured with 4 SSID, of which 2 are the Central authentication and commissioning.
-J' have a LWAP connected to the WLC in HREAP mode.
-WLC is configured as a DHCP server for clients that connect to the SSID "Guest." For the rest, I'm on external dhcp server.
-Only one scope of comments Interface is configured on the WLC.

    Problems:

    1. as far as I know, to WLC serve internal dhcp server, it is mandatory to have the proxy enabled, but the Clients connecting to 'Internet' SSID are

Unable to get an external dhcp server ip address, if the proxy dhcp is enabled on the WLC. If I disable the proxy, everything works fine.

2 DHCP does not release the ip addresses assigned to clients, even after that that they are connected.

    3. If a machine that has previously been connected to "Guest" SSID connects to the 'Internet' SSID, he asks the same ip address, he was charged by the WLC assigned under "Guest", it gets the tag with the Vlan configured on the management interface.

    The controller output *.

  • Kit - Cisco WLC 2125 of mounting

It is said in the product for the wlc 2125, there is a mounting kit rack "for flexible deployment.

Can someone tell me please in the right direction on the part number?

Maybe it's the same for the ASA5505 kit, as the boxes appears to be somewhat identical... ?

    -OCEAN

    Hi Ocean,

Yes, it's a good piece I guessing the ASA 5505 and WLC 2100 must use the same chassis.

  • Connecting WLC to 6509 Core... Connectivity issues

    Hello

I have four ports of a WLC 4404 connected to a 6509 through fiber optic cables. However, I'm not able to ping the WLC or see.

I have a few questions about this... First of all, if I want to TRAIN it is necessary that all ports are active and connected, correct?

Secondly, in the configuration of switch, to my knowledge, all the ports should be ports of junction, however, the customer has configured them as 'switchport trunk encapsulation isl' instead of "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q"... does it matter? I've never used the isl command then I really wonder if this is supported in the WLC?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

The controllers are not ISL. You will need to change the dot1q encap. Also, in order to support the LAG, the switchports will be setup in etherchannel

  • client DHCP issues with 4400 WLC

The ACS authentication works very well.

Clients cannot obtain an IP address from the DHCP server.

DHCP server is configured on a dynamic interface but is on a different subnet located in a branch office. The DHCP scope is running on a switch 4500 in the branch.

It is preferable to have DHCP works on internal WLC or near the WLC, rather than DHCP server at the remote location?

    TIA

Generally, you don't want to have a dhcp server on a remote site, but it should also work as wired users are able to get an IP address from the remote dhcp server. Preferred, as I have said, is to have a local dhcp server, but if this does not work for you, then by configuring the wlc to bbe a dhcp server is not a bad thought either. Some, like to have more control over the dhcp.

  • 1602i-e-k9 AP and WLC 5508 issue of Cisco

    Dear forum participants,

I experience a problem connection Access Point 1602i-e-k9 to WLC 5508

I upack and taken an AP on the network, it appears on the WLC (monitor > all APs), I can see it using the link details for several time.

Then he desappears, restart does not help.

I searched the forum for solutions, made AP reset via command "cli rommon-like" + button "MODE" and "reset" . After that, the same thing happens again: he appears on WLC and disappears.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Hi stephane,

The link below will answer your question...

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/controller/5.2/configuration/guide/c52ovrv.html#wp1069102

    It's...

Version 5.2 or a later version of the controller software support only mode Layer 3 CAPWAP, versions 5.0 and 5.1 of the controller software load only Layer 3 LWAPP mode and controller software versions prior to 5.0 supports 2 layer or Layer 3 LWAPP mode.

  • WLC 4400 issue

    Hello

I have a question: can WLC 4400 management bridges?

Can you show me a document where to mention this point?

    Thank you very much

WLC can handle that KNEES which is to be set up in Local mode or mode H-REAP.  Now if you do MESH bypass and Yes, any other type of basic bridging IOS then no.

  • WLC 5508 joined connected vs status

    Hello

What is the difference between the status of 'Joint' and 'Connected' AP on the controller of Cisco 5508 wireless in HA configuration?

I have two WLC 5508 in HA configuration. October 3 the controller switchovered with reason "Active controller failed" (attached file 1). I tried to understand why the controller has failed, but I did not find the reason.

Now, there are a lot of AP (not all) in the 'connected' State, not 'Supported in status' (attached file 2).

What is the meaning? and why in the details ' AP join stats ' (attachment 3 and 4) tha AP are well attached status? It's a licensing issue? I can solve this problem with a manual failover to main controller?

