    Hello

I have 2 WPC54G NIC with no brand version after the model number.  The FCC ID: WPC54G-PKW-2 East.

These cards do support WEP with the original drivers.  Is it possible to use a later version driver in order to get support WPA?

    Thank you.

    SOLVED.

By reading the text file for the Version 3 driver, I found that it supports all previous maps AND provides a WPA/WPA2 encryption.  I downloaded and installed the driver and am up and execution of WPA2.

  • replace the adapter - wpc54g

I think I have a bad adapter. I struggled to get the wpc54g to connect. I had finally installed it and it worked very well. But as soon as I turned off the laptop computer, the next time that I started it, the card could not find the network. I got physically remove the card and replace it into the cardbus slot. Then he would find the network and start working, or once he made me reinstall the drivers and give the WEP key.

This happened every time I restart the laptop.

Solved the problem. He wwas a bad card. I replaced it with a new one and the system works perfectly.

  • WPC54G installation disc does not work

I am trying to install a wireless card WPC54G on a Compaq Evo N600C laptop with Windows 2000 Pro operating system.  When I use the boot disk, on the screen of the license agreement, the license agreement covers the button "next".  The only button that is available is the button "Cancel".  So I can't complete the installation from the CD.

In addition, the icon of the adapter on the toolbar says "network cable is unplugged".

Can anyone help!  I have spent hours trying to get this work and make me desperate!

Hi MGM, the same thing happens in Windows XP, and here's how I got around him.  Go to view-> settings-> advanced and change the DPI setting of 'Big size' to 'Normal '.  After the restart before the change takes effect, the screen of the Installation Wizard will use a slightly smaller font, and then you can click on the button "Next" that is shown in the quick installation guide.

  • Cannot renew the IP (WPC54G card/Linksys Wireless Router)

I think that the Wireless 'hardware' (is that correct?) in my laptop came out because I could use my Linksys wireless router until I installed a Wireless Linksys WPC54G card if I used an ethernet cable to connect with.  If the card is installed and I am connected to my network, I have an excellent signal but no Internet connectivity. I did the command "ipconfig" and renewed my IP address, but it appears as 169.xxx.x.x. I can't renew the IP address of 192.xxx.x.x.

Does anyone know how to fix, or what is the problem?  I'm set up to ensure that the configuration of IP address automatically, so it has nothing to do with it.  Thank you.

First check the settings on your Linksys router wireless... Follow this link (this must be done on a computer/laptop wired)...

Once you know the SSID and the network/WEP/WPA key, then uninstall the adapter linksys and re - install...

Uninstall the Linksys software menu programs... Re - install drivers insert the CD of Linksys install in your CD-ROM drive, when the welcome is displayed click on exit, connect your USB adapter now... When the Hardware Update Wizard window appears, click on install the software automatically (recommended) and then click Next.

NOTE: The hardware installation screen may appear indicating that the adapter has failed the Windows Logo test. Ignore the window and click on continue to continue the installation because the adapter has been tested and it works with Windows XP. When Windows has finished installing the driver, click on Finish.Goto Control Panel and double-click on network connections... Right click on wireless network connection, and then select view available wireless networks "-If you see your network wireless in the list, the highlight by clicking 'single' on it now, click on the 'Connect' button below-if your wireless network is secured, it asks you to provide the network key - provide the wireless network key and confirm again in the confirmation box and click 'Connect'." • WPC54G: autostart?

I can't understand why my laptop does not start automatically to the top of the card wireless from the start. Must always click on the WPC54G and then pass by the site survey and then enter the WEP key whenever I want to open a session on the internet. I am running XP PRO. This problem does not exist on another similar laptop computer, or two desktop computers, I use this wireless connection for. Thanks for the tips waiting!

It works! Mahalo nui loa, amine.

  • WIndows 98 SE & WPC54G ver 3 (not ver 3.1)

I had a problem get it running on my old laptop that is running Windows 98 Second edition.  I've been on the linksys support offerings direct tech, which has been very helpful, but have not found the solution.

I tried to download the 3 different versions of the driver for the card of network 3 WPC54G ver & whenever I'm still getting a circle of yellow exclamation that the device does not work in Device Manager after updating the driver.

I don't have the CD that came with the wireless network adapter.

With the latest driver, I was able to get the monitor & functional, but it is not found the wireless network (which works & has been tested with another device) access point.

With the version 2 driver I was able to type in the SSID & pre shared key, but I received an error message & he never found the access point.

I also tried the 3.1 driver (even though it says ver 3 on mine, not a 3.1 anywhere), which seems to charge in, but there is no monitor to look again for the access point, so none if typing in the SSID & pre-shared key.

In the driver all updates, I am asked for the disc of Windows 98 SE, but when loading the file still is not on the CD (which I confirmed by doing a search on the disc).  Then I typed in some places another file that I found on another thread in this forum & that usually seems to do the trick (C:\windows\options\cabs, C:\windows\system, etc.) but not for all versions of pilot.

Any other ideas, or drivers that may work?

I had already tried this, but thanks for the suggestion.  In addition, there is not a chance this old laptop could run XP.

