WRT1900AC - speed limit

When I connect my modem directly to my computer, I get 90 + Mbps speeds.  When I connect the modem through the router (except a wired port), I get speeds of 12-13 Mbps.  What can I do to improve this?

Here are some additional details:

Router LinkSys WRT1900AC =

ISP = Cox Communications

Modem = Cisco DPQ3212

Thank you

Lee

Activate Media prioritization, bandwidth promised ISP bandwidth downstream (ex: 90mbps) and the value of all the devices\app as the normal priority to start. Make sure that the support WMM is enabled as well.

  • Satellite Pro A300: XP - Internet HSDPA speed limit - only 1 MB

    Hello

I am user of 2 different models of Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1NT.
I use XP Professional extracted from the original XP Recovery disk.

When it is connected to internet provider GSM using ExpresCard HSDPA modem or HSDPA USB modem I get 1 MB speed limit control on speedtest websites (ie: speedtest.pl) and internet usage is relatively slow when comparing other computers.

When Windows Vista was installed on the model of the A300 speed was greater than 5 MB.

I already checked, I'm in the range of UMTS and speed on other computers (Toshiba Tecra with WinXP Pro, Toshiba A100) and M70 with Win XP Home with the same modem (Huawei) has no such speed limit

What might be the case and the solution?

    Hello

Have you checked the WLan performance using different WiFi standards?
You can change the Wlan standards in Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab.

    Check the settings there.
    I recommend using a WiFi standard 802. 11 G for example instead of B/G

In addition, you should check if you can update the WLan driver and if the BIOS is updated.

  • Is there a speed limit on the ethernet cards?

Hey guys do you have an idea who is at - it a speed limit on the Ethernet cards, because I can use the P2P so fast that, after awhile, my internet connection is stopped as, I can't do anything unless I unplug, wait a while and connect again. Don't you think that it is a hardware or software problem?
By the way: my Ethernet card is Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller.
I need your help. Thank you.

    Hello

In my opinion, if you have some problems with the internet connection the reason should not be any kind of speed limit but also other different reasons.

In your ad, you're not mentioned that you do exactly. You write e-mails or do the download of two different movies and many mp3 files?

As far as I know if you do the full download the connection can be slowed or even stopped by FAI. Is your cable may be defective. The LAN cable has 8 lines and if one line is faulty speed will fall automatically.

I also recommend you use a malware scanner and check the unit.

    Good bye

  • SPEED LIMIT OF DOUBLE CLICK KEY

I have a HP Probook4540s runing Windows 7 Professional. Last night, he started a speed limit on double substitution in a screen or program any key. Whenever I have a double character like "ee" or "oo" or same double line spacing or BACKSPACE or delete, once I hit key desired, I have to wait a second or 2 before I hit him again so he could register.  I don't know that there is a setting somewhere where I need to check or uncheck a box, but I have no idea where he might be. I've looked everywhere I can think of. It is not specific to a certain program, it happens in all programs, all screens.

    Hello

    Check the following points.

Open windows control panel, open ease of access Center and click on the link "make the keyboard easier to use.  If there is a check mark in the box beside "Turn Sticky Keys" or "Turn on filter keys", delete them and then click on apply to save the changes to see if that solves the problem.

  • wrt1900ac speeds slow older e4200 is faster

I am direct jessy in belgion

I bought me a new wrt1900ac router to replace my e4200 about a week ago

installed with the same setup as my old router and get verry bad wireless speeds

    also Wired is slower

I like modem, a router diferent provider telenet (cable)

and is the connector in a lan for my linksys (only option I) port and the same as how my e4200 attached

before I had internet speeds reach 11mbit now 120mbit

When I change the settings of the new linksys

DHCP - off (dhcp is not off on the e4200 router)

-modem cable from the vendor to the linksys lan port

I get a speed over fast but then also only 80mbit

the wrt1900ac also DUN reached no more then old router

and connection speed wirh two routers is 144mbit (with this computer at work I can get 300mbit connection speeds so computer isn't the problem

changing channels have no effect on the speed of connection speed (or better said almost nothing)

When I put off the wifi signal and use a router speeds cable linksys are also slower then when I use the same cable between the modem from the supplier directly into my computer so that the cable is not a problem

only through the wrt1900ac speed is slow

also sometimes spit when the connection is bad

It seems that you have done everything you can because it seems your defective device maybe. I recommend phone contact Linksys and RMA request. Or return this unit to place of purchase one get a different unit.

  • Speed limit of network in the workstation?

Do you know if there is no speed limit of network between the virtual machines running on the same workstation to Vmware? I think remember something about say 1 Gbps as maximum, but if virtual machines can provide throughput more - it will go by?

Do you use bridged or one of the networks vmnet1 hostonly or 8

hostonly networks are limited only by the host CPU resources

But anyway - Gbit network is much faster than anything that can manage virtual disks

  • vSphere virtual integrated cpu speed limit?

    Hello

I have a group of four vSphere 4.0u1 guests with many free resources (4-core nehalem 2.27 GHz + 32 GB RAM for each host). There is a virtual machine (linux Debian 5, 64-bit) with one vCPU. Though this VM would have more speed CPU (trigger alerts on the CPU usage), it becomes ever more than 2 GHz. In the resource pool, I tried to add several actions (up to 8000), but without success

Is there a speed limit of vCPU in vSphere so that the computer only vay to increace pover of VM is to add an another vCPU? Or am I missing something basic, where can I put the maximum vCPU for all my virtual machines? I think vCPU shloud be scalable in DURATION up to 4x2.27GHz less what console service needs, while the other usingVMs of lesscpu must be migrated to other hosts by the Drs Is is it true or not?

    Thanks in advance,

    David

    Hello

You'll never be more than the power of one heart for each vCpu. At any time, each vCpu is attached to a physical core. The ESX Planner do not aggregate the power of multiple processors to "emulate" a super processor.

In your configuration, will have no more than 2.27 GHz each vCpu.

  • download PC speed limit

I have a HP DV7 laptop.  I use Brighthouse internet service.  I have just upograded ti their 60 MB service.  My PC does not seem able to get the nore to 45 MB to download.  Which is the limit for this computer?  Brighthiouse sent a technician with a newer pc, and it had a speed of 65 MB.  BrightHouse will offer even higher speeds and I want to know if I can take advantage of them.

    Thank you... Wizzcom

Thanks for the information.  I talked to a technician at HP and the result is that my system can download a maximum of 45 MB.  I just received notice that Brighthouse now offers 90 MB.  What a shame, I can't enjoy it.

  • VM CPU speed limit - why?

In our environment, I have been asked to limit the MHz available to virtual machines with multiple vCPUs.  I got it because it will prevent a VM with bad software or process broke to consume multiple cores on the host.

My thought is that this is not serious if we limit the speed.  If a virtual machine will enter 2000 MHz or 1000 MHz, anyway it has a heart on the host.  If my host has power 3000 MHz and my VM cannot take 1000 MHz of this power (because it is his limit), it still has the heart.  I don't think that the 2000 MHz extra on this kernel is available to other virtual machines until the virtual machine with the wrong process restores the kernel.

With this reasoning, I should remove the limits and let the VMs system run.  A bad process that will break the VM will impact the host even if the MHz is limited or not.

Am I right or not?  Someone can explain better, or is there a documentation I can read and use as justification?

1000 MHz or 2000 MHz, anyway that there the heart on the host.

VM do not have access to material that's a software emulated time slice.

You can set limits of pools, give you a limit to the pool, the virtual machine shares the pool if one of these virtual machines exceeds this limit of pool, this will not affect ANY site of vm this pool.

By the way... even if an application is crazy... This is whence the priorities, you can make this virtual machine a lower priority such as the other virtual machines may take precedence over the CPU.

  • Host Link link Guest speed speed limit

    Hello..

It is a Question: is somehow the link speed of the host not to limit the speed of the link of a guest (VM) access the HOST?

    Example:

What happens if we have a host that is equipped with a 100 Mbit NETWORK card and a guest who has a virtual 1 GB card NIC (Intel Pro 1000 thingy). OF COURSE the guest CANNOT reach the external network (Physics) with the speed of 1 GB or vice versa since its limited through the physical NETWORK adapter of the host...

BUT... The Question now is... WHAT the maximum performance of such a guest if we want fair access network-HOST Services itself? It is a local connection, I guess. What speed can be achieved here?

    Background:

I have here a host FAT on Ethernet 100Mbit, 16Gig RAM, 2 x Intel XEON CPUs, Debian 5.0.1 and VMWARE 2.0.1 4core. My guest inside is also Debian 5.0.1 with a 100mbit NETWORK card PCnet32 virtual thingy. My host can read data from local raid with about 120 MB/s (mega bytes/s). My guest (using iSCSI to enter the Volumes on the host and so using the internal virtual network) can read about 11.2 MB/s of the host Diskdrives.  It made me courious, since ~11.2MB/s is on a 100mbit NIC maximum flow. But it is a BIG difference on performance. BTW: the same client can access data files of local virtual disk of GIS (vmdk) by AT LEAST 120 MB/s (local caching disabled). So, where is the limit and the bottleneck?

