Writeback - change the size of the text area displayed

Hello
I use writing in OBIEE 10. I know, we can define the size of the input area in ways that no one will be able to add more text than allowed. But even if I am to welcome 2000 characters the text box is displayed as a single line entry box.
Is it possible to change the size of the text area displayed in particular to allow more than a single line?
Thank you

Hey,.

You will need somehow to hack the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) OBI when writeback (see table) is present instead of a HTML text box item, display a TEXTAREA HTML element. Currently, there is no other way to achieve this.

You can read more about HTML input types here,
http://www.w3schools.com/HTML/html_forms.asp
and
play with an example of a TEXTAREA HTML element here, http://www.w3schools.com/html/showit.asp?filename=tryhtml_textarea

See you soon,.

  • change the text of legend group object image size figure

    I need to change the text frame size legend for figure based on the width of the figure in grouped objects

    How to do it please advice.

    Your information and code are not accurate! > Some parentheses are missing, expand the textframe 240 or the width of the image?

    However: Everything made to the works contained in the user interface, it expands the scope of the legend in my test to the right. I decided to write an own function for editing.

    main();

    function main() {

    var curDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var allGroups =  curDoc.groups;

    for (var i = 0; i < allGroups.length; i++) {
      var curGroup = allGroups[i];
      var pItems = curGroup.pageItems;
      if (pItems.length != 2) { continue; }
      for (var j = 0; j < pItems.length; j++) {
        var curItem = pItems[j].getElements()[0];
        var constrName = curItem.constructor.name;
        if (constrName == "Rectangle") {
          var rect = curItem;
        }
        else if (constrName == "TextFrame") {
          var tf = curItem;
        }
      }
      var rectGB = rect.geometricBounds;
      var tfGB = tf.geometricBounds;
      tfGB[1] = rectGB[1];
      tfGB[3] = rectGB[3];
      tfGB[2] = tfGB[2] + 20;
      tf.geometricBounds = tfGB;
      fitFrame(tf);
    }

    function fitFrame(aFrame) {
      var lastBaseLine = aFrame.lines[-1].baseline;
      var b = aFrame.geometricBounds;
      aFrame.geometricBounds = [b[0], b[1], lastBaseLine, b[3]];
    }
    }

    Note: The script will check if there are two elements on the page of the group. It does not, check if these two elements are textframe and rectangle, it assumes that it is correct.

  • Change the text in a text area

    When I added the PDF text initially, I typed in a box, but when I go to edit/add text, several areas of text created causing it to be difficult to change. Is there a way to format the pdf document, so that the text appears in the text area?

    No, you can not do anything. Acrobat scans the page when you select the text tool change & Images and divides the text inside boxes as appropriate see it. As PDF files were never really designed to be edited in this way, there is no guarantee that it will behave the way you expect it. It's about conjectures (based on a complex algorithm, of course).

  • How the little purple pink squares onto a PDF to add/change the text. Also how edit you fonts? This app is not easy to use. Read the instructions and they are lacking to say the least.

    I hate this app! I read the user guide, but it does not with the application. How/where are the small Pink/Purple to add/change the text boxes? How can we change phont and point?

    If you use Adobe Reader/Acrobat Reader, that you do not sense because it's none of those things.

    Edit a PDF file and the creation of form fields are made with Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Pro.

    Once the fields of the form are added, people with Adobe Reader can fill.

    Note that, even in Acrobat Pro, editing is very limited and frustrating because PDF is not made for editing.

  • Acrobat Standard DC - can't change the text and text box properties

    Earlier this week, I lost the ability to change the properties of the text and text boxes.

    When I add a comment with a text box or in the text caption, I do all the time, I used to be able to change the font color, size, alignment, etc.

    Now, when I go to insert a text box or the legend, all the options in the properties bar are grayed out.

    This issue effects ONLY the text in the box and the caption functions. all the other drawing functions work very well. I can change the color, fill and the type of lines around the text, I can just change the text.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

  • Cannot change the text box.

    Adobe Acrobat DC recently auto updated to the latest version, and it seems that the new version does not change the text boxes.

    The screenshot below shows what I mean.  I added a text box and pointed the police to change the size / font style / color, but it is gray just to go out in the toolbar properties (Ctrl + E)

  • How can I add a right click Menu mouse to click 'CANCEL' * and * "REDO" button to change the text in Firefox?

    How can I add a Menu with the right mouse button to display a "UNDO" AND "REDO" button to change the text back in Firefox without losing or forgetting the changes as I can under Google Chrome? -OMG I told dinnt - SORRY!

    Glad you stuck with this issue cuz I pulled a real boner trying to fix. I was totally distraught on the main menu of * two * UNDO and REDO. If you remember that I tried to install the menu shortcut for UNDO them and REDO and totally rejected the idea that they might be under Edit on the crazy Main Menu which of course, they have been and worked like a charm. THANKS again man, you are a true hero!

  • Change the text displayed, based on the threshold value

    Hi users of Labview,.

    I need help with display and editing text in labview.

    The text should display and change according to the following conditions:

    0 volt - "no power".

    1 volt - "controller ON".

