Wolf 3D and SoD does not work on Windows7 32 bit but it does in Windows XP?

I have already downloaded versions freeware and shareware of best games in existence! (Wolf3D and Spear of Destiny, nested DOS, original version) In Windows XP, it worked well, all I get under Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit is a black window feared, blinking icon and the opportunity to do nothing but close the window!

I tried to run the application in compatibility mode with previous versions of Windows (including Windows 95!) But Windows 7 is so automatic that I can't change any settings.

Not much of a computer geek, but Microsoft seem to think that something before 2007 is not worth worrying about

Can anyone help?

Have set up the printer on Windows 7, 64-bit network.  The computer knows all the drivers installed.  When we hit print it does nothing, the printing doc is not in the queue, it disappears.  I have another computer on the network running Windows 7, 32 bit and it works fine.  None of the HP help stuff works.  I suggest that HP is an incompetent organization... cannot be anything else if they cannot sell a printer working or may be troubleshooting performed.

We have installed the disk drivers, download and with the help of Windows.  We have all uninstalled and tried again.  Always the same, does not work.

Except if it can be fixed, will be back this weekend.

BTW, my son is a COMPUTER expert and spent 4 hours working on it... HP has him $ 400 to $ 100 hourly billing rate.

Thanks for the link, but I called HP support and they have uploaded a revised version of the software and it works now.  The strange think is that it is not available (allegedly)... just strange to me that they sell something that does not work on a 2 year old computer.

If someone has trouble with the printer Envy 4502 and has a windows 7 (64-bit) operating system, call the support line and make them work by IT... don't waste your time.  Phone is 1-800-474-6836

  • Canon IP3500 printer works with Windows7 64 bit, but I can't make it work with my 32 bit Vista on a network computer.

This configuration has worked with the previous XP machine in a network with Vista machine. After that replaces the xp machine, which is directly connected to the (now 7 machine) XP vista machine sees the printer but will not work. I get an error message indicating that the print server software does not work. I tried to install the driver on the machine 7 under x 86 drivers, but it fails to install. So in conclusion works-printing printer with Windows7 machine, but do not print when you try to send a print job using the vista across the network machine.

    Hi roboref,

You will need to check if the file and printer sharing is enabled on the Windows 7 computer.

To turn on file and printer sharing

    (a) Open advanced sharing settings by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type network, click network and sharing Center, and then in the left pane, click change advanced sharing settings.

    (b) to expand the current network profile, click the chevron.

    (c) if printer sharing is off, under file sharing and printers, select Open file and printer sharing, and then click save changes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Hello Shirley,

    ·         Have you checked if the same keyboard and mouse work on other computers?

    ·         Are these PS/2 or USB devices?

    ·         You did changes to the computer before the show?

Method 1: Try to connect the keyboard and mouse even to another computer to see if they work.

Method 2: If they are PS/2 devices, then try to connect to USB devices to check for the issue or vice versa.

    Hello

You should try to remove the devices that they are marked with a yellow exclamation point. Start Notepad, and then install the latest drivers from the Toshiba site.

If the virus has destroyed an important system files that it s is no longer possible to install a driver and you need to reinstall Windows using the Toshiba recovery disc.

Did you create the Toshiba Recovery disk? You can do this with the Toshiba recovery disc creator, which is preinstalled on your laptop. Maybe you are able to do this at the moment.
In addition, you reinstall Windows using the recovery of HARD drive option. So go to the advanced boot menu and select Repair my computer. Some Windows files will be loaded and then you can choose the Toshiba Recovery option and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you can t create the recovery disk, you must order a new Toshiba directly:

Although of course, the CD-ROM drive worked during the upgrade.
I noticed that when I turn firstly on the laptop, the last two lines of the front entry from Windows 7 are the following.
PXE - E6i:Media Test Failure, Check Cable
PXE - MOF: Exit PXE Rom

    Can someone help me please?
    Best regards

    Besides what abdelhak says:

The message of PXE boot that you receive when you start your computer has nothing to do with your CD/DVD-Rom drive. Your computer uses a PXE boot method to attempt to load Windows from a location on your network. Since you do not have this configuration, it is safe to ignore it. If it slows down the startup time of your system, contact your manufacturer and ask them for instructions on how to "disable PXE Network Boot of the BIOS.

  • Zoo Tycoon 2 does not work on Vista 64 bit Ultimate

When I start the game it gives an error saying that I have 0 MB of RAM installed.
I also have a stub GPF.

I tried to turn on DEP for all programs and added ZT.exe in exceptional cases.
I edit "MSCONFIG" to show only 2 GB of ram.

The issue of ram 0 MB goes, but I still I get a stub of protection error when I start the game.

The thing is my old Zoo Tycoon 1 full collection works very well.
ZT1 was released around 2001-2002. Whereas ZT2 came out around 2006.
How can and more old-fashioned work fine but not the new version. I expect it to be the other way around.

Someone at the helpdesk said MS the ZT2 game does not work on Vista 64 bit and I should install a virtual machine so that it can work in 32-bit.
Is really the only way? Help, please.

    Hi orbit17,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers.

Try to turn on DEP for "Windows programs and services only" and then restart the computer and check with the game.

Here is a link to a KB which deals with the minimum requirements of the system and the compatibility problems with Zoo Tycoon 2: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/889368

Please make sure that your computer meets the requirements for the game and that your computer is compatible

Also how much RAM do you have installed on the computer?
Did you add extra RAM since the purchase of the computer?

You can also try to run the memory diagnostic tool by using the Windows Vista DVD.

    I hope this helps.

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    4. click on finish.

You can visit the link to the KB Article for reference:

Click the Start button, in the start search box, type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.

    2. in the Device Manager, on the left hand keyboard, click the PLUS (+) symbol.

    3. under the keyboard, right-click on the Microsoft Keyboard to display the menu drop down.
