• Problem adding a folder of images

  Hi, I have been a user of Lightroom 5 for a while now and everything was absolutely perfect, but I now have a problem adding a folder to put the images in LR.  I checked using "Finder" that the images are still there on my external hard drive, which fortunately they are, but when I navigate to that folder in the section "Add files" it shows no images at all, and the 'Import' button is grayed.  There is a new catalog, I created for 2015 customers otherwise the only other change is that I have been preselected a few images using photomechanical moved selected files into a new folder created by me.  Otherwise I have not changed anything else from my usual game to the top.  As a validation test, I tried adding several different sets of RAWS in different folders (which I have previously worked on in other catalogs so I know they were fine before), but I'm having the same problem.  Please can anyone help shed light on what clearly is a bit a killer of productivity right now!  Thank you very much

  DJ - it's a Canon 5 d Mk III, using Lightroom 5.7, and the images are all of the FIRST.  All images have been imported from the map in a folder on my external hard drive, before I used photomechanical to them for review.

  I am pleased to say that the problem is now solved.  I found another thread in forum with many people have exactly the same problem and with various corrections that have worked for them but not for me.  Then I found one that worked for many people - just expand the Destination panel and hey presto - all images appeared.  How weird randomly - I do not know how it was fixed, but there, so now I'm still productive.

• When I add a bookmark, I get hundreds of multiple entries for the same bookmark in the recently added bookmarks folder and the bookmark tab. Difficulty?

  Adding a results of bookmark in 100's of entries for this bookmark on the Bookmarks tab and in the recently added bookmarks folder. The only way to remove them is to click and delete each separate entry? Any idea what is happening or how to fix it? Thank you.

  Find the type of file in the Firefox -> Options -> Applications Panel, open its menu drop-down and select 'ask '. To reset all the actions of download, delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in your Firefox profile folder (or rename the mimeTypes.rdf X if you want to save as a backup). The file will be regenerated with all types of files, restore the default actions.

  According to the description, I understand that you are not able to install DirectX and get error message: internal system error has occurred please see DXError.log and DirectX.log in your windows folder to determine the problem

• Added toolbar folder icon problem when locking taskbar

  I like the feature to allow you to create a toolbar on the toolbar effectively the content of the folder shortcut to different places.  Not sure if this is a new feature of 7, but I just found and take advantage.

  I have two, and I've resized the so that only the text of the toolbar and ">" appear.

  The problem I have, is that when I chose to lock the taskbar, everything is resized, and I get two full or partial folder icons that come into view.  These icons represent the child folder under the folder main toolbar choice.

  As an example, I have a folder called "Source Files" I created the toolbar, so it reads Source files > in my taskbar.  When I lock the taskbar, then I get a partial folder icon to the right of ">" that links to the first folder in the Source files directory.

  Not the end of the world, but sticky.

  Does anyone have a suggested fix?  Something in the registry, perhaps?

  Wow, I'm not, but I could have found the answer to this annoying bug.  It worked for me and I was able to reproduce several times.

  my setup: I have my toolbars crumpled to the left, right next to my Start button.
  with the taskbar unlocked, I moved my whole bar vertically on the left side of my screen, so that my departure the button appears in the upper left corner of my screen and my toolbars align underneath.
  I noticed when I did that I could see partial icons when my taskbar has been unlocked (which wasn't the case when my bar was horizontal at the bottom of my screen).
  I have re-scrunched up all my icons while my bar is vertical, moved my bar together down again once (horizontal) and closed the taskbar.  not more partial icons (at least for me)!

• Problem when adding a folder of additional plugins via the preferences

  When I add an additional plugin using the plugins preferences in CS6 plugin appears in cs6 but my active tools will vibrate or vibrate around when I try to use them. If I uncheck preferences-plugins-additoonal plugins and restart the pulsation of the tools constantly.

  Anyone else run into this. No way to stop the exciting tools?

  You point the preference of plugins for plugins CS6 or a previous version of Photoshop plugins folder?

  If so, turn off this preference - you are doing more harm than good.

  If you are just pointing to a folder with third-party plugins, then most likely these plugins have some bugs that are originally "pulsed" tools.

• Adding library folder returns an error ""this network location cannot be included because it is not indexed.

  I'm trying to share my MUSIC on my Windows Home Server (WHS) folder in my music library.  Here's how my MUSIC folder is organized:

  MUSIC
  -> Songs1
  -> Songs2
  -> Songs3
  -> Chansons4
  -> Chansons5

  Quite simply structure, so thought that this should not be a problem. If I add the entire folder to the library only 1/3 of my songs are listed. In trying to understand what is happening, I found that only 2 to 5 subfolders under the MUSIC are included (songs.1 and chansons5).

  Again, I deleted the folder "MUSIC" from the library and then add each indivually subfolder. What I found is I might add 2 subfolders (songs.1 and chansons5), but adding that the 3 other subfolders returns an error message, "" the network location cannot be included because it is not indexed".  If I add a new folder under MUSIC I can't add it to the library either.

