• Adding a folder to a Workflow problems

  I'm very new to vCenter Orchestrator and I completed the installation, 4 days ago.  My problem is functions are greyed out in Orchestrator.  For ex.  If I want to add a new folder for a workflow to add a folder is grayed out.  If I need to add a new workflow, this feature is grayed out.  I use on behalf of connection is part of the group admin vCO and I tried the granting of access rights to the group admin vCO in the workflow section.  However, all I seem to do to correct the problem does not work.  Any information anyone can provide to correct this problem would be greatly appreciated.  Here is a screenshot of what I see when trying to add a folder.

  

  You must use a Standard license vCenter - what do you evidence indicates that you:

  • Have an expired license
  • Have a less than Standard vCenter license
  • Have insufficient rights - if Member of the group specified for vCO Admins, then this ball - that's what has to be one of the first two...

• Timer standby and resumption of the workflow problem.

  Has anyone ran this question before, and if so, how do solve you?

  I have a fairly simple workflow that I use in my Sleep function in my workflow:

  

  'Set date' just creates a date object that is waiting specified seconds time in the future, then called "Pending timer" by that date.

  It seems to work great, workflows suspended as they should, reducing the load on the server so that its waiting for the next thing to do.

  However, if the server is restarted and workflows resume later never seems to trigger the "timer on hold". I guess it's because while he has to wait for is in fact in the past.

  Anyone know of a way to solve this problem or a better way of suspending the workflow without using System.sleep ()?

  OK, so it seems that this is a problem with 5.1.0 build 2725. I don't know how it was fixed, but it works in 5.5.1 build 1617127.

  The question is that "Hold timer" does not throw an exception if the date he expects in the past in 5.5.1 it does.

  I'm re-examining InCopy as a tool for our quarterly publications of color full page both 24 and the problem I am currently facing the design team call for the size of the files would be a problem for us to use the workflow remotely - how guys handle large files by e-mail? Any tips or advice?

  If you use a remote workflow... designers send editors off-site packages assignment InCopy (ICAPs)... then they need create assignments to pack them for the remote InCopy user. There is no need to split a provision into smaller files or anything like that.  An assignment is a subset of the INDD file. several assignments - each encompassing different pages or sections - are created from the same INDD file.

  When the designer creates the assignment, ask them to turn off "include the original images in packages." that should reduce the size of the file.

  Or - as Bob said - you can avoid any distance/assignment workflow package rigamarole together keeping just the file in a project folder in the Dropbox folder on the local hard drive of the designer and to share the project with the publishers folder. In this workflow, the editors open the INDD file on their local computer and discover stories, as if they were open from a file on a network server.

• RAW image workflow problem

  I met a strange behavior on the Minolta RAW image processing. (This strange behavior has occurred for the first time in the last series of images. I have used this workflow at least a year.)

  Minolta RAW is not recognized by iPhoto so I used Adobe DNG Converter to produce DNG files.

  The original RAW files typically were 12.1 MB on the disk. DNG files vary in size, but were usually between 7 and 9 MB, but strangely, the dimensions are given in 256 x 192.

  When they are imported into iPhoto, the definition is, as you'd expect, is not good.

  If I edit a DNG file or iPhoto using Photoshop, then save them on the desktop as the jpeg, the result is a file which is usually 5 MB in size, but the dimensions are 3264 x 2448. This file can be re-imported into iPhoto and the results are perfect.

  Of this, I infer that the camera records the data correctly and that it is stored in the file, but what went wrong during the conversion from RAW to DNG?

  I can't reproduce the problem, because I work with Windows. This seems wrong; I hate it, when the software is being too intelligent and prevents from functioning correctly. Adobe also makes this rubbish, for example keeping the ACR adjustment settings in a database.

  I'm sorry but I can't contribute to the solution. I thought that the problem is in the content of the DNG file, but it seems to be in the records of the IPhoto. I did a search and found that when you import photos into IPhoto, it opens each image and creates several smaller of the versions. However, I am sure you know much more about what I am doing (as it is as I know about this).

  Anyway, have a good year and a best photo management system.

• Emergency assistance: workflow problem

  I'm working on EAI workflows. I use Siebel Tools Simulator and also the Business Service Simulator to test my workflow. However, I am facing some problems.
  
  I am not able to simulate my new workflow. However, all older workflows work properly. Here are the steps I take to simulate workflows:
  
  1. create a workflow in Siebel tools and click on the publish/enable button. Check if its status changed to finished.
  2. open the Client Web of Siebel > site map > Admin-Business Service > Simulator.
  3. process name 'Workflow Process Manager' and the name of the method "RunProcess".
  4. in the input Arguments: name "ProcessName" property and value of the property "NAME of the workflow.
  5. click on the run button.
  
