Workers with different retention periods?

Hello

It is possible currently, for workers of installation with specific retention periods in all areas? Currently, a 5 LI cluster node, the requirements are immediately searchable archiving of 1 year and 90 days. This is due to a requirement of PCI 3.0 indicating newspapers from critical systems must be kept during this period, to a minimum. However, non-critical systems are not required to have their newspapers stored for this long and say, IDS, which pushes 100 + GB of logs per day (between 2 k 3 k per second).

Is it possible to have a single worker, who is or is not part of the cluster, have a distinct period of retention?

The answer is different between 2.0 and 2.5 LI. With version beta of 2.5 is out and the path will go forward, I will focus on that. Retention would not be put on a basis per worker because the events are automatically rebalanced across of nodes (once again talk LI 2.5 here). With RBAC and data sets, you can limit what data are presented to the user. The next step is to provide partitions of data, which would allow different retention periods for different ball games. It is not available today. Instead, you can:

  • Define a retention period for all newspapers, but then you need to keep all the logs for the required minimum retention
  • Have separate instances of LI for the different retention periods
  • A ball game two is all that you connect to your instance of LI and then configure event forwarding only the PCI to another instance of LI to manage retention periods different data

  • How to work the optimization backup and the backup retention period?

    I'm a little confused on how these 2 features will work together.

    Incase I enabled optimization backup and have retention backup value someday. Then I have this tablespace 'users', which is read-only. Please let me know if my understanding is correct.

    Date................ Action................................ Backup
    -----
    Monday... Full backup... 'users' saved
    Tuesday... Full backup... 'users' unsaved
    Wednesday... Delete Obselete... backup 'users' deleted
    Thursday... Restore database...?

    I was wondering if at Thursday I'm still able to restore the database if tablespace 'users' are deleted?

    Hello;

    Someday - the retention value, it is much too low. You may lose more than your example of demand. Set the highest. (Start with 2 or 3 and test, test, test)

    How backup works of optimization in what concerns the retention policy?

    RMAN only works with files during the retention period.

    For example, consider a backup optimization with a retention period of 5 days.

    RMAN will only compare the data file with backup within the period of 5 days games - even if the data file it as backup has not changed in this 5 days.

    So be very careful. Given your political retention is so low, I would not use optimization.

    I was wondering if at Thursday I'm still able to restore the database if tablespace 'users' are deleted? Very good luck, you will lose data.

    Test your period of detention inside and outside before look you at optimization.

  • ASM diskgroup with different disc size

    Hello

    DB: 10.2.0.4
    Operating system: AIX 5.3 64-bit L

    I have installation on 10g RAC ASM with node 2. It has the only Eve on ASM.

    Total DB size is 250 GB.
    Total size of FRA is 700 GB.

    My FRA diskgroup to archivelog (also holds multiplex controlfile) each size of 50 GB drive. Even if I set the retention period for 1 day, backup to disk, rman getting failed, due to space issues. So I manually delete obsolete data report and rerun backup.

    I want to add the workspace to FRA diskgroup regarding adding disks to FRA diskgroup. But, I have 100 GB drives available , it's not the same waist size of current existing FRA disc (50 GB).

    Here's my question

    (1) that I can Add the size different to the same diskgroup disc ?. If I add, are there performance problems?
    My all data files are out of FRA diskgroup and there are someother diskgroup.

    (2) if FRA diskgroup 50 GB and 100 GB of disks, and then how the archivelog and backup data will be erased?
    Will the data stored up to 50 GB in all disks in FRA, even * 100 GB * disc is?.

    (3) while doing recovery with different size of disk at diskgroup, what kind of problems can I face in performance wise?

    (4) can I remove any diskgroup 50 GB disks and add the 100 GB drive, so that I can increase the size of the disk in the same diskgroup?. I'll remove it and add at the same time.

    (5) add disks redundant external diskgroup , I'm ok with the following query?

    ALTER DISKGROUP FRA add DRIVE ' </dev/rhdsk1 >', </dev/rhdsk2 > ', </dev/rhdsk3 > ';

    Please help me on my doubts above.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Therese

    Hi Sunand,

    (1) can I add different diskgroup disc even size?. If I add, are there performance problems?
    My all data files are out of FRA diskgroup and there are someother diskgroup.

    A minimum of four (Oracle ASM disks) LUNS of equal size and performance is recommended for each disk group

    (2) if FRA diskgroup 50 GB and 100 GB of disks, and then how the archivelog and backup data will be erased?
    Data are saved up to 50 GB in all disks of FRA, same 100 GB drive is it?

    Oracle ASM data distribution policy is based on the ability. Ensure that the Oracle ASM disks in a disk group have the same ability to maintain balance.

    (3) while doing recovery with different size of disk at diskgroup, what kind of problems can I face in performance wise?

    Ensure that all Oracle ASM disks in a disk group have similar performance characteristics and the availability of storage. In configurations of storage with dimmers of mixed speed, for example, 10 K and 15 K rpm, i/o performance is limited by the slow speed control.

    (4) can I remove any diskgroup 50 GB disks and add the 100 GB drive, so that I can increase the size of the disk in the same diskgroup?. I'll remove it and add at the same time.

    Yes. First, you add the 100 GB drive and then remove the drives from 50 GB.