  I think it should have some type of security or user problem, but can't think of what it would be, since some of the subfolders under the MUSIC can be recognized, while others, including the new folders cannot be added. Someone at - it suggestions?

  I would add that I have no problem with adding my video or picture file to my WHS library.

  Problem has been solved - thought I would post an update if someone of another encounter this type of behavior.

  By continuing to try to understand why only the music files on my server would not be updated I fell into my "homegroup". I checked the settings and noticed that 'MUSIC' was not checked in the "Shared libraries and printers' (don't know why or how). I then checked the box and now I can move my files on the server and the path is updated in the library.

• workflow problem

  Hey everybody

  Have a problem with a workflow and was hoping someone could help me.

  I'm deploying a windows system that is added to the domain via a customization script.

  I then use a vco workflow that executes a script locally on the windows machine.

  If I run it as an administrator account domain not the script does not work and I get an error in the event log

  Windows cannot find the local profile and connects you with a temporary profile. Changes to this profile will be lost when you log out.

  Thus, the script does not run data and no other customization take place.

  If I run as a domain administrator, he worked successfully.  Now, it's an easy fix, just run as a domain administrator, but in the master plan, the domain admin password is clear.

  We have group managers that are not domain admins and should not be able to view a domain admin password.  If they look at the properties, so they can see the clear text password.

  I was wondering if anyone had the same problem of windows can not the question of the local profile of file and if so how did you fix?

  When I run the scripts in vRealize Orchestrator on the guest VM, I store the passwords as an attribute of entry into a secure string.  Is there a reason why you need to pass the password in text clear vRA in the vRO?

  

  A simple example is a WF that creates a local user and adds it to the local administrator group.  I pass the passwd "addUserPassword" as a variable (secure channel) in my order. This command is then run on the local computer through the delivery of the program in the workflow.  The same thing is possible if you use the Package Manager Script comments.

• Dreamweaver cs6 added a folder of my ways by using a template models

  I'm having a problem. I use templates on all of my sites, but I did something on this one and screwed up I think. The index page does not use a template and the links menu correctly to other pages... but all other pages use the same exact menu, but does not link properly. Because these pages use templates for some reason any all links have the "templates" folder in their... If I look at the code for the model, it is not... but if I look at the code on the pages of the "templates" folder has been added so that they are not working...

  You can see at www.drawingaway.com. If you access any index.html page, it works fine. But if you try to access any page of another page... it does not work. Does anyone know how to get rid of the folder "templates" in the links of the code?

  DW did exactly what you said to do. Here is an excerpt of your model of "main.dwt".

  Note that this is a page template AND all the links are what you expect to have if the linked files are in the same folder as the model level, so they are considered as needing to have "Models" in the link in any page of the child. The way to avoid that is to never make these links by hand-coding them. Always open the model and use the browse property inspectors to search for and select each linked target file.

• Size of files with remote workflow problems

  I'm re-examining InCopy as a tool for our quarterly publications of color full page both 24 and the problem I am currently facing the design team call for the size of the files would be a problem for us to use the workflow remotely - how guys handle large files by e-mail? Any tips or advice?

  In addition, regarding the layout workflow, require a big effort of the design team to split into individual differences? As it is another question.

  Currently, we have a process of cumbersum and want to resolve it as soon as possible.

  If you use a remote workflow... designers send editors off-site packages assignment InCopy (ICAPs)... then they need create assignments to pack them for the remote InCopy user. There is no need to split a provision into smaller files or anything like that.  An assignment is a subset of the INDD file. several assignments - each encompassing different pages or sections - are created from the same INDD file.

  When the designer creates the assignment, ask them to turn off "include the original images in packages." that should reduce the size of the file.

  Or - as Bob said - you can avoid any distance/assignment workflow package rigamarole together keeping just the file in a project folder in the Dropbox folder on the local hard drive of the designer and to share the project with the publishers folder. In this workflow, the editors open the INDD file on their local computer and discover stories, as if they were open from a file on a network server.

• Adding a folder in "start".

  Thanks Big_Dave, I arrived in 'Start-up' in an effort to add Firefox as a folder so that it would take me to my home page when I logged in, rather than on the desktop, it does now.   Problem is: I have no idea what I'm doing and that means that I don't know how to add this folder for Firefox.  The start page is empty or incidentally, I just got this PC yesterday after my other big once crashed.

  Fred,

  You want to have Firefox start when you log in to Windows?  You don't need to add a folder, just the shortcut for Firefox. Just Naviagate in the startup as folder indicated in your previous post, reduce the window down in size, close the other windows now, click and hold the Firefox desktop icon and drag it to your window always open to the startup folder and make a copy.

  AppData is a file provided by Windows which must appear in your Windows profile folder in C:\Users\username.  Various programs (and Windows itself), create files and folders in AppData.  You don't want to remove it.

  However, you can hide it again.  In the profile folder where you see AppData, click Tools > folders and select the view tab.  Under "hidden files and folders", click the box marked 'do not show hidden files, folders or drives', and then click OK.  You should see is no longer at that point of AppData.
