WPA-Enterprise - Satellite S1400

I have a Satellite S1400 with integrated radio (pre centrino). I'm trying to connect it to our Cisco WAP's that are configured with WPA-Enterprise.

XP has no built-in apps to manage the WPA-Enterprise, we use real Intel software.

This however does not work with cards W/Lan that are not intel based.

Does anyone know if:

(a) Toshiba have an app that I can use that will allow me to use WPA-Enterprise on this laptop.

(b) there is no 3rd software out there that will do the same.

I searched Toshiba and the internet with nothing will do!

Thank you all

Hello

Unfortunately, as much as I know Toshiba doesn t offers additional WLan tools that could enable the WPA-Enterprise.
In my laptop Toshiba computers knowledge are delivered with the Atheros Wlan card or Intel WLan cards. If the Atheros WLan card has been installed, so you can use the Atheros WLan utility. If the WLan Intel card is installed, so you can use the Intel utility.

In addition if the WLan card doesn't support this encryption so I you'll need a new card or USB WLan key that supports the encryption of this special.

  • Satellite S1400-503: 16-bit or 32-bit Cardbus type?

    Hi all
my PC Satellite S1400-503 (INTEL Celeron 1.33 GHz) has two PCMCIA slots: they are "16-bit" or "32-bit" Cardbus type? Are there commands through which I can get this information in the PC?

I ask this because I bought a card D - Link USB-2 must be used in a PCMCIA location and use it with a scanner (Canoscan 8400F) it seems that the data transfer speed is not very good: in fact, the scanner works by intermittent, stop and restart several times in order to transmit the image it seized in pieces; so, it looks like a problem of speed in data transfer and bandwidth of the PCMCIA slot may be involved in this.

Thanks in advance. Hefte - Bologna - Italy

    Hello

CardBus 32-bit is the satellite 1400-503/PC-Card supported 16-Bit interface and you can use two cards PCMCIA Type II or a PCMCIA card type-III.

  • Uppdate BIOS for Satellite S1400-253 s

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite S1400 - 256S model, model number: PS140E-0CR36-SW. Does anyone know were I can find the last update of the BIOS for this model?

I put t know if you find a latest BIOS for this laptop, but if you want you can search on the European driver Toshiba in archive page.
It seems an older notebook and so drivers were transferred to the archives.

But to be honest, I wouldn't recommend updates to the BIOS if the laptop runs without problem.

  • Cannot connect to WPA with Satellite Pro 6100

    Hello

I have problems connecting to the secure WPA using a Satellite Pro 6100 companies network. I know from Google search the default drivers for the wireless card on the 6100 must be upgraded to WPA compatible. It's a Toshiba Wireless LAN mini PCI Card, and I've already upgraded to the version of the driver 7.82.0.550.
Even with what I believe to be the correct configuration, this still does not connect to the wireless network. I did in the past, so I know it works, but I do not remember how I fixed it. Anyone know if I missed something?
    Thank you

  • Update wireless WPA on satellite A110-276

I have the laptop above that has built-in wireless 'WEP '. We again lapop work which has integrated wireless WPA.

Can I upgrade my satellite WPA Wireless so that they can both work out of the box of wireless router?

    Hello

WLan encryption depends on the material (WLan card)
You cannot activate the WPA through day of any driver WLan or LAN troubleshooter.
If the wireless network adapter does not support WPA you will not be able to afford him.

You need to replace the minPCI wireless network card or you use a USB WiFi key that supports WPA encryption.

  • Removing a CD from a Satellite S1400-253 s drive

Can someone tell me how to remove the CD drive on my laptop S1400-253 s. The computer is not under warranty.
    Thank you.

    Hello

As far as I know on the right side at the bottom of the unit, you can find a screw. It s placed in the middle. You must remove this screw. Then, it should be possible to remove the drive on the case. But beware.
If you don't know how to remove or if you have trouble to remove the drive, you should ask the ASP for some details

    Good bye

  • After replacing the CPU, I can't start my Satellite S1400-553 s

    Hello

I opened my Toshiba laptop to replace the CPU a newer version, among other items recovered another satellite, when I replaced the and closed it up that I do not have to be initialized now.

