WRT1900AC Reboot

Hi all

I bought this router that I had 2 problems with my old one, wirless and random reboots coverage

Until now really please with my purchase, I was able to disable both my wirless Extenders because this unit offers great coverage.

What I can't find in the settings is an indication of how long the router like this been upward. On my old it was easy, you went to Internet connection settings, and it showed how much he had been connected.

I would like to be able to see it, so I can't be sure that all the problems have been resolved, I enabled recording are shown rebbots there?

Thank you

You can enter this in a browser when you are connected locally: 192.168.1.1/sysinfo.cgi you will get a report showing much info on the router, but the upper part will uptime.

  • WRT1900AC does not recognize external disk after reboot

Apparently the internet was going out at 5:00 when my wife woke up. So she restarted the router, and when he didn't return, it restarted the router and the modem. (I'll have to give lectures on how it is the modem if the wifi is working properly).

Currently, the router does not see the hard drive plugged into the port USB3. It worked fine for two weeks we had the router - copy files from computer to the player, to watch videos in the player on tv, etc.. The last time that the storage device is in use was last night, very clearly, that it is the fault of my wife

Now, in the settings of Linksys SmartWiFi, everything said is that there is no drive in the external port no matter how many times I have update the parameter.

    • I tried to restart the router again, no dice.
    • I tried to disconnect & reconnect the drive - no dice.
    • I tried to unplug the drive, turning off the coast, turn it on and then reconnect - no dice.

I disconnected the drive completely and plugged into a laptop - and Windows says the drive contained errors. Let him scan & fix errors; normally mounted the drive and I was able to navigate through the files.

So something is up - ideas?

  • iMac connects to the router of Linkysys WRT1900ac

I am trying to help a friend get his iMac 12.1, that is running 10.11.4, to connect to a new Linksys WRT1900ac router.  The router is a novelty in this House, is in the same room of 10 x 12, as the computers listed below, and the installer was using the Linksys recommends the method, which is to let the Linksys to make adjustments.

    Here are its configuration;

    The router is connected to a cable modem, ISP and the following devices are connected to the router and works well;

    Via ethernet

    Windows 10 PC

AT & T cell phone extender

    Ooma VOIP

    Wireless

    iPhone

    iPad

    Notebook PC

While troubleshooting my MacBook 5.1 also allows to connect without problems to the Linksys router.

Note that her iMac connects without problem to the wifi network Netgear Guest unprotected from its neighbor.  I also installed in his room my 1st generation Airport Express, which has added a second wifi network but without access to the internet and his iMac connect without problems to this wifi.

    Here are the steps I took to try to solve this problem, and they were unsuccessful;

➔ Scanned for malware/adware with Malwarebytes and found nothing.

➔ Ransacked after the files in/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and restarted

    com Apple.Airport.Preferences.plist
    NetworkInterfaces.plist
    Preferences.plist

➔ When the previous did not work I trashed all the files in the folder/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration except "com.apple.boot.plist', which would not remove and rebooted

➔ Created a second user account and still not able to connect to the Linksys router

    ➔ Repaired permissions

➔ Created a new location in System Preferences > network and added the OpenDNS addresses and in the material value MTU 1453

➔ restarted in safe mode and not still could not connect

Firmware on the router Checked ➔, which is updated

    ➔ Reset SMC

➔ reinstalled El Capitan via the App Store

That's all I could think about.  I'm puzzled.

I checked the router and everything seems ok, but I'm no expert.  There may be something I'm not contagious.  I have seen that he has no MAC filtering set up in the router, so this isn't everything.

Please tell me if there is something that I'm on.  Is there something in the router, that I need to change?  There are other files in the Mac, I need to delete?  Is there any other troubleshooting steps I can take to identify this problem.

Any help would be appreciated as it is a total mystery to me.

There are a lot of variables, but start with some basic info. So on her iMac, if you click the wifi at the top right, you can see his router listed?

  • WRT1900ac internet connectivity problem, internet white flashing light!

So my wrt1900ac has been flashing white tonight. I logged into the router, and do you have a router reboot. That did not work, then I rebooted my modem still does not work.

After all that I did a factory delivered to my wrt1900ac which was a big mistake because now my wrt1900ac THAT WILL NOT back upward. He remains stuck on the detection of internet.

So I did a factory reset my modem which is c1000a and after resetting my modem works fine connected to the wifi without problem what so ever. I handed my modem tried to re-setup my router and transparent bridge mode. Once more the internet wrt1900ac light just flashes white and not connecting, even if my modem works perfectly fine, can anyone help me please?

