• WMP library does not track length or bit rate for some files

  I use WMP11 on XP Pro.  I started to copy old vinyl to your computer using Sound Forge Audio Studio 9 and save the .wav files.  The problem is that SOME of the recorded files appear in the WMP library with a length of vacuum and "0 Kbps" as the bitrate (but they are still very well).  There seems to be no rhyme or reason for it - today, I copied an album with 10 titles and 7 & 8 track numbers show, but the other tracks do not show a length.  In addition to the missing length and bitrate 0, each of these files also seems to be displayed with an incorrect size in the library.

  When I view the file properties in Windows, they all look identical with a bit of RRSP 1411 Kbps (everything else is the same too).

  Wait - it gets even more strange!  I just sent this folder on the network to another computer as XP with WMP11.  The WMP library on this computer now displays the titles 1, 2 & 5 correctly, but all others are wrong (including two tracks that showed on the first computer.  Note that these files have not changed anyway I just make a copy to the network location.

  In general when I saw mistakes like that it is because the information in the file was written to the header file in a non-standard way. I would try using freeware application Saver WAV, which is generally used to retrieve audio from damaged disks, but also works well to correct errors in files audio .wav.

• WMP - library is partially damaged?

  I noticed in my library displayed in WMP 12, for a good part of my music, that it is listed under "Unknown".

  I still use iTunes to import my music in my music folder, and give them the same ID3 tags, and each file MP3 itself is in perfect condition in my library folder.

  But inside WMP, it sporadically tells me that different albums lack information and groups of hundreds of songs within an album group 'unknown '. I tried to repair the library several times, and it will always end up with a few albums missing illustrations, or group the different albums in the catigory 'unknown '.

  I find this curious because the files themselves are there in the computer and files, but WMP does not seem to be able to catigorize all. I ran the resolution of problems, which tells me that my library is corrupt. I delete the WMP library and then restore, only so he can still tell me that a lot of albums lack information.

  Is it a case where the application data must be deleted? Or should I try and unload/reload completely WMP?

  I believe that I have resolved, at least for my particular issue.

  For all the music in the "Unknown" category, I went back to iTunes, changed their 2.2 to 2.3 ID3 tags, and then they immediately appear, correctly, in WMP.

  Honestly, I don't know a thing about ID3 tags, so I always kept at 2.2 because it is the default value. Doing a quick search on Google, it seems that 2.3 is now the standard for music, while responses it seems.

• Library organizes not only optimized files

  I wasn't sure how the title of this question. I have the WD Black ^ 2 double disc in my laptop, and I keep my files on the stretch of 1 tera-bytes of disk. I've linked my libraries in folders on the storage disk; I have the folders on the storage drive optimized for the respective file types, but when I access files through libraries, they are not organised according to their optimization. I tried to solve the records of libraries, but there is no customization tab to select. Any ideas?

  Libraries are results simply defined by XML arranged in a way that looks like a folder, but since this is just a collection of objects of search results, all records will be taken on the style of the library and not the folder.  There is no way to change this, but you can change how the library organizes the content of these two locations:

• WMP library will not delete files, will not add files and in all songs albums are missing!

• PSE8 Organizer with PSE9 Editor

  I try to use PSE8 Organizer with the editor of PSE9 (don't like this that they see the folder in organizing PSE9).   I tried to do this in two ways: by setting the PSE9 Editor as an additional editor and replacing all files in the directory of Photoshop Elements 8.0 with the files in the directory of Photoshop Elements 9.

  I agree with your point of view on PSE 8 Organizer. I'd also rather for the same reason. My job is to have 2 monitors. I keep PSE8 Organizer on the left and editor-in-Chief of PSE9 on the right. Then I drag around. My catalog paths and parameters in the two organizers is the same. PSE9 edited items will appear in 8... Make sure your "watched folders" settings are defined, and then the same in the two organizers. Its a little awkward... but it works for... but me, I'm just a new type of PES.

  Check the path to build that you got all the libraries that are checked. You can remove if there are the same libs with different versions.

  I don't think you can change that setting via AppleScript, however once you have enabled then the XML file will be generated and updated every time that the library is updated.

  When I view the contents of my WMP11 library most of the entries on each album are in duplicate.  Can someone tell me please how to fix this single entry for each record.  Thank you.

  This is may be caused by a corrupted media library. To reset the library, follow the instructions for WMP 11 on XP at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary . Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too. Tim Baets

  To make WMP automatically look for the cover, make sure retrieve additional information from the Internet are checked in Tools - Options - Library (press Ctrl + M, if you don't see the Tools menu). The only add missing information option is recommended.

  Regarding duplicates, I suggest that you try to reset the media library. Note firstly reset the library will make you lose all play counts and ratings too. Then, follow these steps:

  -Restart the PC.
  -Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. If its status is started, double-click on the service and click on stop.
  -Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft in the search field and press ENTER. This folder opens in Windows Explorer.
  -In this file, rename the old Media Player like Media Player folder. If you do not see the folder, then it is probably hidden. Set Explorer to view the hidden files and folders and show protected system files.
  -Launch WMP, your library will have been reset and will be rebuilt. Check if the problem persists.