When I press on the power button the floppy drive makes a noise for a second slot and turns off again and the yellow power LED cable lights.

I put back the original parts in the machine, but I still have the problem.

Any idea of what s upward?

    Thank you
    Rob

    Hello Rob

I agree with Johnny. You have probably damaged the mainboard. Replacement of the CPU part of the very sensitive laptop and most people make mistake and CPU burn out. You are a technician or is the replacement of material your hobby?

  • Restart the disk for Satellite S1400-253 s

My computer has been attacked by some virus hardcore, and so I decided to reconfigure my machine to start with a clean slate. However, I could not find the disc that came with my machine, because I recently moved to USA temporarily (and I probably forgot to bring with me, of course!) so I used my drive of roommates with windows, etc., that came with your dell computer.

Needless to say that my computer is not a return to normal and claims that he doesn't have a network card, while he was perfectly able to go on the internet before.

I tried to download the drivers from the site to the right of my pain, but nothing helped. Anyone know how I can get my hands on another drive to remake my machine, one that will have the drivers etc for my machine?

  • 802 1250.11n wpa tkip compatible?

Only, we got a 1250 AP and try to configure 802.11n on it. We were using TKIP and WPA (Enterprise) and I received the message below:

April 8, 14:24:12: % DOT11-4-NO_HT: Interface Dot11Radio0, Mcs rates disabled on vlan 132 due to not using the AES encryption or encryption is not disabled

Users who connected got only speeds up to 54 Mbps.

I changed encryption algorithms to use AES - CCM instead of TKIP, the message went, and guests were able to connect with 802.11n speeds. (H1, H2, etc.)

The message revealed as you use AES, it are the case, or do I need to add something to the config?

    Thank you

    Joe

802.11n does not support WPA-TKIP... you use AES... Most likey WPA2-AES...

    I learned way too hard.

SSID is the name of the network. His need if you manually configure a wireless connection.

    WPA-Personal = WPA - PSK (TKIP)

    WPA2-Personal = WPA2 - PSK (AES)

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi_Protected_Access

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-different-wireless-network-security-methods

This means that you can use or plan on different customers, IE. PC - A uses WPA-Personal while PC - B uses WPA2-Personal, and the router that will allow them to connect assuming the encryption key and password / password is correct. You can probably configure the Netgear for only WPA-Personal or WPA2-Personal. WPA2-Personal is the best from a security point of view. FWIW I have the same settings on my wireless Belkin router, IE. its configured for WPA - PSK + WPA2 - PSK. In my case, I only use WPA2-Personal on my wireless clients and simply never taken need to configured the router to only use WPA2-Personal.

  • Cannot print with HP6840 since I added the password to the Apple AirPort Extreme network

I recently added to my Mac Airport Extreme network WPA password protection. While I can access the network from my computer, I can't print a HP6840, one of my two wireless printers, even if there is no problems prior to the addition of password.

I can always print to my old HP LaserJet 6MP using an AppleTalk-Ethernet bridge and managed to reconfigure my second wireless printer to work with the new password.

    I already tried the following:

Uninstalled/reinstalled the original CD and more recent software/drivers HP printer

Tried to printer configuration using the Ethernet - half thanks looking for printer, received an error message "Communication error with a printer" and the installation process has failed.

Checked: Safari bookmarks / Hello: printer does not appear

Computer and the printer turned off and restarted the computer

    None of these attempts succeeded.

Any suggestions on how to restore my wireless printing?

    Thank you.

Mac OS 10.5.7 iMac with Intel processor

I spent 3 hours on the phone this morning with the HP Technical Support. While the call cost me $35, it's probably money well spent. After trying all kinds of approaches to installation, we finally concluded that the villain was probably the combination of personal WPA2 to authenticate password on my network and the inability of the HP6840 printer (now almost 5 years) to support WPA2. Tech said that WPA2 wasn't around 5 years.

So I have two options: delete the password completely and let my unprotected network, use a WEP password (which can create an Apple AirPort and the printer can recognize) or try a WPA password. However, it seems that the airport offer only WPA-Personal and WPA Enterprise, while the printer does not seem to accept the WPA.

Even if I don't really relish change passwords again, it seems that WEP is the way to go.

Hope this helps those trying to install old printers on the new networks.
