WMI SecurityCenter Namespace

It is a Server R2 2012 being used as a server terminal server

I'm having a problem where there is no "SecurityCenter" namespace in WMI class.

When I try to access it from wbemtest I get error 0x8004100e for invalid namespace

When I look under wmimgmt-> properties-> Security and expand root there is no SecurityCenter
SFC did not turn anything

/verifyrepository and repository /salvage both say that the repository is consistent.

no idea why it isn't here or how I can get this added?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

    Hello bkao,

Unfortunately the use of WMI is not a supported method. However, you can use IPMI calls for information. In my view, that is how it is easy gale gathers information (using IPMI calls).

  • HP Compaq Pro 6305 SFF (Windows 7 32-bit) - WMI - SetBIOSSetting-> generic failure

When using WMI to configure the BIOS settings to boot the PC after the loss of power, I get generic failure when executing the measures on nine machines got us (HP Compaq Pro SFF 6305). This works very well on older machines (such as HP Compaq 6005 Pro SFF). On the two types of machines, I can run the following command:

    Get-WmiObject - computername [PCNAME] - space namespace root/hp/instrumentedbios - class hp_biosenumeration. where {$_.} Name - eq "after power loss"} | Format-Table name, value - autosize

So I get something like "Off, * on, previous state" (in this case PC should start automatically when the machine is new).

To change this setting, I'm using following command:

(Get-WmiObject - computername [PCNAME] - space namespace root/hp/instrumentedbios - hp_biossettingInterface of the class). SetBiosSetting ("after the loss of power ', 'On' ')

Works fine when HP 6005 [PCNAME], but fails (with generic failure [exact error below]), if I try to do on 6305 model.

Exception call 'SetBIOSSetting': 'generic failure '.
    At line: 1 char: 125
    + (Get-WmiObject-ComputerName - wksp0002a416 - namespace root/hp/instrumentedbios - hp_biossettingInterface of the class). SetBiosSetting< ('after="" power="">
    + CategoryInfo: NotSpecified: ( [], MethodInvocationException)
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId: WMIMethodException

In both cases who is not a 'read only' value (at least according to what turn WMI).

Any idea will be highly appreciated.

If anyone has the same problem, the reason was found.

SetBiosSetting method takes 3 arguments (Name, Value, password). Password argument was optional on old machines. Of the nine, it is mandatory, so valid command would be:

(Get-WmiObject - computername [PCNAME] - space namespace root/hp/instrumentedbios - hp_biossettingInterface of the class). SetBiosSetting ("after the loss of power ', 'On'," ")

  • WMI event provider does not not because of the WBEM_E_QUOTA_VIOLATION

We implement the WMI event providers.

During the test it in a system with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, I get the error "event with the query filter" SELECT * FROM __InstanceOperationEvent IN 1 WHERE TargetInstance ISA 'HP_IDPPowerSupply' ' could not be reactivated in namespace '//./ROOT/HPQ' due to the error 0x8004106c.» Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected. "in the windows event viewer that application connects.

However, in other systems with the same configuration everything works fine. I understand 0x8004106c it's a Quota violation error but his past does not in other systems.  So I guess that this is not a problem in our code. Can someone help me please on how to solve this problem?

Filter event with the query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA 'Win32_Processor' AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace '//./root/CIMV2' because of error 0 x 80041003.» Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is resolved.

I don't know how recently you have installed SP1 (you are now on SP2 - there is no SP3), but this error occurs with the installation of SP1.  Here is an article about the error message: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950375.

If you have recently installed SP1 (or maybe even if it wasn't recently) and the article above does not solve your problem, then please repost your question in the Windows Update Forum to: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/threads where the people who specialize in update issues will be more than happy to help you with your problem.

You can also try posting your question in the Discussion of the Office group at: http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.access&lang=en&cr=US where people who specialize in issues of access will be more than happy to help you with your problem (which may be limited to that demand and the error message may be one they know and can solve).

I hope this help and one or two of these groups are able to help you.

  • BIOS WMI question - how to disable a specific device in the boot list?

    Hello

I have question for WMI, how to disable a specific device in the boot list? I found "BootODD" "BootFDD" etc. in the documentation, but I have no idea how to use. And here my question.

    Documentation:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB3803HR0000R01_TOSHIBA_BIOS_WMI_Interface_Guide_-_13_Rev_1.1.PDF

Do you know that pdf is a guide for authors of vb script?
I don't think running a script against the BIOS is a good way to learn.

In any case, here is a link to download Microsoft Scriptomatic which is a very good place to learn [http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12028]

Also, try a search for examples of WMI scripts there necessarily one who does your job.

    Good luck

  • ThinkPad L460, cannot get the BIOS through WMI settings

We used the official instructions and VBscripts Lenovo to set up the BIOS on the laptop ThinkPad T440, T450, L440 and L450 via WMI. It worked well for a while now.

A few weeks back, we received our first batch of portable computers ThinkPad L460 (with 10 of Windows), and I went to check and update the scripts of BIOS. The first thing I tried was to get a list of all the BIOS settings, the use of the ListAll.vbs script (available from the link above) and then through the PowerShell commands listed in the PDF (skl_deploy_01.pdf).

On previous models of ThinkPad the ListAll.vbs script would return a long list of avilable BIOS settings (or "configuration items") as well as their current and possible values. On the L460 that it returns nothing, not even an error message:

    C:\temp\Script>cscript ListAll.vbs
Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host versjon 5.812
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. Med Enerett

    C:\temp\Script >

This isn't the same performance you'd get if you run the script not elevated command or on a non-Lenovo computer. In these cases, the output looks like this:

    C:\temp\Script>cscript ListAll.vbs
Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host versjon 5.812
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. Med Enerett

    current value =
    possible settings =.

    C:\temp\Script >

I found an old net on the forum describing a similar problem and suggesting it was caused by a third-party software or a customized image of Windows, but the issue is present on both W10 Pro portable computers L460 stocks provided with images, a clean install of W10 Pro version 1511 (ISO downloaded directly from Microsoft) and images of company W10 custom of my organization.

I tried upgrading the BIOS to the most recent available (1.13). That did not help.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be the cause? We received a pretty low amount of laptops L460 so far, so it's kind of feasible to configure all the parameters of the BIOS by hand, but I prefer not having to do once the laptops start to arrive in large numbers. It is both a waste of time and error compared to the configuration script.

Any ideas if it could be some sort of software or BIOS problem? Failure of the motherboard?

    Help, please.

    Hello Philip

As far as I know after Exchange of motherboard you should get a CD with new drivers for this motherboard because it is not the same as that of the former. With these new drivers, you should be able to configure the operating system properly.

Please try to contact the service and ask about it.