    Thank you for the help

You have a license for 250 AP on your primary controller and the secondary is a SKU or has at least 50 AP license to act like a HA.

As long as the main unit is available for the secondary unit (active) it will not perform the countdown. 90 days don't apply if the main unit is unavailable for more than 90 days in a row. If the secondary image (active) loses power and the principal is unavailable when it starts again, it will go into maintenance mode.

  • Adjustment of the regulatory field of wlc and APs

We have 5 APs is currently working on the regulatory field C. We add 5 APs more and a WLC who came in another regulatory area as directed by my boss, he said, it's H.

Will there be problems operating in 2 different areas?

What can I do to make each APs and controller in the same domain?

    Help, please.

    Hello

Refer to this document for more details on the regulatory areas

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/access-points/product_data_sheet0900aecd80537b6a.html

What country deploy you this AP, I hope it's in China (according to the doc, above). As long as the country code is set to WLC, you should be fine.

Will there be issues operating in 2 different domains?
If you configure two different country codes belong to two different regulatory domains (like Europe & America), then available channel & power limited to a lower common level. In your case, I don't think that you configure countries in conflict on your WLCs. HTH Rasika * Pls note all useful responses *.
  • Discovery of a new WLC 5508 AP

    Hi all

I have a WLC EXISTING with the APs 5508 located in static 192.168.1.0/24 with 7.5 Cisco IOS.

I intend to add a NEW 5508 WLC as a PDC with CISCO IOS 8.0 and 5508 WLC existing as a secondary controller.

How can I move all the AP for the new 5508 and what will happen during the update of the firmware.

    Kind regards

the wireless controller is now configured, but we have an issue with WLAN that is using radius server authentication. Should we enroll the NEW WLC to the Radius server?
Yes, you must add your WLC in your RADIUS server with the same credentials that you to define the RADIUS on your WLC server. Link below may provide some guidance on required WLC configs. http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless-mobility/WLAN-security/69730-EAP-auth-WLC.html HTH Rasika * Pls note all useful responses *.

    Brett!

I had a similar problem and ended up replacing one of the intermediate CA channels by one from the website of issuers (listed under public use-able key) which fixed the issue. I don't remember too much more details than that, but maybe play with who could help... Good luck!

  • Loading of a 3rd certificate on a WLC

I tried to follow the Cisco Document

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/4400-series-wireless-...

to load a third-party certificate on a WLC 5520 HA pair.

All goes well until I can

"Copy and paste the CSR information in any tool registration by CA.

After you have submitted the CSR to the third-party CA, the third-party certification authority sign the digital certificate and returns the string of certificates signed by e-mail.
In the case of chained certificates, you receive all of the CA certificate chain.
If you have only one intermediate certificate as in this example, you receive these three certificates from the certification authority:

    Root certificate.pem
    Intermediate certificate.PEM
    Device certificate.pem.

I have been using a server like this Microsoft 2012, and although I can submit the CSR OK, I'll be back is a single file, not three.

Clearly, I'm misunderstanding of information... someone at - it suggestions?

    Thank you

    Jim

With a certification authority internal as in your example of server 2012, most organizations do not practice the high security as public model CA do take their real root offline server to protect. They then issue intermediate certificates of certification authorities, delegated root and so you need a string.

With your CA, just get the root certificate just as he signed the certificate to your server directly.

See "Retrieve the CA certificate" in this Microsoft article:

  • General questions about Cluster 4400 WLC

I have inherited some 4402 wireless LAN controllers and I am in charge of making their ship-shape. So I have a few general knowledge wireless, I have not worked with before wireless controllers and have a few issues with that I was wondering if someone could help me:

    (1) how can I check that the primary and secondary controllers are configured for failover without actually performing a test? Both have AP failback enabled, but I don't know what else to check.

    (2) they are running code 3.2.116.21. If I want with 3.2 or plan to move up to 4.X?

Thanks to a bouquet. I'm slowly working my way through the docs and the answers to them would of course speed up things.

    Hi Johnny,.

I hope things are well with you! The steps required to set up relief AP are detailed in the attached doc. I would always try to provide a Maintenance window to test this point, rather than not knowing for sure :)

    Now, for your second question, it is likely that you will want to upgrade the WLC to a version more recent code. They have passed through 4.0.x, 4.1.x and newer 4.2.x. 3.2 is a fair way behind. Take a look at the WLC Release Notes;

    I hope this helps!