    (5) to add disks to external redundancy diskgroup, I'm ok with the following query?
    ALTER DISKGROUP FRA ADD DRIVE ",", ";

    Redundancy is controlled by the diskgroup. Then simply add the disks.

    e.g ALTER DISKGROUP FRA ADD DISK '/dev/rhdsk1', '/dev/rhdsk2', '/dev/rhdsk3';

    My apologies for the late reply.  The journal of the SACL allows to store up to 100 000 events before flipping and overwrite older events.   There is no way to change this value.

    (1) is it possible to know which window of recovery has been used for any command in the rman backup or query view RC_ or local database (control file information)?

    backup retention policy

    A policy defined by the user to determine how long the backups and archived logs must be kept for the media recovery. You can define a retention policy in terms of redundancy backup or a recovery window.

    RMAN keeps backups of data files that are required to meet the current retention policy, and all logs archived redo necessary to a complete recovery of data files.

    Recovery window

    A recovery window is a type of RMAN backup retention policy, in which the ADMINISTRATOR specifies a period of time and RMAN ensures the retention of backups and Archives redo logs required for recovery to point-in-time at any time during the recovery window.

    The interval always ends at the present time and is extended in time for the number of days specified by the user. For example, if the retention policy is set for a window of recovery of seven days and the current time is 11:00 Tuesday

    RMAN maintains the necessary backups to recover point-in-time at 11:00 the previous Tuesday.

    Does anyone know how to do this? I don't really want to be specified as baselines

    Hi Jim

    You can create the basis for this particular period and maintain baseline indefinitely. Until the base line is deleted with CASCADE-online set to TRUE, the snapshots will be kept.

    Begin
      dbms_workload_repository.create_baseline (start_snap_id => 2345, end_snap_id   => 2467,baseline_name => 'retain_forever_baseline');

    After you are finished, you can remove the base line.

    Exec dbms_workload_repository.drop_baseline (baseline_name-online 'retain_forever_baseline', cascade-online true);

    If you want to remove the base line BUT always keep snapshots, you can use cascade-online fake

  • Photos with different apple id: s

    Any way to sort photos taken with various apple id: s in photos for mac? I have three different iPhones that has been moved from parents to children. Is there anyway to sort images with different apple id: s? I heard that there is way to sort different (smart folder) with the model of phone, but this is not enough cause phones were used earlier by the parents. And I want to use only a single library of pictures, so the different IDs: s for mac is not the solution. It would be nice to get this functionality.

    You can use smart albums with a combination of constraints: the model of the iPhone and the date rank when the iPhone has been used by a person in particular. If the iPhone has been in use you make in the years 2012 and 2013 creates a smart album that will check for the ipHone and the date range.  Then announces a keyword "Photo by Me" of all the photos in this album. Do the same for the other ranges of iPhones and date and assign the photographer as a key word.

    If you keep marking new imports with a keyword of photographer then you can create smart albums for every photographer.

  • HP12C Platinum: How to calculate the EMI with a grace period?

    I'm figuring the tranche of loan compared to a loan with a grace period.  This can be done easily using MS Excel, but I need to do the calculation using my HP12CP.

    Details of the loan:

    Main: 1 million

    Interest rates. : 12% p.a.

    Tenor: 36 months

    Period: 3 months

    Payment frequency: monthly

    Loan annuity calculated with Excel: Q1 - zero; 4th in the 36th month: 36 810 /-per month

    Hello MilanH

    Perhaps this allows, if you train in two steps:

    1)

    n = 3 grace period

    IR/a=12%

    PV = 1 million

    FMT = 0.00

    FV =-1030301.00 (-because you have to pay it back)

    2)

    n = 33

    IR/a = 12%

    PV = 1030301.00

    VF = 0.00

    FMT = 36810.01 (-because you have to pay)

    I have no 12 c, but if this kind of loan is not built in, you can manage this way.

    The examples, for example aoex5, show a single timer (method outTimerHelper::loadUI), but the example shows the DMA loaded with same size of vector data.

    There is a comment in the outTimerHelper:call rogramUpdateCount, which implies that memory sizes different pad per channel can be used.

    (the comment is: switching between the sizes of the various buffers is not used)

    Nobody knows what should be the format the DMA buffer for data from multiple channels with different frequencies?

    For example, we want a0 with a sinusoid at 1 kHz and a1 with a sine wave of 1.5 Khz.  What looks like the DMA buffer?

    With the same frequency for each channel, the data are interleaved, for example (ao0 #0, ao1 #0; ao0 ao1 #1, #1,...), but when the frequencies for each channel is different, what the stamp looks like?

    Hello Kenstern,

    Data are always intertwined since each card has only a single timing for each subsystem engine.

    To AO, you must specify the number of samples that will be released to the AO. You also specify the number of channels. Because he didn't is that a single engine timing for AO, each AO will be channel will be updated at the same time to update clock tick. Data will be interlaced exactly as shown in the example because each channel AO needs output at each tick of the clock to update. The data itself can change depending on the frequency you want to copy.

    In your example, you must come with an update rate that works for the two waveforms (sine waves of 1 and 1.5 KHz). To get a good representation of a sine wave, you need to update more than 10 x faster than your fastest frequency... I would recommend x 100 if possible.

    Update frequency: 150 KHz

    Channels: 2

    Then create you stamps that include complete cycles of each wave you want to produce based on the frequency of update. These buffers must also be of the same size.

    Buffer 1: Contains data for the sine wave of 1 KHz, 300 points 2 cycles of sine wave

    Buffer 2: Contains data for the sine wave of 1.5 KHz, 300 points, 3 cycles of sine wave

    You can Interleave them as before. When the data are performed through the ADC, they are out different sine waves, even if the AO channels are updated at the same speed.