Sorry, I'm such a newbie to metworking. I take a Cisco class at my local community college. I have no ideal just like the static IPS of default gateways. Now, I know I put my router for a PPPOE connection with my ISP provided connection information. And when I did a factory reset, I continued stuck in the 1st stage of the installation. I know that it does not help anyone to help me. But if someone could give me a few steps on exactly what to check before considering again to exchange it.

  • WRT1900AC - password is admin?

Well, not sure if this happened to someone else. I had problems with the router, chatted with technical support, did what they suggest: 1.Re - flash the new firmware 2. Hold button reset for 10 seconds.

I was somewhere, a few new options for options of 5 Ghz channels showed, but problems began this morning for example (lights out on 2.5 or 5 Ghz, lights on 2.5 and 5 Ghz, new devices not being able to connect not, random flow slowdowns). I've been searching around the internet for something different to try I found and did, 1 wedge of discount for 30 seconds 2. Let go of the reset 3. Unplug the router for 30 seconds 4. Plug it in again.

When it restarts I went to to connect to it, the password that I set up didn't work, the password of the router didn't work, so I got to thinking when I made home computer/network installs, I typed in admin and it let me. I have configured the router back to the way I had it ran fine for about 10 hours. I'm going to download a game on steam, my speed got to 4,3 MB/s (which is great), then I watched it descend slowly to 2.8, then the router rebooted itself. Any other ideas? Sledgehammer may

Oh this now, I did a speed test on the 2.5 Ghz 3.3 Mbps, then the 5 Ghz 59.46 Mbps... Hmmmmm.

Yes, it's exactly what I mean.  Back in the day, DD - WRT is a * beep * to install, but now it's as easy as the upgrade of the stock firmware.  Of course, you will have to configure the router to scratch time, the first after the upgrade of the stock of DD - WRT, but for the subsequent updates of DD - WRT, you can choose to keep your settings.

BTW, I understand your attention, as I was exactly the same thing myself, after reading all kinds of tales of doom on the bricks routers, but that was then...  The modern tricks work, simply (once you have properly set up the radio) :-)

I currently have a WRT1900AC v1 and a WRT610N v2, both current running DD - WRT v3 with the latest Linux kernel, as of 12/01/2015.  Both routers are now rock solid which is more than I can say for all the written Belkin firmwares.  Belkin aren't Cisco!

  • WRT1900ac Intemitant restart Fix

    Hi all

Oh thank God it's not just me who has a problem with this router after having performed a factory reset. And I don't mean that in a bad way I can assure you. It happened to me and I do this for a living, and and reading through this forum is like being in labor. I deal with problems like these on a weekly basis. And today I found myself in the same situation that everyone is and I think I have a pretty good idea of what is causing the problem.

Looking through some complaints on various websites and forums that I started to compile and generate an image of what could potentially cause this problem. I can you LINKSYS know aware of this problem, there is no doubt in my mind, they know this problem? The problem with the resolution of a problem, it can solve the original problem or cause another unrelated problem and then you are passed from one problem to another. So I would say, they are working on a new firmware to fix the problem with the current firmware.

As I said that I have compiled a list of complaints and especially disconnections are after a factory reset has been performed. My years of experience in dealing with such problems, the only logical explanation would be an EPROM corruption after a factory reset has been performed. The cause of the problem is with the Factory Reset , so try to not reset your router unless you really need to.

However, I have a work around, but I must stress only do this if your router is disconnecting or power cycling (reboot itself intermittently). I need to run tests myself, but as it seems right now, it is stable and it is not restarted once since I did my work around. So I hope that this could be a temporary solution but, I need to monitor the connection to see if the router is restarted or not. It would be useful that LINKSYS newspapers held useful information such as disconnections and power cycles (reboot) but unfortunately it doesn't. Just a little tip for LINKSYS.

ATTENTION check updates before downloading the file...

Before you start to download the latest version of the firmware on your router WRT1900ac here are the following link. It is version 1.1.8.161917 http://downloads.linksys.com/downloads/firmware/1224701051259/FW_WRT1900AC_1.1.8.161917_prod.img

    IMPORTANT read everything carefully...

Make sure that you have downloaded the latest firmware before you continue. I can not stress the importance of this. Make sure that you have downloaded the right firmware. Automatically search for updates via the following Web site. http://support.Linksys.com/en-EU/support/routers/WRT1900AC

PERFORM a FACTORY RESET ONLY as a LAST RESORT... In the unlikely event that you have no option to reset the router back to factory settings as if you are setting up the router for the first time again through the process step by step , then make sure that it is not a checkmark in the box to update the router. The default firmware is version is 1.1.7.159143.