I was finally able to get the adapter to work in the hardware profiles, after a long night with the help of the direct support of linksys.  Unfortunately we could not always get the adapter to recognize the wireless network after you install the monitoring software for each version.  I then read in the software (version 1.3) Boingo wireless & who did the trick.  There the pilot of linksys and Boingo wireless monitor software.

  • WPC54G ver 3 (not "3.1")

So, I've been running WPC54G ver 3 on my laptop for a while. Recently, I had to do a restore. I don't know where is the installation CD, and I downloaded "ver 3.1" from here. Then, I put the program on a flash drive and plugged into my lappy. After I unpacked, I had these items in the folder: "bcm43xx", 'bcm43xx64', 'bcmwl5', 'bcmwl564' and 'lsbcmnds '. The computer does not know what to open bcmwl5 (64) with. How to operate or I have to download a different file type? Thank you.

(PS: my laptop runs Windows XP)

Well, sorry for the triple display. But I just restarted and it should all work soon, we just need to find the information to get on the network wireless home. Thanks anyway xD

  • WPC54G ver 1.2

I had this card for years and suddenly it does not connect to my router.  He says there's a link, but then gets just by acquiring address and never acquires an address.  It works very well for 4 years, but suddenly won't acquire an address.  I can connect to other networks without problem, I can't find the setting that is causing the error with my home network.

Check the settings of your router wireless... Follow the link here , once you have the wireless settings to do this: go to control panel and double-click on network connections.
Right click on wireless network connection and click Properties.
Now, in this window, click on the second tab of wireless network and give a check mark on "use windows to configure my wireless" and delete all the names of network from the preferred networks window. Then click OK...
Right click on again wireless network connection and click View available wireless networks and try to re - connect to your network.
Now, it will give you the opportunity to put the network/wep key, make sure that you enter the correct network key and confirm...
    It will connect...

  • WPC54G V2 - monitor WLAN

Re-installed Windows XP on a laptop. I have downloaded/extract the driver the latest, installed the adapter

pointing to the location of the driver (I have lost the original CD).

I can't enter a 26 character WEP key via Control Panel you can enter only characters-23. I guess

the WLAN monitor to allow me to be able to enter the 26-character key.

How to install the WLAN monitor? I saw a message saying that the WLAN monitor is

in the utility folder (created by the extraction of rhe pilot).

Is it just a matter of running the Setup.exe file in this folder?

    Thank you.

    I should have summarized:

-Connected to a wireless network (with no broadcast SSID) w/o a CD or the monitor of WLan utility.

-I think that the question of how to install the LAN utility has been requested before; However, I do not think that

a detailed response was provided in this forum.

  • Satellite Pro A40 - how to turn on wireless?

    Hello

I recently formatted and installed Windows XP Professional on a Toshiba Satellite Pro A40.
But I can't understand how to activate Wifi on the computer.

When I press FN + F8, nothing happens. All the drivers are installed properly, no errors appear in the Device Manager in Windows. Do I have to install specific drivers, like I used to use the other FN keys (I needed to install common Modules)?

I also have a (Linksys Wireless - G WPC54G) PCMCIA card. When I put the card in the laptop, the power led flashes once, but also nothing happens. This card is not compatible with this laptop?

Please can you give me some advice?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Nothing

    Hey,.

What is the card listed WLAN correctly in Device Manager? Or you see yellow exclamation points or unknown devices?

Maybe you should try to update the WLAN driver. On the Toshiba site, you can find the most recent version.

You should also tell us what happens if you search for your WLAN router. The WIFI connection is displayed in network connections?

  • What card WiFi for Equium A100-549

As a bit of a novice I need some advice from people more experienced than me!
I am currently using the router broadband wireless G Linksys and the adapter for my wireless home connection, however, I have the adapter connected to a usb port for connectivity - too bad for wire - less connections!

I see on my laptop, that there is what I think, it is a spare on the side card slot left (is this known as a PCMCIA slot?) If so, I am considering buying the WPC54GS card so can I have a link really wireless (is this card also known as a wireless radio card?} - your advice very much appreciated = Baz)

Some laptop computers in this series have been delivered with an Atheros AR5005G Wireless card minPCI.

Contact the service provider in your country. Here, you can order taken in charge and compatible wireless network card.

Do you know how to connect it?
I don t think you will find a slot at the bottom of the unit. This is why the WLan slot must be somewhere under the keyboard.
In such cases, it s always a good idea to ask someone with more experience computer and upgrade.

  • No wireless connection in network connections

I did a clean install of Windows XP.  I ran all the updates.  There is no wireless connection in my network connections.  I looked on the microsoft website without success for a download of this connection.  How can I get it so I can use my wireless to my router.  I have a Linksys WPC54G and use a Dell Inspiron 8600.  XP Service Pack 3 is installed.

If you did a clean install of Windows (as opposed to 'restore to factory conditions'), you must reinstall all the drivers for your hardware.  Windows XP includes some basic drivers, that's why you are able to start Windows, but you need the drivers for your specific hardware.

Go to http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19?c=us&l=en&s=dhs and enter your Dell Service's number.

You need not be. I posted a link to google cache, so keep scrolling down, the answers are displayed below. It contains details on the manual creation of the registry key for the zero configuration service.
