Workflow Mailer in R12

Hi all
I correctly configured workflow mailer in my test environment using the gmail smtp server. But I have some doubts on the configuration I am very new to workflow mailer Setup. In fact, I had configured sendmail on linux and I could send emails using the mailx command. After that, I added server (smtp.gmail.com) smtp for the navigation below in oracle applications, but I have no mail.

OAM-> workflow-> Notification mailer-> edit-> Servername (under smtp)

According to the description, it is the host name of the computer used to send notifications by e-mail (including the complete domain name). After that, I just tried to give Server smtp localhost. This time he started work. All I want to know is, what is the value that we must give to servername?

This is the value of smtp server and smtp.gmail.com why does not work?
How does the localhost? what it means?

Details: R12.1 platform environment: OEL4.7

Please give your valuable answers.

Thank you
Jvel.

All I want to know is, what is the value that we must give to servername?

Server running the SMTP services, there must be concomitant Manager level.

This is the value of smtp server and smtp.gmail.com why does not work?

No, SMTP is the protocol used primarily for sending mails (outbound), and services must be started on the server where your local host sleeps without knowing where your concurrent Manager is lying.

How does the localhost? what it means?

Localhost I think is your aherent category manager (CM) simultaneous. Ask your unix administrator to stop the SMTP services on CM layer, so you will not be able to receive mail.

Thank you
JD

I have toyed with the idea of a grep / pattern match (for example, error, no etc.) against the mailer log file (even if the file name of course is not a fixed name when it comes to the sender, but at least the prefix is!)

  • After upgrade to Java 7 for R12.1.3 EBS, workflow mailer will remain stable

I've updated our EBS to use Java 7.67 recently Java 6.35.  Immediately when you start the sender of workflow, I see errors in the log mailer as follows:

Problem get the HTML of the content oracle.apps.fnd.wf.common.HTTPClientException: impossible to call the HTTPClient.HTTPConnection.Get method caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.validatorException: building way PKIX failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: could not find the path of valid certification for target asked.

I made the update of Java 7 on 2 systems development with no problem and works of mailer very well.  The same process was followed on the production and I'm not having other problems with Java 7 I know.

Our envelope is not using IMAP and does not use SSL for email traffic, so I do not understand why an SSL error is thrown in this case.  I've implemented all web server certificates correctly in the file cacerts JDK on the middle layer of web services.  The certificates are also valid in the oracle portfolio for $INST_TOP/certs/Apache and $INST_TOP/certs/opmn Web services mid range.  I have the same ORACLE Wallet in the directory ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/wallet $ on the base of data/simultaneous Manager layer.

The same portfolios Oracle either present in $INST_TOP/certs/Apache and $INST_TOP/certs/opmn to the base data/simultaneous Manager layer.  We have SSL running before you implement Java 7 and portfolios were not necessary in those places.

I always try to compare the contents of a keystore cacerts JDK (development) operation against production JDK cacerts keystore for the database layer.

I opened a SR with Oracle, but they don't react.  So, I hope someone here has met the same problem.

    Thanks in advance,

    Don

I have determined the cause of the failure.  I had to copy the JDK keystore cacerts on the server of CCMS/database layer and turn concurrent managers.  It was something I had considered doing before the original thread was posted here.  But I couldn't reconcile the fact that I don't have to make it in our staging environment for the mailer.  Also the fact that he was not on a SSL handshake when SSL is not applied in our mailer configuration.

I used a self-signed certificates in our staging environment and I can only assume that it worked because the default cacerts JDK files have what they need to work properly with self-signed certificates.  Once the JDK keystore was in place and given mailer running stopped PKIX error path of construction.  I saw a connection refused message that disappeared when concurrent managers have been restarted.

This is a proper resolution to the issue.  Thanks Hussein for his comments.

in Journal of workflow, I found.

    Hello

Please see (Note: 753845.1 - how to perform a Test of Telnet SMTP useful to troubleshoot problems of Java Mailer), the same error is reported in this doc.

  • Workflow Mailer stops to pick up notifications after change of IP address

We changed the IP address of our domain controllers, this afternoon. Shortly after that we did this, I noticed that notifications in the WF_NOTIFICATIONS table was not transformed.

FND_SVC_COMPONENTS showed that the sender was running, and I could Telnet on the Exchange Server (our mail server) in the PRODuction/admin/simultaneous processing layer.

OAM showed the mailer was running and I was able to stop and start the mailer since the GUI of the OAM.

Anyone has any ideas as to if a rebound in Application level would help with us with this?

    Hello

What is the version of the application?

Run the diagnostic test and verify that it contains all the details about the error.

  • I want to set the instance name in the subject line of Workflow mailer

Hi people, I'm sure this has been done several times before. Do I have to use Workflow Designer (I it never used), or templates can be created manually? Someone at - it do it manually before? I use EBS 12.1.1

    Thank you very much

    -Adam

    Hi Adam,.

I think that there are some documents in the application developer (sorry not the time to go and check) - you want to search for Workflow Standard Message templates (System: Mailer).

Otherwise, you can crush just (this is change) standard message models - start workflow on the desktop, open the workflow of data-generating "system: Mailer" and then you have access to the default message templates.

PS the "usual" way to make a distinction between the circles is via the "send to" name of user/email address - which is a configuration item on the workflow notification mailer configuration.

    Kind regards
    Gareth

  • Workflow Mailer - 11.5.10.2 CU2 0

Since around 07:30 on December 8, 2008 (this morning), envelope notification workflow stopped sending messages to all users via Microsoft Outlook. (Now), there are approximately 756 notifications in a status of 'Mail' in the WF_NOTIFICATIONS table.

The notification Mailer is on the rise - connections to the exchange server have been verified - de./WFJavaMailerSetup115.sh have been run - tests and entries in the log file of mailer (who have stopped this morning – 08:19 was the last entry in the log mailer) are provided below...

Has anyone seen this behaviour before - all (all notification emails) were fine processing up to this morning - all service components on the configuration of the Workflow Manager page are running.

We run on HP - UX PA-RISC (64-bit). My SR Oracle analyst seems to have pinned this to the fact that we are on HP - UX.

    All tips/hints will be appreciated.

I think the problem is with the value 'nofiles (descriptors) 2048. You will very probably at least double or triple this value (even assign unlimited), and then restart the server for the new setting to take effect. If you are unable to bounce the server anytime soon, I suggest that you bounce the WFMailer (using OAM), but I don't think it would help in this case.