  At this point, I get error like:

  Siebel
  ---------------------------
  Cannot execute workflow process definition "Test EAI Workflow 4". (SBL-RPR-00158)
  
  ---------------------------
  Ok
  ---------------------------
  
  However, the older workflow works very well with the same approach. I am able to simulate. Even I copied the existing workflows (that I'm capable of simulating) but they do not work either. :(

  Hello

  You must enable the new workflows that you created. If you want to test the workflow in thin client and then manually import the workflow in the active workflow process and try to simulate.

  This error occurs if the workflow is not 'ACTIVE' in the process of active workflow under Administration - business processes.

• Run workflow problem log view

  Someone at - he noticed this? I noticed on vCO 5.5, only the last successful workflow log run is displayed correctly. If you click previous workflow successfully performed, display would not change. Workflow failed has no questions to display the correct logs.  The only way to properly display these logs is to click events, go to another stream of work performed, then go back to the previous workflow execution, click diagram, and then opens a session. There are some cases I want to be able to watch the successful previous workflow logs run like copying information.

  Hello and welcome to vCO! The behavior you describe is expected and often discussed. The logs tab is for information within workflow generated when using System.log ("of the text here"); The information is available in the logs tab ONLY when you run the workflow with the client of the free vCO. When you close the client, and then open it to the top of the newspapers of all executions of workflow tab is empty. This information also get into the /app-server/server/vmo/log/server.log of your vCO server file. It is the method of non-persistent logging.

  For continuing registration, we use Server.log ("of the text here"); and that appears on the tab 'Events' of the execution of your workflow - even when closed and reopened

• inDesign CS5 and CS6 inCopy workflow problem

  I looked further discussions and did not answer the question to our problem.

  We are a small publishing company and we have the license for about 7 inDesign CS5 best we bought a year ago.  We have contracts with external publishers to change content for us using inCopy.  Last year, there is no problem.  But any new Editor under contract we sign today, which in turn buys inCopy, we have problems with our talk with one of the other files.  All new editors under contract are able to purchase inCopy CS6.  This leaves us with the problem of having to inDesign CS5 on about 7 or so of our used machines and 6-8 CS 5.5 InCopy on outside contracted publishers and another 3-4 editors under contracts with inCopy CS6.  When publishers with inCopy CS6 try to open our InDesign CS5 files, either they will not open at all, or they will open, the editor working on the project for a while, their program crashes and they aren't able to recover (reopening) the files again.  Which translates into lost hours at work.

  Has anyone encountered this problem?  Is there a work around or a quick fix.  We hate having to upgrade to CS6 for all our copies in InDesign home and then ask our external publishers have inCopy cs5.5 upgrade to CS6.

  If this is the case, when CS7 comes out and we are hiring more outside editors, we must continually go through the process of upgrading again?  It is too expensive to use and our existing contract publishers.

  All thoughts are a help would be appreciated.

  It is one of the error messages from a Publisher under external contract using inCopy CS6.  The file crashed after several hours of work, when the Publisher went to reopen the case, they have received this error.  Which seems to be a generic error code that does not tell us anything.

  

  Hello Rufus,

  Unfortunately the different versions of InDesign and InCopy work well with each other. More recent versions of the program should be able to open to older files, but they can't save backward. I don't know what the cause of errors with newer versions of InCopy however.

  You are able to open the InCopy CS6 files on your computers?

• Workflow problem - how to stop Illustrator by selecting the top layer after each record?

  One of the great things about diapers is the ability to have items in a locked layer above the layer you are using. However, when Illustrator finishes savings, he selects the layer and if the layer that is locked and then you travel constantly in the layers palette to select the layer that you worked prior to backup - I need to that 50 - 100 times per hour.

• Problem with Alpha channel on AfterEffects composition

  I'm editing a short film called 'Lost In Time' and one of the sequences is supposed to reflect a 1920s silent film, but Adobe AfterEffect records the images as color, even if on Premiere Pro, it was published in black and white.

  I tried to turn off the alpha channel, but it won't let me click on 'interpret the film' in the file menu of the sequence on the composition and I can't edit each clip manually in black and white because everything is in a sequence. Assembly of the entire sequence in black and white is not an option either because the 70s Film Noir scenes are also in the same room and are supposed to be full color. So how do AfterEffects to recognize the 20 silent film as in black and white?

  You have two choices. Shoot the film in black and white in After Effects and add film damage or restores the section black and white Prime Minister then apply film and AE damage. Almost all the effects, you first add will not come in AE using dynamic links, because they are not compatible. The only thing that you can do about it, it is to make your footage or all the effects work in AE.

  It is a workflow problem not a bug.

