  This is a problem that came only in the last day or two...

  Had my Blackberry 9000 for a few weeks and have been able to use internet with it with no problems. However in the last two days, I find that I can no longer click on all links using the trackball. There is no response either whenever I tried to click on the links. This is valid for all websites on all three of my browsers on the device. Text based links, I can just use the command 'Get Link' or press 'enter', but these options are not available for links based on java as the buttons of opening session on Yahoo and some other sites, therefore, I can not in them.

  In addition to the above issues, the trackball seems to work very well. I am able to click on bookmarks, that seems to work... and all the other functions of the trackball (AFAIK) seems to work very well. It's just when I'm on websites that I can't click on the links either.

  Have you tried to reset the device by removing the battery for a minute? After that the battery is given to, it will restart in any 1-3 mins, then try it

  I don't have the CD.

  Its quite possible that this is a cable to charge only and not for data transfer. A good OEM cable is recommended.

  However, with the device connected and turned on, go to my computer and see if the BB is listed as a drive. If not then its certainly the cable fault.

  Thank you both for your responses.

  I managed to find a solution to my problem, so I thought I would post, not only for the benefit of third parties, but because I thought it was funny when I realized what was causing the keyboard lock.

  When I have my BB out on my desk, I put on the case. I noticed the other day it was light as soon as I picked it up and goes dark as soon as I put it down.

  I checked for password, settings etc. of the screen and couldn't work on what was going on.

  Then I realized, because I rely on the case in the same way that he would lie if it was in the Holster, the magnets (I think there are magnets in the Holster?) were lining up at the BB and she believed that it was inside the case.

  Solution: I know put on the case, but turned around 90 degrees so its cross-cutting installation. Solved :-)

It is possible to bypass your carrier and request direct assistance from the RIM, but this generates costs, since you are without your support contract with your carrier. The "Support & Services" tab to the top of the forum pages provide information on this subject. But, if you go through your carrier for support, they can degenerate into RIM without cost to you if they choose to.

  So with this prelude to reset your expectations, there are a few things you can try...

  Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  You can also check your carriers BB OS download site to see if they have released a new device than what OS version you are running. You can find through this Portal:
