  Hi all

  Relatively new to the product here and I recently introduced using security filters. Currently, a BSO cube is built of a cube basic skeleton using maxl + batch scripts and is rebuilt completely every week. I wonder what options are available to integrate these automated generation of filters.

  1. my first thought was to create only the filters on the cube of basic describing specific members and when maxl copies the cube, it will copy the filters with it. The issue I have with this approach is that it does not keep the assignment to specific users. Is it possible to keep the assignments when the base cube is copied on?

  2. then, I just wrote a script maxl to create and grant the filters, which worked well for the moment. But when there are hundreds of filters, it seems not very efficient or easy to maintain.

  to be back on the topic, you have a very good approach.

  From what I read, you copy a cube of base above with filters, but then you lose the assignment to users that was on the original cube.

  I guess that it is not your basic cube on the same server as your destination cube, otherwise you would not lose assignments. So this would be a solution - the cube to base on the same server and have all users assigned to this too. Then, you create an additional group with all users, where you block the right to the base cube. When you are copying you assign all users group for the destination cube.

  You're talking about hundreds of filters. Please note that group rights add up.

  Best practice: no user gets personal rights, access rights are conducted with groups. Users who belong to the groups.

  Then you build a structure of group/filter. If you do it right, you have a lot of groups, but a user is assigned to only one or a very small number of groups.

  This could be done by MaxL and change probably would occur less frequently.

• Hide the button until all Conditions are met?

  Please help!  I am creating a forklift safety training module. There are 12 buttons on the first slide (see screenshot 1); However, only 11 are visible at the beginning of the slide.  The 12^th button is a "continue" button that appears only after all the content slides (slides 2-12) were considered by the learner.  I used a conditional action to hide the button (something I learned from @Lilybiri) until all the conditions are met.

  
  

  The problem:

  The "Continue" button does not always appear once the content slides have been read.  I found I can do appear to ebb in each slide content, show the slides a few seconds more before returning to the main slide- which seems certain conditions which tells Captivate to display the button "continue".  Of course, I don't want the learners to face to the challenge of trying to understand why they cannot continue. I just want to visit the pages relating to each key to all conditions met.

  How about what is probably very close to what you have already made... (After double checking all of your shares advanced for bugs)

  Each main menu button sets the variable 'consulted' 1, hides the active button, show visited button, then jump to the content. Alternatively, you can put the action on the close button for each slide as you did.

  Then in your main menu, you will have the conditional action on enter that verifies that each variable 'seen' is 1. If it is true, then it will show your button continue.

  I use this method with almost all of the modules that are non-linear. I use it to display a button quiz start, tab summary etc...

  To check your programming that I'm down in a text caption that has all the variables, you will have to look and make sure that they change to 1 as it should. As soon as something does not change probably you have found your problem. Also make sure that none of your actions changed to continue if you have accidentally deleted an object or something similar.

  Also BTW: If you want to increment a variable, you use the action "expression" rather than "assignment." If you keep just assign 1 to a variable, all that you will ever get is 1. example: If the variable = 7 and you assign 1 then now variable = 1.  If you use the variable expression variable = + 1 then you will be able to increment. Also be careful if a user visits an article more than once because it increments the new variable unless you have a control to see if the content has been seen before, and then past increment. Otherwise they could visit the same section 11 times and then have the button continue become visible.

• Complicated assignment of importance?

  I would like to create a spreadsheet to track the importance of the issues to be addressed. I don't know how to get the result that I have in mind. That's what I'm doing:

  I have a spreadsheet with multiple rows and columns. Each line is 1 point, each column is another aspect of the question. What I would like is to be able to assign a unique number to all the elements that define its importance (when it should be handled).

  So, if there are 5 elements, I can assign a 5 point more urgent, 4 to each other online, etc. Then, by using 'top-down ranking', the most important points are automatically on top the lower elements.

  It's easy when there are a relatively small number of elements but the worksheet is more than 300 articles and will grow even more over time.

  I would like to have the numbers to take care of the following:

  1. When you add a new item, have the numbers assign it a unique 'number of importance', and have the previous elements adjust automatically to the new total number of items.

  A complication to your request is that a cell can have a formula in it or an operator entered value, but not both. It seems to me that you must be able to the importance of rank and the newest is not always the most important. Here are the two reasons to be able to automate the process.

  TC worked five days with TWC Arris WiFi modem set up (I think) in Bridge mode.

  I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite C50-A133 with 8.1 for Windows 64-bit (the system of English UK language) of the United Kingdom. So far I have not had major problems with Windows 8.1 but an annoying problem keeps coming back.

  There are currently 12 languages/installed input methods, which some I have assigned shortcuts keyboard, Ctrl + number or Ctrl + Shift + number.

  After the system boots, they work fine, but after a while becomes disabled without me aware to have done anything to turn them off. The only thing I can do is to open the menu language preferences and assign shortcuts again.

  They disappeared in the menu language of shortcut keys, specifically each shortcut that I put has changed 'None '. This happens after a while little matter what I use the computer for.

  Restart the system always back to my settings shortcuts but working with computer for a while turns them off. I use Avast, Malwarebytes, Auslogics BoostSpeed and Windows Defender regularly, as well as CCleaner at startup. I don't think it's one of these the origin of the problem, as happens when none of them scan as well. Using the Windows key + tab bar to change the input language works very well also.

  All languages are displayed and can be activated in this way. It's just the shortcut keys that keep disappearing. It is not a huge problem but can be troublesome when needing to switch between 2 or 3 languages quickly without having to scroll through all 12 of them. If someone has had this problem and is there a way to fix it?

  I own a laptop as mentioned above and its been a while since I've updated to 3.40 bios. Also recently I have updated already having 1 GB 2 GB of ram. I am running XP Pro.

  On the description of the bios, it says that the mentioned version takes supported the option "maintain proportions" (perhaps by allowing the use of shared memory more?) when using more than 1024 MB. I also update the driver but nothing happened. I thought that this is due to the memory, but after update nothing changed.

  Is it in reason to use XP instead of Vista (the description mentioned Vista only), or maybe the intel driver doesn't support on XP? Or something else?

  P.S. Note that the system uses the 945GM chipset.

  I just put one of my XP (bootable) disk in another one of my XP machines. The reader, before he was transferred, with C, E and Z scores. He was placed in a PC that had C and F partitions on a single drive hard but also taking over the letter E for the optical drive.

Then create a new partition in this space at the beginning of the disk, label it unique and make it active. Check that it is the active partition only.