    1. Click the Troubleshooting menu, and then click the [restore previous firmware] go through the process, and when he finished the router restarts again and the firmware that it came back will be the default value of the 1.1.7.159143firmware.
    2. Once you have reset the router or back to the previous firmware and you are now reconnected to the Internet, 192.168.x.x you router access, connection with your Smart Wi - Fi connection information that you would have to configure when you installed first the router for the first time, or enter the router password.
    3. Go directly to the menu connectivity in your internal routers interface and make sure that you clear the Automaticcheck box.
    4. Manually update the firmware (check the updates first), click choose a file and make it to the destination where you downloaded the firmware on your PC. Click Start, and then wait for the router to update.

Once the update of the firmware over, if all goes well there will be no interruptions or power recycling the router again. I would recommend following the router for at least an hour to make sure that the router is not restart or lose the connection.

    WARNING

DO NOT turn off your router while updating the firmware. This can damage the router and it will not work again. You would probably send it back to LINKSYS so that they can Flash EPROM and then send it to you.

I did mine hours ago and within that period, the router has not restarted once, which certainly an improvement and it would indicate that it worked. However, in the unlikely event that it does not start over from 1 to 4 and try again. It does not work. Mine worked for hours and right now, it doesn't have a time restarted and/or loss of the connection. If you have any problems, feel free to PM me.

    Time for bed...

What you really mean is, you're happy to see someone who doesn't want or need to use all the features, he has paid in his $250 router. Thus, as a result of not to use all the features of the router, there no reset or other issues.

  • WRT1900ACS frequently restart

    Hi all

I just bought a WRT1900ACS router and I have problems with it: the router reboots randomly for about two times a day, during which all my internet connections are lost and the power light flashes, as if you just press the reset button. It's really annoying because I play online games, lose the internet connection means that you are immediately disconnected with the game server.

When I googled the problem, I found that I am not alone and so the current position. Linksys really needs an effective solution, because the current problem is not something that should happen on a router for $250.

If anyone has solutions, feel free to share it here.

Patches are only either return the router if you can and get another (after reading the forums of manufacturers), or do not use their firmware and put either DD - WRT or OpenWRT on it.

Unfortunately this has happened for a long time.

  • Problems setting up router WRT1900ac and fiber

I feel that my question is so obscure that I won't be able to get a lot of help here, but I'll post anyway.

First of all, I live in the Philippines. My ISP is PLDT. I have FTTH - fiber to the home. My internet connection is DHCP - no login or password. I thought that perhaps they checked the serial number on the modem to see if I was an authorized user but apparently not; They told me if I wanted to buy another optical modem, I could and that I wouldn't need to do anything to save it on the network, but that they could not provide me with a list of modems that would work.

They delivered to me with a router/modem made by a company called FiberHome. "Like the big business of high-tech directly affiliated to belonging to the active state of oversight and Board of Directors of the Council of State, FiberHome Technologies is the company of the kernel located in Wuhan Optics Valley of China."

The model number is AN5506-04-FG. There are very few configurable on this. Can I change my wifi network name (they insist that the name of the network begins with PLDTHOMEFIBR, no idea why) and a few passwords here and there. For the most part, I just post status on the LAN and WAN.

Therefore, because it is so little that I can do with it that I decided that I needed a router/gateway and not simply an Extender. I bought the WRT1900ac.

Brought it home, that he repaired, it connected via ethernet cable between a LAN port on the FiberHome on the Internet on the Linksys port.  I then used the WiFi on my iPad to try on the Linksys Setup, try with Safari and Chrome.

Went to put in place and smart control of Linksys could not understand my internet connection, despite several reboots, power off and cable disconnected, etc.

So I went to the manual configuration. I put the connection to a static IP address. Following the minimal instructions in the booklet of FiberHome, I put the IP address of the router to 192.168.1.28; the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0; This gateway 192.168.1.1 (internal IP of the fiber to the home, address) DNS of Google DNS.

This would actually work - but only for a few minutes at a time. Then the network diagram would show that I was always connected to the FiberHome but no connection to Internet in addition. (Although my PC, connected to the FiberHome via a LAN cable, still had access to the internet.)

I used the live chat Linksys to ask an agent to this topic. She said that my gateway setting is correct. She had me reset the router and try again, but he could not yet know the connection to the internet on its own. She had me download the iOS app and try there, but same result. So I received a ticket number and ended the chat session.

Now, I tried to set the internet connection on the router at the bridge. But once I did, I was unable to connect to the router via WiFi. I needed to do a reset to be able to access it again.

At this point I called my ISP. They told me that if I wanted to add another router like that, they would need to reset my router/modem FiberHome bridged mode. But they are unable to do it remotely and cannot (or don't want to) give me instructions on how to do it myself.  They need to send a technician to my home. They could not tell me when. I have to wait for a call. (I got a ticket number).