    Any ideas/suggestions?

    Axel Werner wrote:

And now you tell me... that the Networking Performance between guest and host VMWARE here is this effect limited to 100 Mbps, because I don't meet with the host NIC (which takes place in)

    100 Mbit)?

    Yes.

But COMMENTS <>network HOST my NIC speed would not be limited if I'd put the guest in a virtual network "HOST ONLY"?

    Yes.

If Yes... WOW! But... what would look like if you have Clients who want to access the Guest VM as a server files to a configuration/solution? you will need some sort of routing/bridging again.

    N °

Oh... would be 2 NICs in this guest so be a good solution? like: < USER-BRIDGED-LAN >--< GUESTVM > [NIC2]-< HOSTONLYNETWORK >

    Yes.

If the GUEST VM by wire-speed, users can access and GUESTVM access HOST of Services at the speed of the cpu. Is this correct?

I didn't say CPU speed, I said, it depends on the speed of the CPU. But in general, Yes.

  • Speed limit of the network in the Virtual Machine

I used to use a command in a VM's VMX file in VMWare Workstation 6 which allowed me to adjust the speed of the network in bits per second.  For example, I could put the speed of the network down to a modem of 28.8 or less if I wanted to.  I don't remember the VMX command to implement and I can't find my documentation, even if I know for sure, I used the feature in the past to solve the problems that occur only during slow connections (I've not used a team).  It's a manual change of the VM VMX file and it worked very well.  Anyone know which command I'm looking for?

Maybe ethernet0.txbw.limit. Check out this link too.

  • Internet connection with a wired network card Gigabit speed limit

Can you reach 150 speed Mbps Internet connection on a computer running Win XP SP3 and IE8 with the help of the Gigabit wired network adapter?
What kind of drivers are required in such a case?
Currently, I have 150 Mbps of connection, and what I get according to the speed tests is of the order of 60 Mbps with pings of 30 to 60 ms.
My troubled wired adapter is TP-LINK Model: TG-3269-based Realtek RTL-8169SC chipset and its driver: rtnicxp.sys, v.5.649.0615.2006 (WinDDK) provided by Realtek

The fact that your Ethernet card is theoretically capable of 1000 Mbps does not mean that everything in the path between your computer and the fiber cable (which is what your ISP based his spec 'speed' on) is capable of the same way.

    For example:

    • What type of cable you are using between the computer and the modem/router... and how long is it?  You did the cable yourself or did you buy it with the connectors already attached?  You must at least Cat 5 cable and attach the connectors yourself is not recommended, unless you have a good amount of experience doing.
    • What brand/model/version of your modem/router?  It has the latest firmware installed?

You have a second computer that also has a Gigabit network?  If so, check the transfer speed of A computer through the router to computer B (i.e. What is the transfer speed of your LAN, completely apart from the speed of transfer between you and your ISP).  Use a stopwatch and a large file or use a utility such as LAN Speed Test.

What TG-3269 version do you have?  The current one is V3.

Assuming you have v.3, you appear not to have the latest version of the driver (though I doubt that's the problem).  The package labeled TG-3269_XP_beta a 5.719.0325.2009 XP driver version.  http://www.TP-link.com/en/support/download/?model=TG-3269&version=v3#tbl_a
Finally, you may want to think about your connection setting, what is most important for XP and later versions of Windows: http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks and http://www.psc.edu/index.php/networking/641-tcp-tune

  • Speed limit 90Mbit wrt320N?

recently, my ISP upgraded to 120 MB... Wow

When I connect directly to the modem (wired connection) I get my 120Mbit, but when I connect via my router wrt320N, also plugged, the speed is limited to 90Mbit.

I updated firmware to 1.0.04)is, but no difference.

    I found it!

He seemed to be the cable between the modem and the router.

I replaced it, and now I have my 120 MBit!

The Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33 GHz 6 M L2 Cache processor should work fine, in 200 Vostro with the Version of the BIOS, already mentioned in my post.

Considers that for Quad-Core Core 2 Extreme QX9650 processor, 3 GHz, 12 MB L2 Cache, it will not work with the motherboard installed in your Vostro 200, for a compatible Core 2 Quad, a card mother G33M03 and a 350w PSU is necessary, I believe that your motherboard is the version with a power supply 300w G33M02.