• solve bugs Pages 5.6.2 or permanently using 4.3

  I seem to get weird apostraphe and other data on my pages documents and RELY ON this WORK to get the work done. for over a year it has been a problem on my machines running the mavericks, and then yosemite where I MANUALLY open all my documents pages by selecting 4.3 which seems to show the documents very well.

  I tried a number of different ways to get my computers to open these documents ALWAYS WITH 4.3, but nothing seemed to happen. so I'm having constantly to close documents and reopen in 4.3.

  then there's a weird extra aggravation where, if I want to reproduce a pages document, I am prompted to update the document 4.3 for some reason any?

  at one point, I got a very detailed answer to one person, but to be honest, my brain locked up when someone told me there was another problem with documents pages get damaged when stored on dropbox and I just let fall the whole issue because I was too terrified imagine I've damaged data in dropbox.

  All documents Pages, whether they are those created by the Pages ' 09 v4.3 or Pages v5.6.2, store application in the document as application: Pages.app. Cannot set the application of the opening in the Finder Get Info Panel to always be the Pages ' 09 v4.3, because Pages v5.6.2, which is located in Applications will dominate.   I just moved to the United Kingdom and bought a computer here. Obviously, the ti came with a UK keyboard. But I often need to write in Portuguese and need to use accents and other characters for which there is no letters on the keyboard.

  I know that I can always use the character map to copy and paste these characters, but it is very inconvenient to write a large text in this way, not to mention the counter productive because it completely breaks the workflow.

  I know that I can also install files and use the keyboard as Oortuguese (Brazilian ABNT or ABNTII) but then I meet similar workflow problems given that the keys will not match what they actually type and will take time to get adjusted so be it.

  Is it possible to do just the keyboard write in a foreign language as well and still write in English and Portuguese, without problems?

  I had a similar problem - computer bought in England but used mainly in Switzerland. I put the keyboard to be "French of Switzerland" that gives me access to diacritics, I need to write in French and in German (and because I learned to touch type here). To put the keyboard to another language go to control panel and choose keyboard. The process is a bit messy, but it does not work OK. Everything else remains in English (interface OS, menus and so on).

  The problem of course with this method is that what you see on the keyboard does not match what you see on the screen (the keyboard Switzerland is not too bad, about 90% of the keys are the same as a UK keyboard). If you touch type, which is not a real problem. If this is a problem, then you can consider using a separate Portuguese external keyboard. I've also seen people put little stickers on keys (if they tend to fade pretty quickly!)

• Why Lightroom loses all my catalogs?

  This is my third time I lost all my catalogs in lightroom. Where to find them, they must finally have a tech relocate. Anyone has a solution, so I call and go through the same old routine? I don't like to call because most of the time I can't understand what they're trying to say or they are not what I'm trying to tell them. Like when I tell them that catalogs have disappeared, they ask me how it is possible? I'm not the expert here, they are - and it becomes very frustrating.

  You have a workflow problem.

  Lightroom is open to first search for the catalog it last. If that "moves" you will receive a message saying that the catalog was not found and Lightroom suggest open a new.

  If the catalog is on an external drive, it is likely that Windows assigned a different drive letter. It happens all the time, especially when you plug in different players in different orders each time.

  In this case, find your drive and open the catalog to the new location. Only get around this is to give the reader a drive letter high, as windows allocates those from the bottom to the top of the page automatically. Windows change drive letter, when some other player took the previously allocated.

  I have trouble with this application at home and at work.  Photoshop is my favorite app.  I'm clutzing around here to get used to it

  I just tried to use the Contact sheet and application photoshop stopped.

  I tried to print a document at home and it crashed.

  I know that Adobe has a version of photoshop that has bugs worked out of it.  I went through this upteen times now and I'm getting old and bad mood to put up with more of these chananagins.  Can we all please have the possibility of using an application for the monthly fee for an application thas is known at work and used to cause our business workflow problems.     ?

• Bridge is very slow on iMac with El Capitan, using 75% less than the 32 GB of RAM.

  I have a new iMac 27 inch Retina 5 K (end of 2015) 3.2 GHz with 32 GB of RAM and bridge is now used in the region of 20-25 GB + of it on a regular basis. My previous iMac 24 inch (end of 2009), with 'only' 8 GB of RAM, ran faster and the RAM usage was less than 45%. While Bridge works very slowly - much slower than my old iMac - and I can't work out why.

  I compacted and emptied the cache, reduced the number of images in each folder and reduced the size of the preview, but nothing seems to make any difference. I forgot something or are my expectations too high? The bridge is my main tool with Camera RAW/Photoshop before importing all the files in Lightroom and speed reduction is initially serious workflow problems.

  Someone a suggestions please?