    2 Volt - "Rotor Running"

    3 volt - "Rotor stopped".

    Based on the voltage read by the channel, the text must be displayed and modified on the same area of the front panel. For example, initially it will be 0 Volt and the text "No power" should appear as an indicator of text (and not as a warning message). He needs to change ' controller we ' when the chages of voltage from 0 to 1 volt. The canal reads the analog input voltage (range 0 - 5V).

    I'm relatively new to labview. So please give me pointers or from suggestions on how can be done. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    REDA

    Hello

    Thanks for the crossrulz of notes, have not used the front threshold.  For this simple example, it is "symmetrical", but I can see how the values in the table have been does not correspond to the index position that is so true useful.  Learn something every day, I could not resist, wanted to try.

    OK, here's a sample VI that puts a custom message based on the crossing of a threshold.  Home work is to study the components before asking to :-)

    The dice are the analog signal of 0 to 6.   He rounded to the whole number to provide the index number.  Power is the index number in the index table, the table being hard-coded text messages.

    Two additional indicators may be deleted, useful to see what is happening.

    And get rid of the value 0 if you want the text to match the number, he he he

    Enjoy.

  • change the text unit-error bounds 1128

    Hey everybody,

    I develop a VI that uses the native power of LabVIEW units to do all the conversions of my numbers.

    Here my question, once variables are defined for a control when editing can I change the text of unity to something not related to execution in order to prepare my indicator for a different signal? For example, lets say channel 1 is a temperature for Test1 so programmatically feray Cdeg conversion and back without problem for LabVIEW. For Test2, the same VI is used, but now the channel 1 is a pressure. Programmatically change my of feray indicator units now a unit of pressure psi, atm or bar? I am getting error 1128 "input unit is not compatible with the device current." even if the device is correct when it is entered at the time of publishing.  Any thoughts?

    Thank you
    Craig

    Hi Lucie,.

    No, you cannot change the type of unit when running. This will be fixed at compile time. You can modify other representations of the same physical property (as the Pa to the bar or some obscure lb/po2 of pressure).

    An old trick when using units:

    You can use '$1' as a control unit. Using a function to "Convert the unit" also set to "$1"you can then strip the unit." If your Subvi accepts any control unit connected-, but that does not solve your problem of perticular

  • How to remove the text areas of a scanned document

    How can I remove a plethora (sp?) of the text areas of a scanned document?

    Hello JBreeden,

    More scanned documents cannot be changed, unless you have a software that can read digital information. The scanned document is just a picture of the item that you have scanned. You must have a software like OCR (optical character recognition) to be able to make changes to the digitized item.

    Thank you

    Original title: need help with wordpad problem

    When I have something to stick in wordpad and then change the text, I'll then on preview before printing and most of the time the whole document is not there. I double space between lines and all that is more than one page disappears. I tried all the different formats (no envelope, window envelope, etc.). How can I fix?

    Hello

    ·         What happens if you use another application to preview before printing?

    ·         You are able to print the document correctly, or you receive no error message when printing?

    You try to use Microsoft Word or Notepad to check if you face the same problem.

    First of all, I would like to check to see if print preview is working on a new empty document with only a word in it.

    If Yes, then the problem is the document.

    You may need to clear any formatting, that depends on where you copied from.

  • Text boxes, change the text of locking

    Hello

    Is it possible to create text boxes in Adobe Reader ms and their locking in place, but being able to add text and editing text says?

    If there is any other way to add says "boxes" that are locked and change the text inside them while I am also open to these suggestions.

    The main problem, unlocked boxes, I use is that I want them to be a specific width and once I go and change the text and click outside the box, width changes and the text is aligned is more correctly, since I'm getting centered.

    I found this other question by another person who seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm afraid that I don't understand the response:

    Restrict editing of text only; not move the content irrelevant.

    Form fields are available in the product that I use?

    Thank you!

    You can only add form fields in Reader by using a script like this, I developed: Scripts Adobe custom: Reader - create form fields in Adobe Reader

    However, you cannot apply a security policy that will prevent users from adding text outside your fields.

    I think a better solution for you would be to get Acrobat, if. It will allow you both to add form fields and apply a security policy (and many other things).

  • I have dl'ed pic of Shutterstock Vector but can not change the text.

    I remember I have open upwards or something like that last year, but I forgot how much exactly.

    Anyone know how you can change the text in a vector image in Photoshop? When I open it, it's an entire layer. Cannot modify the text that was on the peak.

    You would have to edit it in Adobe Illustrator, and from there, you can delete the text. Double-click on the image to select the specific area (using the isolation mode) and then delete.

    Hello

    in what format save you your file? If it's a jpg file, then the text is compressed and unfortunately PS is telling things as they are. Even if you could change the text before you save, after having been saved in jpg format, the text is merged and is no longer editable.

    A good solution is to save the files as PSD files, photoshop files. In this case, all layers are saved uncompressed and so your text will appear in its own layer in photoshop. All you need to do in this case to change it is the result of a three-step procedure

    (1) select the right layer

    (2) take the text tool in the tools bar

    (3) mark and change your text

    So the crucial question is: in what format you save your file?