This means that for now, I have a blue and black, sitting bins there, I can't do anything with.

So I'm waiting, I thought I'd post this in the hope that someone might have some ideas configuration I could try or for the general amusement of peoples.

    Thank you!

You may have a conflict between the two routers in IP subnet. In this case the WRT1900AC will change it's default subnet to 10.x.x.x instead of 192.168.1.1

You can find the new IP address of the router by looking at a customers connect ITI information IP address appears as the default gateway.

  • WRT1900AC keep IP assignment

I bought a WRT1900AC in December (Yes, I should just go there then) and he immediately had this problem. It took me a bit to figure out the cause, and it seems closely related to a lot of questions, I found others posting about, so I just wait for a firmware fix. Well, firmware 4 releases later, it's only gotten worse.

I set the router to have a LAN IP 192.168.100.1 and configure a list of DHCP reservation for all my TVs, PS4s, PS3s, PCs and phones have static IP on my local network addresses. However, whenever my WAN connection resets (I AT & T DSL and every week or so I have to reboot the modem because the connection dies), the router automatically restarts and changes his IP address 10.*. *. *. I have to watch a network card in Windows to determine what IP of my router has chosen for himself, to connect on it, and restore a backup configuration file settings. It would be all right until my DSL modem need to reboot again.

Now, my router has decide to not be satisfied with restoring the settings. It restarts with an IP 192.168.100.1, time consuming (~ 45 seconds) is trying to establish a WAN connection, restarts again with an IP of 10.*. *. * and establishes a WAN connection instantly. It will not retain an IP 192.168.100.1 long period sufficient time to change all the settings before it will restart again. I basically can't put any static IP or port forwarding for one of my network devices, because I have no way of knowing what my router will choose for his next IP address.

I tried the procedure I saw posted about the reset of a first version of firmware, do a factory reset, installing the latest firmware, reconfigure the router from scratch and avoid the application of the 'network card' like the plague. All to nothing does not.

It would be a hardware or firmware problem? Flashing some version of OpenWRT fix this or is this router just in bricks?

What version of Firmware is charged currently?

It may be you ISP modem. It has a built-in router:

    http://www.speedguide.NET/routers/Siemens-SpeedStream-4100-adsl122-router-318

If the ISP's modem has a built-in router, it is best to fill the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: link >http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://computer.howstuffworks.com/nat.htm if the modem cannot be filled then see if the modem has a DMZ option and enter the IP address of the router gets the modem and put it in the DMZ modems. Also check the routers DHCP IP address may be in conflict with the ISP modem 192.168.1.1 IP address. Check to see if it's the same on the ISP's modem and if the modem cannot be filled, replace the 192.168.0.1 Linksys router ou.0.254.

Method of connecting with a modem with integrated router which can be filled with ISP:
ISP (bridged) modem > router WRT1900AC<>connected devices.

Method of connecting with a modem with integrated router which cannot be cured of ISP:
ISP modem (DMZ) > WRT1900ACs WAN ip address placed in modems ISP DMZ<>WRT router devices.

  • WRT1900ACS - low wifi signal strength

Finally, I returned my reboot constantly and lock WRT1900AC V1 and got a new WRT1900ACS in Exchange.  (Thanks for the service of 2 year contract with bestbuy).

The intensity of the signal of the WRT1900AC V1 was regularly 3 to 6 DB louder than my Apple Airport.  It's one of the things that I really liked on the V1 WRT1900AC... good coverage.

The WRT1900ACS is more stable, but the signal strength is very low compared to the Apple Airport.

Here are the results of a test... in both cases I measured the signal strenth with my MacBook Air with the routers placed in the same position and from the same location.  I have reproduced this test of different areas of the House and in all cases, the airport was a signal much stronger.

This is the airport.  RSSI is - 68 DBm, which is a very good signal.

Now, here's the WRT1900ACS. RSSI is - 80dBm which is an almost unusable signal.

So here are my questions to the experts of the group... would you say that this WRT1900ACS is defective and must be returned?  Or y at - it something on the ACS firmware that has changed (I'm currently running with the last 1.0.0.172978 rev).

No amount of 4 on the WRT1900ACS antenna setting does make a difference.

Looking for some ideas to try before returning this unit to another Exchange.

    Thank you

For more insulation, we manually will reflash the firmware of the device. You can do the following:

    • Download the firmware.
    • Manually reflash the firmware of the device.
    • Reset and reconfigure the router. Furthermore, once you reset the router, all settings and configurations that were previously recorded will be deleted. You can save the setting of your router before the firmware update. Here is the link for the process.
